Howdy.
For the full list of content you know what to do, scroll down for the rundown. This week (and every week from now on actually) I’ll be mentioning a few bits of content I think may be of particular interest to you. It’s obvious that there are various pockets of different users visiting the store, and it’s our job to try and make sure there’s a good mixture of content available, so whilst there won’t always be something for everyone every week, I think we’re offering a very diverse range of content to suit most people’s tastes.
Anyway, onto the content; this week we see the Bayonetta demo released to our collective shores, and it’s garnering high praise from various sources (I had to double check when I saw the 10 score given by Edge – as it’s such a rare occurrence these days) so this seems to be definitely worth checking out, especially for fans of games such as Devil May Cry.
For the sports fans among you, in particular fans of the ‘sweet science’, there are additional boxers, and modes released for Fight Night Round 4 – Hopkins, Holyfield and Liston are great additions to the roster (but personally I’d especially love to see David Haye added at some point too) J
For anybody who finds Veteran difficulty on Modern Warfare 2 far too easy, then you would have probably checked out Operation Flashpoint already and the additional pack Dragon Rising Skirmish releases today adding extra multiplayer maps and FTE missions to test your skills further.
Finally a quick mention of our latest batch of Special Offers, we have five PS3 titles and five PSP titles at reduced prices for two weeks, then from the 17th of December we will have a glut of promotions in celebration of Christmas. Full details below…

Good selection, I’ll have to pick up The Last Guy at that price, and the demo of Topatoi is welcome. I still need to get Gravity Crash once I finish Critter Crunch, and next week PixelJunk Shooter will go on the list too! How is it that some people still can’t find aything to interest them on the store! Not to mention trying to get that illusive Star69 trophy in MW2 inbetween!
By the way Mr Kebby, congratulations on the promotion! I hope you still find time for us little people as you climb SCEE’s ivory tower!
Care to elaborate on how your new role is different to your last one? Are you still actively involved in weekly Store preparation? Do you have more clout when it comes to deciding what is added to the store or how it is run? Who do you report to now, and how many ‘minions’ do you control?
I trust there was a juicy pay raise in it for you too, after the [bleep] you put up with in these updates each week you deserve it!
Posted on 3 December, 2009 at 4:51 pm by Mike Kebby
Thanks (I forgot I mentioned that on my twitter feed)
I’m looking after the store management team now (we are a small team, who look after the merchandising, marketing, and the general management of the store) however, there are lots of things that are still out of my control and are decisions that come from the main HQ in Japan, so whilst I want to shape the team in my own image, I’m not too sure how much change we can bring about, but hey, it’s extremely fun – and challenging – to try!
I’m not going anywhere in terms of the weekly store updates, I’ll be here every week as usual…you can’t get rid of me that easy.

Can you please give us a time frame for Peggle and Braid. It’s been 3 weeks since Braid was put on the US store and I haven’t heard a peep from you mike (sorry if I missed it) as to when we can expect them.
Please can you answer as I can’t wait to play em. All peace and love mike
and keep up the grand work

Not exactly brimming with lush content this week Mike. Any dates for the EU versions of Braid and Star Trek D-A-C? Those are really all I’m looking for atm.
Posted on 3 December, 2009 at 4:53 pm by Mike Kebby
Both titles should be out in the next few weeks I’m hoping.

Is there anyway to get news about when f-1 will be available?
game i wanted the most and still no sign of it
very disapointed to be honest

I love you Mike, but for your sake as well as ours, jump down the throat of the publishers and your higher ups to get proper classics on the PSN.
It’s free money basically, given that for the most part the work is done, barring any compatibility issues. And also, whoever is telling you that awesome games like FF8 and Vagrant Story are coming, remind them that they have to deliver after dangling that in front of us…
Meh, I mean you personally no ill will, it’s just becoming quite bleak to be a EU PSNer.

