Hello, hello.
I’ve left writing this update to the very, very, very last minute this week, so for fear of getting my hands slapped by Jem, I’m going to keep this brief.
We have content on the store this week, you may love it, you may not – I will always love you all though, no matter how much you abuse me, that’s commitment right there
I’ll try and monitor comments as best I can this week, but forgive me if there is a delay in my responses.
Have a good week all!

i think sony europe is trying 2 bore us 2 death with crappy disney games then delay everything cause else it would look like they woulden’t have anything 2 release through the whole year if we would compare them with the other sony like japan and america it would be like europe is like the child america the big boy and japan the wise old man, so what i am trying 2 say is sony europe needs 2 grow up and become something before it dies at young age.
and mike you may comment on this blog yet your only awnser is always the same like post 407 said.
we need content not excuses!

@taurus82: I believe the game was pulled from the US release, it didn’t pass testing. Of course, it probably should have been tested BEFORE being advertised.

Good lord seany1, why must you put us through the horror of your spelling!? To be honest I’m shocked Mike bothered to not only respond to you in ANY way but he did it several times! Anyone who doubts Mike’s commitment should take a look at what you have forced him to read, I mean geez they’re called vowels and despite what you appear to have heard they aren’t optional.

Shock horror they changed the PSone games logo!
I have to say though, there’s still some basic school boy graphic design problems going on week in week out i.e. white corners around thumbnails are still cropping up (where it’s supposed to be transparent against the blue BG of the content box). The Metal Gear Solid PSone thumbnail icon is a recent example. Smash Cars Playable Demo is another… and size of the white corners varies as well (eg Assasin’s Creed 2 recent video suite). You really should stick to one template for this sort of thing and remember not to actually save out the white corners. doh!!
Seriously does anyone check this stuff? I’d lose my job over something like that. Cant believe Sony’s PSN design team standards are so low.
Also, what the hell is up with only MGS1 having the new PSone icon template *which is pretty nice btw*.
This is poor. Get it sorted. It’s about having standards and consistency. Why is it taking so freaking long to establish basics here. Looking at the video store seems like you have things sorted there as far the design template for the thumbnails goes.

I have two questions that need addressing:
#1: When will the Rock Band DLC be back on time? Would it be possible for Europe to get the missing Tom Petty tracks + the Nirvana/Night Ranger tracks on the 3rd December?
#2: When will other European regions be getting the video store? I think this problem is particularly confusing here in Ireland. We speak English so the language barrier isn’t an excuse.
I know you SCEE guys put up with a lot of crap, but I find the above issues particularly distressing.

hiya mike.
i saw that tweet, was funny actually, made me laugh.
i wouldn’t say you were wrong to say what you did on your own private twitter account, even if i thought you went too far, and i don’t
a similar comment on here while you’re posting in your official capacity would be different.
the thing is there’s a reason why there are so many complaints, and the number seems to be growing.
it’s not because people like to moan, i know some of us might but not everybody.
sure there are people who would complain whatever happens, but give those people as few legitimate complaints as possible and those complaining for the sake of it will make themselves clear.
when the only place in the world the problems arise for a certain piece of content is the scee offices, by any logical process of deduction the main cause has to be scee.
maybe if it only happened once you could say it’s any number of reasons but when it happens so often it’s hard to argue against the problem originating within scee.

dont let this make you think we don’t value what we do mike, because we value it very highly, if more of scee showed the same passion you do i think the fanbase would be much happier.
we may not like the news but at least there’s one person who want’s to keep us in the loop as much as he can.
you have any idea what’s happened to jem lately?
he seems to have gone awol, not replying at all.
don’t really want to have a go because for all i know he could be dealing with some heavy stuff in his home life that’s weighing on his mind.
but if he’s just ignoring us then it’s just not cool.

I agree Hazel. But the one thing that really bugs me is that Mike is at the end of the chain, but the worst complainers make out that Mike has control over SCEE. Mike can only do so much and what he can do is applied to the store.
If these people have an issue with SCEE, then they should take it up with SCEE and not Mike himself. I wonder how they’d feel if they got flak for working for a company when it’s not even their fault, but their bosses.
Admittedly, the two main offenders on here must most certainly be trolls, or at least little kiddies who seem to think they know everything.

2 weeks in a row now the Rock Band DLC has not shown up, last week was supossed to be AFI & the Bangles(showed up today), and this week was supposed to be Tom Petty(where is it?)
Why does PS3 & Xbox in the USA have these packs but only the Xbox in Europe have these tracks?
Now the Lego Rock Band export feature does not work for EU PS3 users.
Any more news on this?

When are Europe going to feel the Resident Evil 2 PSN love ? It’s one of my favourite games of all time and it’s annoying that the folks over the pond already have it !!

Hey mike , just wondering is it true there wiil be over 300 PSone titles due out in 2010 ? E3 said something about it . Hopefully you guys can have Square-Enix put Final Fantasy VIII and Final Fantasy IX on the store to complement Final Fantasy VII. Also the Spyro games would be great too , some memories they were !. And when will the premuim avatars be realeased ? I think an avatar pack would be a great idea, say a Tekken avatar pack for example with X Number of avatars for a reasonable price . that would be cool . Thanks and keep up the excellent work . Playstation 4 ever !!

Still no word on Ad-Hoc Party, seriously it can’t be that hard is it going to be in this week or is it being delayed indefinately, the EU store really doesn’t compare to the japanese nor US stores and i’ve seen the US store its amazing even just as a layout, surely you guys all being the same company should have some sort of uniformity between the stores at the very least just for terms of layout and ease of access

Hey Mike,
Not sure you’re going to see this as the next update is probably imminent. I know you don’t get much thanks but I for one appreciate the frequency and style with which you respond to comments.
A lot of people I’m sure (myself included) start our visit to the PlayStation blog on your “heads up” post, it seems to blow other posts comment figures out of the water and you almost always lead the way in responses. By contrast the video updates seem to be replied to much less frequently and in a much more…”corporate” fashion. No disrespect to Olga or anyone else who takes the time to talk to the community, but in my opinion you certainly stands head and shoulders above the rest in the feedback stakes.
Don’t go changing!
P.S. I might just repost this in the next update…we’ll see.

O Mike if you could get in contact with the people sort out the PS1 games for Europe and find whats going on that would be fantastic.
I don’t like the feeling of not knowing whats going on and a lot of people here feel the same.
Thanks again.
