Hi All,
I’m Gordon Van Dyke and I’m the Associate Producer for Battlefield: Battlefield Bad Company 2 here at EA’s DICE studio in Stockholm.
Today we’re excited to announce that our forthcoming multiplayer beta is coming exclusively to PS3, so you’ll have a chance to experience all the action, destruction and vehicular warfare ahead of our full release on the March 2010.
Starting on November 19th the beta will feature the huge ‘Arica Harbour’ map where up to 24 players compete to secure valuable crates in the ‘Rush’ game mode as the action moves across a variety of different locations. From an initial vehicle assault on a military outpost the war winds through streets of a deserted town to an intense final fire-fight in an industrial harbour.

Getting access to the beta will differ from country to country but here are a few specific ways of getting hold of a key…
- We’ll be holding a special limited giveaway right here on the Playstation Blog
- Pre-ordering the game at participating retailers
- Checking out selected gaming sites such as IGN or Gamespot in North America.

BC2 will be in stores on March 5th in Europe, and March 2nd in North America.

Can’t wait. I dont have a clue why anyone would play Modern Warefare, battlefield is superior in every regards except story-telling which is short lived because MW/MW2 is only 5hours long.
I want the beta bad.

The only guaranteed way of getting a key is to pre-order via participating retailers. Selected gaming sites will be having beta key promotions. We will also have a promotion right here on the SCEE blog. I hope I’ll see you out there!

Will SCEE beta testers get in automatically, or is this a ‘code only’ beta?
Still, I can’t wait for this. I’m skipping CoD:MW2 mainly because of Activision’s greedy price-hike, but apart from that, I enjoyed the original Bad Company more than the original Modern Warfare anyway.

I’m glad there’s a beta. At least this time I’ll be able to see if the VOIP works properly BEFORE actually spending money on it.