Not brilliant this update, but at least Disney love us Europeans.
Still playing Disgaea so I don’t need another game yet.
Any word on COD: Classic? It released on Xbox Live yesterday (apparently but I don’t have one to check), so are we going to wait much longer? Is this punishment for it accidently being released before?
Finally Happy 15th Birthday PlayStation! So long ago now, doesn’t seem it.
Posted on 3 December, 2009 at 4:57 pm by Mike Kebby
COD Classic will be here next week

Nowhere in my post did i blame sony for the lack of decent PSone classics, but i’m still allowed to be annoyed at whoevers fault it is, especially when US/JPN PSN gets great ones.

Kudos for the PS3 special offers, nothing there I want or haven’t already got, but it’s certainly heading in the right direction!
Annoyingly, the only KZ DLC I bought is the one on offer, any reason why it’s just that one + the full pack?
If the other ones were there I’d snap them up at that price.
Looking forward to the 17th for some bargains!

Dudes, It’s not SCEE’s fault the devs don’t send them the game code for PS1 Classics. Then theres licensing, languages…
Just lay off the SCEE hate people, It’s getting old now.

Posted on 3 December, 2009 at 4:21 pm by twoofclubs
Aside from the Bayonetta demo I doubt I’ll be getting anything this week. However unlike most I don’t think that makes it a bad update as there’s loads of DLC, special offers and PSP content available.
Wonder how many complaints towards Sony there will be about the Disney game despite Mr Kebby saying on numerous occasions that the developers choose what to submit not Sony.
64
Posted on 3 December, 2009 at 4:22 pm by Halokon
Oh, cheeky little aside, totally not your area I presume, but mebbe talk to SCEE publishing dept and tell them to give us some Demon’s Souls? It’s selling good and it’s got great reviews, don;t make me import it!

I am DESPERATE to get my hands on this game, it looks awesome!!

I was hoping for some Call of Duty Classic today, but I guess not..

i have almost had it with EA
they can release sims2 on the american store but not on the european one?
i know i could just go out to the shop and get it but i hated the loading times on the game, so having it on memory stick should stop it slowing down
EA IF YOUR LISTENING PLEASE PUT SIMS ON THE STORE SOON, YOUR ONE OF THE IF NOT BIGGEST GAME COMPANY SO SURELY YOU CAN GET SOMEONE TO POST IT TO PSN

Another week, another terrible update.

Posted on 3 December, 2009 at 4:22 pm by Rob_Velocity
Another week, another terrible PSN Store update and still no sign of Braid. I’m taking the final step of disavowing myself of the European PSN Store by downloading the US version of FFVII. Having FFVII on my PSP was the only thing that kept me associating the PSP with a European account but from now on, I’ll only be buying from the cheaper and better US Store. It’s the last time I’ll bother reading the European blog because it’s just a waste of time. Goodbye and goodluck – you guys need it.
Also, PSOne Classics must now be renamed to PSOne Disney Shovelware.

For those that keep mentioning the Playstations 15th birthday – its only 15 in Japan. Playstation won’t be 15 in Europe until 29th September 2010.
“Special” store updates tend to coincide with anniversaries in the relevant region.

Peter pan…:/
I’ll certainly be getting a few of those rock band 2 tracks this week (especially after delayed New Fang)
And I heard there would be a Modern Warfare 2 Theme, what happened? Does it even exist?

Posted on 3 December, 2009 at 4:25 pm by adamzag69
Great deal with Killzone liberation, but please stop with the Disney PS1 classics, they were never classics to begin with.
You obviously have a great deal with Disney but seriously for comuters like myself we need something else to play with on our psps. At least space out the Disney releases!
It’s just lucky my mum lives in America and sends me PSN gift cards. RE2, Dino Crisis, Castlevania SOTN…..need I say more
Posted on 3 December, 2009 at 4:59 pm by Mike Kebby
I understand that for some people these games are not for them, but we do have the family market to cater for also, I hope you can appreciate that.
I do understand the need for lots more adult orientated PSone Classics too though!

LBP PSP demo at last! Great, and topatoi demo too – i’ve been wondering what the gameplay mechanics are like for that one.
Dark Mist is a good possibility at that price too.:)

These methods of putting up content is got to be looked into, and changed.
This is getting ridiculous. Not a single full PSN game this week either.

