Sorry for the awful title… Believe me it is better than the first couple I came up with (“Born ExcluSlippy” was by far the worst). Got a better one? Answers on a postcard.
Anyway, from that rubbish title you can probably guess what I’m going to say. Underworld are back and guess who they have given the exclusive first look of their new video to? MTV… No, I’m kidding… They gave it to us
For those of you who don’t know, here is how their label describes them (far more eloquently than I ever could).
“Having created a defining soundtrack to a chemical generation with the almighty ‘Born Slippy’ and countless club crossover hits including the likes of ‘Rez’ and ‘Cowgirl’, Underworld are highly regarded as one of the best in the business.”
Nice heh? Their new track is called “Downpipe” and is a collaboration with house music aficionados Mark Knight and D Ramirez. Want more info on the tune this is what the label had to say…
“The combination of Underworld’s unmistakable talent for drawing on primal energies and Mark Knight and D.Ramirez’s unquestionable production skills and knowledge of the Dance Floor tells a powerful story that is ahead of the curve and pays off with a monster riff in the drop.”
WOW! You HAVE to be excited now, surely? Well all I have left in my arsenal of excitement is the fact that the video is pretty spectacular as well. I’m not going to give anything away but it’s definitely worth checking out for the video alone.
The video will be available from 17:00 GMT on Tuesday 17th November in all VidZone territories.
You still here? Go on… Check it out now… Go on… Please come back and tell me what you think though.
See you on the other side
Ben

Hi Ben, thanks for the ‘heads-up’.
What do you mean with: “The video will be available from 17:00 GMT on Tuesday 17th November in all VidZone territories.” ?
I’m from Portugal, will I be able to access it already?
Posted on 16 November, 2009 at 3:26 pm by Ben Creasey
Unfortunatley only users in UK, Ireland, Australia, Germany, France, Spain and Italy will be able to catch the exclusive tomorrow.
Don’t worry though it will still be there for when we launch in Portugal, and we have plenty of other exclusives lined up for you guys!!
Ben

Ben – You keep stating that Black Eyed Peas – I Gotta Feeling is on Vidzone. But I can’t find it anywhere, and I’ve tried on 2 Ps3′s with different PSN accounts?

Posted on 16 November, 2009 at 11:53 am by Ivan_Krazy
@sully1311
When You log onto Vidzone you would immediately be on the homepage and now you will be on “The Vidzone Chart”. It shows 10 songs in this category and “I Gotta Feeling” is on the sixth position. Hope this helps.

We are you launching VidZone in Poland. Could you please explain why it takes so long? Thx.
21
Posted on 16 November, 2009 at 1:53 pm by Kenshin71
I imagine it takes so long because they would have to localise everything. Lots of translation to do. VidZone and Sony would be better off doing initial releases in English with a patch updating to the local languages. It’s the same with a lot of games where Euros get it months after the US because Sony won’t change their stubborn policy.

What are chances of either a Chemical Brothers or a Hybrid exclusive?
Regarding exclusives in general, who approaches who in order to score them?
Posted on 16 November, 2009 at 9:36 pm by Ben Creasey
Hey Taurus82
They come knockin at our door of course! We may have to go and chase these guys though.

I hope you vidzone guys are not getting stressed out due to the fact that there is only 33 work days left before 2010 (less if you planning to be free during christmas
) and that we (the less important countries) is looking forward to get the vidzone in the year 2009.
Anyhow, I hope you succeed in bringing us this cool looking service before new year! God luck!

This is one of the moments, where I wish this service was avaliable in Denmark. Needless to say, the song is awesome, so I’m lookingforward to the video.

Any idea when we will see Muse songs (there is a folder but no songs). Also, can we get some more Lostprophets and Pendulum?

Posted on 16 November, 2009 at 8:55 pm by Snugbucket
You guys said that you would be releasing Vidzone to New Zealand by the end of the year and hinted within the last couple of weeks that some PSN changes were being made to accomodate that. When is it coming to NZ?

Hi Ben
- Shiina Ringo (or Sheena Ringo)
- Do As Infinity
- Tokyo Jihen
Would be a good start for some J-Pop/J-Rock. I’d be especially glad, if you could get the Shiina Ringo videos in time for the Vidzone “region expansion”
This woman really is a marvellous artist, go check out her videos/songs ASAP if you don’t know her yet.

since we’re talking J-Pop, why not some J-Hiphop?
i love RIP Slyme and those guys are close to Sony, they even have a videoclip shamefully pluging Sony’s VAIO :p
i would love to see some of that when, one day, vidzone comes to Portugal :p
