So I bet most of you have been playing Modern Warfare 2 this week, and in relation to this (just in case any of you missed it) we added the original Call of Duty: Classic to the PS Store on Tuesday evening (given a fresh lick of paint and with online 8 player multiplayer).
For the rest of the update this week, we have a varied offering, taking in a new bundle for Burnout Paradise, a new quiz pack for Buzz!, Fat Princess makes an appearance in PAIN and there is also additional content for Rag Doll Kung Fu, EyePet, Rock Band and Guitar Hero.
PSP users get three new games, three new minis, and the demo for Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier.
I know lately we’ve had a bit of a lull in the updates, and whilst they may not have been massive, we have been adding steadily to the store (for you PSP users especially), but next week, there should be a nice stream of content released, and I’m hopeful that some of you will be pleased once you see what’s coming
.
There will always be dips in the release schedule, that’s just the way it goes at times, but we always come out the other side smiling don’t we? Seriously though, we’ll be doing our best to make sure these lulls become less and less frequent, because we do want our community to be happy smiley folk after all!
Anyway, as usual leave your comments below and I’ll do my best to trawl through them. I may not respond directly, but I am reading and taking note, promise.

Mike can you confirm of any PS1 games coming to the store next week??

SF Alpha 3 Max warms my heart but the rest of this update sucks. There has been a “lull” ever since the release of FFVII. Seriously, why buy a PSPgo when there are few decent games to procure? Why?
I thought Vagrant Story was due this week?!?!
Still have not received my GT redeem code.
Mike why do you only reply to people who suck up or go for your jugular? Mild mannered people like feedback too.

I realy hope something is being done about the non-existant and useless (winnie the poo i am looking at you) updates for ps1 classics and psp go uses. I have recently upgraded and it feels more like a downgrade. The psp forum is awash with angry customers and this needs to be picked up by SCEE. At the moment this is the begining of the christams shopping and the psp brand needs to be stronger then ever to compeat and it feels like it has just given up. I realy want the pspgo to be a sucsess it fits my hand perfectly compaired to the old psp1000 so I can play it for longer and It being more potable is amazing but that said without software support it will die and become another jaguar/32X/Virtual boy. Please fix this sony!!!

I’ve only just signed up for an account here but this blog is truly great, my thanks to all of the people involved at Sony who make this happen.
Am I right in thinking that both Final Fantasy VIII and Vagrant Story will be heading to the store soon? That would be amazing. I’ve been checking at the store every week since I heard Final Fantasy VIII had come out on Japan’s store – I hope it’s in the pipeline

You bet I’m playing Modern Warfare 2 (Prestige Edition owner). Just got tired of waiting for Fallout 3 DLC’s to arrive in Portuguese Store.

““So I bet most of you have been playing Modern Warfare 2 this week”

Nah still addicted to Uncharted 2..
Same here. I’m doing Uncharted 2 on crushing mode to get my platinum and then probably go back to Uncharted 1 and finally finish off that games trophies too. No interest in Modern Warfare 2 at all as haven’t enjoyed the previous games much (I don’t like FPS games so that’s probably why). I’ll likely get Ratchet & Clank – A Crack in Time next though I haven’t yet finished the previous two.
Anyways I’ll grab me the Pain, Eyepet and Ragdoll freebies. Nice to see Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX on the PSP store section. I already have it but it’s still the best fighting game on PSP as far as I’m concerned.
@ENGCLM I bought a 500GB drive for my PS3 a few months ago for £69.99 from Play.com and it was totally worth it (especially compared to the cost of Xbox 360 hard drives). It’s nice to not have to worry about the filesizes of games, music and videos. I only had 40GB in my PS3 before and that filled up very quickly especially with several games that kept installing several gigabytes each.

Now look what you’ve done, made Mike go all apolgetic in the write up about something that is beyond his control. I miss the days when Sony staff were on top of the world, and promising the PS3 could render the moon on a stick.
I say bring back the Riiidge Racccer times, they were more fun.

Another week and not much to get excited about. I continue to be disappointed by the PSP offerings.
Any word on Vagrant Story? Is it definately coming to the EU PSN Store as was reported?

Crap update, where is FF VIII Re 1 & 2, Oddworld 1 & 2 and Mgs1?
Why Europeans customers must have ugly games like Winne the Pooh?