How can F1 2009 still not be in the PSN Store, it’s been out for three weeks today! If this is how PSP Go owners are to be I would be very dissapointed. You very clearly stated that your aim was to release simultaneously on UMD and PSN.
Now I can understand having to wait a week or so, no problem. But three weeks and still nothing? With no estimation on when to receive it? That’s a damn shame really.

Posted on 3 December, 2009 at 4:31 pm by Marky264
I agree with Rickjes
I’m a Go Owner myself and i’m rather ****** off by having to wait with no indication why we havent had an announcment from SCEE about this nor Codemasters. This isnt really impressing me on how I should keep my Go and not opt for the GT 3000 Edition…..
Please can we have an answer about Formula 1 2009 for the Store Update?
85
Posted on 3 December, 2009 at 4:32 pm by jimmy-google
@ Rickjes
I think you’ll find Sony have, its third parties that haven’t. F1 came out the same day on UMD as Jak and Daxter, Assassins Creed and Little Big Planet. Sony and Ubisoft (though Assassins Creed didn’t work) got their games on the store but Codemasters still haven’t managed to get F1 on there.

Hi Mike, please pass on my thanks to those that were part of the catch up operation for the rock band tracks, your going to get the usual guff regarding final fantasy 8 and all that but for me I appreciate the effort taken to catch up with the rock band DLC.
Thats it, cheers muchly.

I’ve been keeping an eye on Dark Mist for quite a while now, and the price cut only makes me want it more! One thing keeps me from buying it, though, and PLEASE answer this if you can; will the extra character pack ever be released on our PSN? It was on Hong Kong’s Store ages ago, and I thought there’s a chance of it coming here. Is there?
Anyways, thanks for yet another great update and keep up the excellent work!

Posted on 3 December, 2009 at 4:35 pm by HazelAM
@person678 how do you know the devs didn’t send the ps1 titles to scee?
wouldn’t be the first time we’ve been told they hadn;t got the content when they had.
i doubt eidos, a british company based in wimbledon, would only release their tomb raider games in the us.
and do they ever go to the companies and ask them if they can put their titles on the store? or do they just sit back doing nothing and just wait.

£7.99 for MediEvil Resurrection is a good deal. I already have the game and enjoyed it greatly.
Glad there isn’t much I want to purchase cos I’m broke as it is. I’ll download the Topatoi demo though as I’ve been wanting to try it and if I like it I’ll buy it in the new year. Also will grab me the Eyepet freebies (and again the paid pack I’ll get later).

i loved the bait and switch with modern warfare and opflash
you found modern warfare vetern mode too easy, (at this point i was thinking “new stuff for modern warfare”) well we got new maps for a very bad game called operation flashpoint (ok ok he didnt word it like that but it sure was abait and switch lol

Hi Mike,
Do you know who we can ask *if* the flow trophies patch will be released in europe? I am starting to think that it isn’t going to be even though the devs at thatgamecompany have said it was sent to sony ages ago?
Update is not too bad, LBP demo and Bayonetta demo, not too shabby!
Shame Tekken 6 on PSP has not been mentioned, didn’t you say you were going to do a coming soon blog or something a while back?
Posted on 3 December, 2009 at 5:02 pm by Mike Kebby
I’d love to do a coming soon type update, but dates change so much, and some publishers keep dates under wraps right up until release day, so it would be harder to put together then I first thought

Where is VidZone, Sony at least tell us if it is delayed or what. By ignoring you make the fans really upset
Posted on 3 December, 2009 at 5:03 pm by Mike Kebby
I’m not ignoring anybody, I have just got back to my desk and I am pounding out the replies in order…VidZone should be mentioned in a separate blog post, but yes it’s coming in the store update today.

Capcom Classics Collection – I wonder if it’s the Remixed or Reloaded pack? Both are great but only one has all the Street Figher II games. Whichever it is, it’s good to see it on the store and I’ll download it at that price. Loved the Sega Megadrive one the other month.

Actually one last question. Why are Microsoft able to coordinate international same day releases but Sony can’t manager same month releases?

Very different submission process
