I don’t know if any1 cares but you forgot the ad-hoc party post

I’m certainly not reflecting over Square Enix’s ‘big’ announcement. It was a release date… every game has one. Considering the amount of hype that this announcement got, I was at least expecting something that shouldn’t be common knowledge from the beginning (there were like, two announcements about the announcement of the release date).

there was the announcement that leona lewis is providing the theme song for the western release of ffxiii, that was a surprise.
sad face.
and it’s nice to know the release date for the eu release, and for once it’s not like a year after the japanese release.
that was good.
and the ad hoc party app sounds good too.
apart from the slightly lacking store update it wasn’t too bad a week, shame dragon age is still stuck in “the dungeon”.

Jem, the blog could really do with an edit comments button, and a way of replying to other’s comments too! For me it has led to many embarresing moments (I mis-spelled organism once!) an edit button would be very useful!

Microsoft is paying for that March 2010 release to give it something to go up against GoWIII and GT5, otherwise this game would have had worldwide Dec 2009 release on the PS3. No thanks SE, enjoy your money hat.

KSPRAYDAD, that would only make sense if FFXIII was a Xbox exclusive. The same game being released simultaneously on two different consoles isn’t going to cause any competition between those consoles, regardless of any other games being released around the same time.
The FFXIII article certainly has lured a load of fanboys out of the woodwork.
Personally I thought the FFXIII announcement was pretty unique, over hyped maybe, but still good. How many other release date announcements get that much time and money spent on them?

we’ve waited anything from six months to a year for previous ff titles in europe so a few months is a heck of a lot better than it used to be.

@6….
This is how it works…
MS buys the launch date and lines it up with GoWIII and GT5… This gives MS something to sell up against these titles… This keeps MS from looking like they are having their arse handed too them in the gaming press… this spreads PS3 owners money across 3 games and likely negatively impacts the sales numbers of PS3 exclusive titles…this protects MS mindshare and sales momentum. So yes…there IS an advantage to MS to hand out money for a strategic date for the launch. You honestly think that if this was PS3 exclusive it would be launching in March?
It isn’t fanboyism…it is cynicism.

KSPRAYDAD, do you honestly believe that Square Enix, a company in which Sony owns most of the shares, is going to allow Microsoft to “buy” the launch date for one of the biggest PlayStation franchises?
Give yourself time to soak that in before answering.

@10
If Sony owned ‘most of the shares’ in Square Enix, do you honestly believe that any Square Enix game would be released on any platform other than Sony ones?

How come the European blog has (again) only half the posts the USA blog?
If you can´t bring up any local products or release new goodies at least try to remember existing ones like MAG Beta (at phase 4), there has been no mention of the game in a LONG time even though the beta goes on and there are plenty new stuff in this version.

adz2k7, Sony isn’t publishing FFXIII so they can’t dictate which platform(s) the game is released on. There is a big difference between being the major share holder of a development studio, and being the publisher for games developed by said studio. If Sony was the publisher for FFXIII then I doubt we would see the game on the Xbox.

Can you guys at Sony do me and others a favor? Contact Nippon Ichi and ask why the hell its taking so long to release the trophy patch for Disgaea 3? Nathalie or whatever her name is said Autumn but its nearly Winter and still “no” patch!

so jem, can we get an answer to the ultimate alliance dlc question?
the devs say scee have the dlc but according to mike, scee didn’t have it and now it’s lost in the scee system somewhere, check “the dungeon”.
and it begs the question, what other content have scee recieved that they haven’t put out yet?
i’ve been saying time and time again devs wouldn’t release content everywhere except scee regions, not when they put out the exact same content on multiple formats just fine.
ok maybe it could happen once in a while, but it seems to happen just about every other week with scee.
we just had to accept scee’s claims that it was down to the devs.
now it turns out it’s not.
so, are you going to ignore this question like you do every other question?
don’t worry i’ll post this every single day until you answer so don’t worry about working on the weekend.
i think maybe this is something your bosses at sony should hear about.

because now, you’re not just neglecting your customers, you’re also costing people money, how much money did capcom lose, or not make to be more accurate, on sfiihd thanks to scee?
how much income are activision missing out on, not that they’re short of cash.
how much potential profit had you pushed microsoft’s way with this clearly broken system scee have for supposedly bringing us content?
even if sony don’t care about us they should care about that.
maybe kaz or howard stringer would be interested in how scee is being mismanaged.

Okay post this week. I am looking forward to Assassins Creed on the PS3 and PSP. I have both ordered.
@HazelAM Still at it I see. Your constant ranting used to annoy me now I am starting to pity you. You are the same level as Gordon Brown now.
“how much income are activision missing out on, not that they’re short of cash.”
Who cares about Activision? Not me, I played MW2 at a friends I didn’t waste my money on the game. I gave it a 7.9 did nothing new and it was paced horribly. It also had way too much god bless America rubbish in it. The online is just the same as MW. As in the same I mean a camera on a shopping cart. Killzone is better on that front.
Activision deserves less money after that stunt saying he was going to pull support for the PS3 and he deserves low sales. But it doesn’t matter. He sold his shares now and made 10 million in his bank account. He is also planning to pay for online in the near future.
First Party should be supported more. If MS made more money, good on them. I enjoyed Resistance and Killzone far more than MW2. They got exclusive right to advertise for it. Playstation got exclusive rights to Assassins Creed 2 a far better game in my opinion.

i couldn’t care less about activision, i haven’t bought modern warfare 2 and may never buy it.
what i do care about is playstation owners in europe who are missing out on content because of scee.
the point is scee have been saying they can’t post the content if they don’t have it and now we’re finding out they do but are sitting on it or they lost it in their system some how.
and you compare me to the prime minister? i’m flattered but hardly deserving.
if you think i’m wrong to demand answers of scee, because that’s exactly what i’m doing, then you better report my comments.
though people like you who always have to resort to, what you assume to be, insults have little moral authority to decide what’s right and wrong.

scee probably already have the trophies patch for flow and just haven’t put it online, or it’s gotten lost somewhere.
“the dungeon” perhaps

HazelAM does have a valid reason to demand an answer from SCEE regarding held or lost content. Things such as exchange rates and legitimate content delays I don’t have a problem with, we need to take the rough with the smooth, but holding back content without good reason to do so is wrong.
So yeah, it almost pains me to say it (LOL), but I’m with HazelAM on this one.

Definitely agree with HazelAM here. It’s pretty rediculous that Scee can’t find the content. Can we at least get a new date for the ultimate alliance content, it was supposed to come out last thursday. I don’t know how the process works, but can’t the developers of the game just send it over again?
37
Posted on 16 November, 2009 at 5:22 pm by HazelAM
no doubt they could but that would mean scee admitting they lost it.
and i can’t see them doing that.

way to go jem, we’re not important enough for a single reply?
do i have to remind you of this yet again
Jem
“I’ll make sure you see more replies on here from now on. That’s one of the main purposes of the blog, after all.”
was that yet another scee lie?
like “we haven’t got the blank” replace blank with game, dlc or demo.
and don’t go pulling the indignant act, we’re the customers who are being lied to.