Nothing for me this week, but that’s life and there’s plenty of gaming goodness I need to be getting on with (U2:AT platinum, MW2 on it’s way etc), and plenty of previously released content I’ve never gotten around to (only just started Trine, and Topatoi is back on my radar after the price reduction).
If only more people felt that way, it seems like some people on here completely disregard the wealth of previously released content both digital and retail and just focus on the current weeks update as the be all and end all of their gaming existence. Besides as Mike says most people are playing MW2 this week anyway, that’s certainly how it looks on my Friends List!
Regarding next weeks content tease, I hope for your sake you’re shipping in a boat load of PSOne Classics! If not, I’m going to begin to wonder whether you secretly get kicks out of being verbally lambasted!
For me personally I hope it’s Braid (and an FFXIII demo on the back of the big announcement – wishful thinking, I know!).
Speaking of releases, is there a firm date for PixelJunk Shooter yet? Also is it true the EU Video Store will launch next Wednesday, if so why hasn’t that been posted on the blog yet?

Posted on 12 November, 2009 at 12:34 pm by Shuya86
Is there a confirmed release date for Vagrant story from square enix? Their news letter originally said iit was coming out today but then they had to go and spoil it by sending another one that instead said coming soon …
73
Posted on 12 November, 2009 at 12:34 pm by Dreadknux
I guess Vagrant Story PS1 isn’t coming this week as Square Enix announced. Sad panda. Can only hope it’ll be added next week for sure.
Not too bothered about the lack of additions, I have way too many games to complete as it is, from my Dreamcast and Mega Drive to my PS2 and PS3. Certainly don’t need more distractions! Although it would be nice. =D
Going to a SCEE launch party for the Video Store on Wednesday 18th, so I assume it will be coming sometime next week.

Mike where is the Barbie Detective PS1 classic? I bought my PS3 for that! I am currently forced to shoot people with 3 leds in their face in a beautifully rendered world in Killzone 2 or traverse a wonderfully brilliant world in Uncharted 2, while I could be enjoying myself solving mysteries as Barbie. Fix this immediately or I will switch back to my Commodore 64!
Anyway thanks for the update and I hope the flames don’t get to bad today

So if PAL is the 3rd world of the three PSP regions, now Australia/New Zealand is the 3rd world of the PAL region? Pathetic.

Hey mike,
Any news on Rock Band Track Pack pricing?
Also, since SCEA will release Braid to their PSN store today (oddly I only asked about this 2 weeks ago) is there any further update as to when we could perhaps receive this title?

Hi Mike. Would it be possible for you to find out what’s happening with the ‘flOw’ trophy update/patch for Europe please? It was available in the USA a month ago and the developers say SCEE is holding it up. Would be very grateful if you can give us any update on that!

Why are some games missing in Australia? I would really like to know when or if Zombie Apocalypse will ever be released on the PSN here. Could you please tell me, Mike, before I resort to importing it or buying it on another console.

Anything happening with Critter Crunch?
There seems to be a correlation between the rating of these updates and whether or not there’s something decent to buy at a fair price, hmm

A very meeeh update, not a lot of interesting things, except for the Jak & Daxter demo and add-ons to Fat Princess. Not a bad update, but not a good one either. Good addition with the availability info, it really helps. Thanks Mike!

Well, I’m more looking forward to next week’s list now, although unless it contains a large number of UMD games making an appearance I’ll probably be grumbling. I should probably set up a grumbling robot to do this for me really. Or maybe I’ve turned into a grumbling robot. I can’t tell any more.

As said by the first commenter, I’d really like to say that the ingame advertising in WipEout is really annoying, and detracts from the experience a lot.
The fact that it is running both while playing solo and online is a bit of a disgrace.
We paid for the title, and were enjoying perfectly til then.
I would much prefer pay more but not being hold back by 10 seconds ads every 10 minutes (I don’t ever intend to buy Rocky after such loud marketing).

I think it was a good idea specifying the availability of certain content in certain locales.
However, I’d like to enquire when Zombie Apocalypse and Critter Crunch will be available for Australians? I believe it’s been released in North America and Europe, but not here yet?
Regardless, thanks for the ‘heads-up’

Mike,
on the US PS Blog a guy from Hothead games confirmed to me that Braid is in QA at SCEE. Do you have any idea as to how long this will take?
I’d really like an approximate release window!
