Was a very good night though and I think that the Video store works well for what it is.

@Bear: Yes, there was an open bar but they ran out of beer very quickly. And it was Italian Plumber beer too (That’s peroni beer btw)

My main problem with the service is that you can’t rent the new releases. Seems that the studios (including sony) are trying to force people to buy the films.
Had to laugh, Twins is on the video store to buy for £8.99, you can get it on amazon for £1.75!

Hello Sony,

I was very pleased to see the new video service. Good work and well done Sony, it was well overdue.

I must agree with all my other PS3 customers that the price for buying a movie is far too expensive. I do not understand how I can stroll down to any store and purchase a hard copy of a movie for a lower price.

The rentals are on the same level as blockbuster and our local video store but I must add that paying £3.49 for a rental on HD is an a bit of a joke as all movies for rental should be the same price. Could this be for the storage space on your servers?????

Thats my grind with Sony today on there video store.

PS: Why do Sony have SOE , and why is there games not avalaible on the PS3? Is it the same company? Please let me know.

Lack of 5.1 sound..can only rent HD films..

There must be some redeeming feature..but wait! A quick check on Amazon, Play or ANY OTHER GOOD ELECTRONICS RETAILER will show that the PRICE for a PHYSICAL COPY is much LOWER, even for NEW FILMS

That and leaving out the Irish without an explanation!

Chalk up another footbullet for Sony. Don’t you guys get tired of giving the finger to the EU/AUS fans and shooting yourselves in the foot?

I really hope the Blog team is soaking in all this criticism; it’s ok to hide behind a wall and ignore it all, but your going to loose a lot of support from your users.

The PS3 has gone from strength to strength, but recently, the attitude towards the users and lack of transparency is disappointing, even some of the comments from the PS Blog team have been a little disappointing.

Take all the comments regarding price to heart, people don’t want ripped off, and you ARE ripping people off. There is no justification for those prices and there is NOTHING you guys could say that could convince me that £8 for a stereo SD file is definitely what you should be offering. DVDs cost next to nothing WITH extras, your films and tv shows should cost the same as the Rental Price with an extra pound or two for the HD version, not £8, not £12, not £16.99. They are digital film files, not physical copies.

It’s the same problem with the games. Give us transparency and we might learn WHY you price them at a really bad price point. If not, we will continue to be disappointed.

I agree. What’s up with leaving the Irish out of the loop – Pft, always getting the short end of the stick.

Even notice on Tekken 6, at the online screen, they have lights indicating all the people online in the world but none in Ireland. >___>

Meh, I have 13 movies on my PS3, anyway. Not in HD but big deal. They were free.
