Wow, what a let down.

Just watched X-Men in HD. Spent the first hour trying to get 5.1 audio, before working out it’s HD, but not 5.1.

I hate to say it, but t’s more expensive than iTunes, and is lacking decent audio.

Well as they say, first and last. Unless sort out downloads with decent audio, I’ll stick to iTunes or disk based content.

As someone else commented above, I also live in Spain and hate the fact the the movies come in just one language, why should it? when i go out to a store and buy a blu-ray movie I have the option to change the language on it before watching it. My first language is English and its really frustrating that I have to watch movies in Spanish just because I live in Spain…

You guys really have to try harder with this stuff:

1. Price: Too expensive, especially to purchase
2. Features: No 5.1 Audio
3. Availability: New titles not available to rent

Seriously, you can’t even compete with Blockbuster, let alone LoveFilm with the store in it’s current state. Why did you bother?

What will your prizing strategy be when launching in other countries?
(Uncharted 2 is available for £34 in UK, but costs as much as £64 in Norway.)

When will Ireland get it’s video store because on the official PlayStation website it said that Ireland will be among the first countries in SCEE to get the video store ? Intresting comment 252 I live in Spain too, and am Englsh so want to be able to watch in English, however at the moment the service does not work for me.

I have a English account and when clicking on the video of choice, it says not available for that account. I am awaiting a response from Sony whom I have a case number with as of this morning.

We will have to wait and see what is up…

I must admit I am excited, the video delivery service has launched earlier than expected. What I can not comprehend is, just because I live in Spain that doesn´t mean I have to watch movies in Spanish which is terrible by the way, to say the least. I realize this is something of a personal matter and that I am probably in the minority about this. Nevertheless when I purchase or rent the movies from any other source other than the PlayStation network, I have the option to choose which language i enjoy my movie in. Why is it that in Spain´s network I do not have this option. I am extremely dissapointed and do not intend to purchase nor rent any movies from the PlayStation Network Video Store. Just because we are in Spain that does not mean we do not enjoy films in their original language which for the most part is ENGLISH.

as i seen today yet again new films have no option to rent . tetminator salvation and ice age 3 are on store if u search them and wouldnt u know 11.99 to own for both with no option to rent . [DELETED] are u guys thinking this is gonna ruin store as people want to rent in hd nt buy a download at 11.99 what do u lot at scee think us in europe are ur personal cash machine pfffft ayone who has any sense will not buy anything off store coz if ur ps3 breaks or gets replaced the films uv bought are lost it says invalid protection when copied onto another ps3 coz the drm . olga maybe answer customers why we are gettn shafted with no option to rent for new releases yet u.s get rentals no problems . then aain scee are greedy [DELETED].

So which one is it? Cause I registered the playstation itself on the 19th.

Rented Cold Mountain (wanted a Natalie Portman film) in HD, but haven’t fully download it yet. In terms of file size I went and picked the worst, a 2 and a half hour movie! I’m a little disappointed that we can’t buy HD from the off – I try my best to avoid SD stuff these days – but I’m sure they’ll sort it in the end. Good to see stuff you can’t currently get on Blu-ray atm such as The Exorcist on there too. I think TV series will be a good inclusion to the service.

As a big fan of movies and TV shows I was excited about your announcements at Gamescom 2009 in Cologne, and I was totally looking forward to the launch of your video service in Germany. Actually, I expected the perfect addition to my PS3 and PSP, and I even thought it might let me switch from Lovefilm rental service and from purchasing DVDs/Blurays in local shops and amazon.de.

Of course, rental prices could be significantly lower in the PSN video service, OTOH, PSN is more comfortable and faster available to me than my existing sources.

However, what really turns me away: there is only the annoying German dubbed track available. I can’t rent/buy the movies in the original language and with English / German subtitles switched on, like I can do with DVDs and Blurays. I never watch US shows or movies in German television for this, so I spend considerably much for DVD/Blurays.

I think, this lack of original language and subtitles is turning away many other heavy users. Adding this feature to PSN video store, you could get a very profitable target group.

So, I will not buy or rent movies in PSN, except of the original German movies, until you add this feature.

they’re so dumb, hancock in SD £11.99 – dvd off play.com £3.99!
we rent 4 blu ray discs a month for £7 some of the HD rentals are £4.50 each !!!
it’s not even funny how far off the mark they are, it’s a shame as loads of people will never use it.
