Well Microsoft have confirmed last minute that a very special announcement video will be posted on Xbox Live too – so that rules out any special treatment for PS3 owners.

This leads me to believe it’s either the arrival of a demo for both platforms very soon (like next week soon), or an announcement about the release date.

If it is the release date I can only assume that it’s going to be out much sooner than anyone thinks, given how much they are hyping this announcement. Could a surprise simultaneous global release be on the cards? That would be big news for a FF game, especially in Europe!

Rebrand the official site with the new PS3 logo and add the PSN logo if Microsoft really insists on the Xbox Live logo sitting by every Xbox 360 logo in existence, even when the game in question has no major online functionality, not even DLC.

I’m quite excited it’s not every day that Europe gets special attention, especially with a game as big as this.
I know that the US is getting a “Never seen before” Trailer for Home… But I’m hoping that the news is bigger than that especially as only the European Official XII website has the countdown and not the US one.
Would be nice to get a demo though and even better to get a release date ^_^ what if SE are going to announce that Europe and Japan get a simultaneous release on the 17th December lol… sigh* if only

My guess is it is about the EU and US release date for the PS3. I think PS3 version will release earlier than xbox360 since the development started on PS3 way earlier than xbox360. The only thing which can stop square enix to do that is Microsoft’s $$$.

if this is going to be the same kind of announcement as the one we got from bioware last month, ie something that is good news for everybody except eu ps3 owners, then i’d rather you didn’t bother.
if it does relate to europe then i can’t wait to hear it.

meh, lost interest in this a long, long, long time ago.
when a games release gets set back time and time and time and time again its hard to keep interest.
now some news about kingdom heart 3 now that would be BIG.

I know a guy who knows a guy who once saw someone from Square Enix. He told me that first they’ll announce the release dates:
US: April 2010
Europe: April 2011

Then they’ll announce what kind of exclusive DLC the 360 version will get.

True story.

It’s probably a release date announcement or a demo announcement.

What would really count as a surprise would be total unveiling of Final Fantasy 13: Versus and release date for that game.

I imagine it will simply be the clarification of a Western release date, possibly details of an International Edition (Which usually happens with Final Fantasy games).
