The subtitle issue is coming up over and over again and is being ignored. My wife is profoundly deaf and subtitles are essential.
1) Will subtitle support become available? If it isn’t then I won’t ever use this service.
2) Why has no comment yet been made about this issue? It seems that deaf users of the PSN are being ignored on this.

I know this is pretty late but I’d really love a response. I’m a big fan of films that just happen to be very hard to find or if you do they’re way too expensive.
Are you (or whoever is responsible for it) planning to add smaller/niche/international (specifically Japanese) films to the film store?
Please reply :’(

to the guy asking about backing up . i backed up the frighners film i bought to a usb stick and copied it to my other ps3 and it showed up fine but when u try watch it it says invalid protection . done some reading up on google and u.s store is like this too after them having it over a year so i doubt its gonna change so my advice is buy at your own risk coz if ps3 breaks and gets replaced your losing every penny u spent on bought films and the films

All Content is DRM’ed to the single PS3 Motherboard that it is downloaded on.
The serial numbers of the NIC and Motherboard and HDD are all used as part of the DRM.
The HDD can be replaced, The new HDD will be forced re-formated when installed. this pairs the HDD to the system, due to this re-format, after this, the Back ups can be unpacked on to the new HDD.. Thats all. Getting a refub unit from Sony Will result in you losing all Film content you payed for.
The US and Japan Stores have all gone though this allready with there users…(you did not think any of this was new to the EU stores )

I’ve just wanted to ask when it will be available in Polnad, but as I see price/what-U-get ratio is verry bad in case of this service. I se 3 major problems. First is the quality of movies. Second is time of downloading. Third is no re-download or backup option for things You buy. It is more important that hdd is not meade of rubber it has limited capacity.
In 30 minutes I can rent or buy BluRay movie for less than half the price and get ideal quality. In PSN I will have pay more to get less (quality, no cover, no medium, film on HDD with limited capacity, waiting to get movie, internet link utilization, etc…).
SONY: If You fail the start-up there will be verry hard to fix reputation. On the other hand if You make price/what-U-get ratio more attractive You can take a major position moving customers to from real rentals and stores to Your service.

Price is still a sore point for me. You charge full price for a digital download, which 90% of the time I can buy a hard copy for much cheaper. But, with you I loose ALL bonus features, commentaries, deleted scenes etc. Plus buying a hard copy gives me subtitles, 5.1, and the option to buy a HD version on Blu-ray for a few pounds more than you charge for a stripped down crapy SD version. Are you insane?!! You honestly believe you’re not ripping the consumers off?
Please tell me why I should pay MORE for your digital download (without ALL the extras), than buy a superior hard copy (with ALL the extras) for much cheaper?

One last point:
I’ve noticed you only reply to messages that suck up to you. Any chance you’ll answer one of the thousands of complaints? Something tells me you don’t actually have a clue how this service works, and you’re simply ‘public relations’. I bet you didn’t even know what people ment by “5.1″, until you asked someone last week?
So we put all our hopes for this mess of a service (which Sony obviously rushed out for Christmas), in Olga’s hands……?

They Dont work SAT and SUN normaly so won’t reply.
PRICES are FIXED BUY Movie studios.
Its the same in US and Japan If you visit ITUNES, Amazon.com and so on… The SD Download to own ALL cost the Same price on Launch day.
Same reason YOU can’t rent a Actual New release films. The Movie studios Have Deals with DVD/BD Rental companies. Did you realy think Blockbusters/Lovefilm Were just going to Give up all PS3, AppleTV. PC users just like that. Example = Money lost buy Releasing films to rental download the day of the Cinema release would be massive they won’t do it.

So…. Ice Age now has 5.1 sound, what if we purchased these films before these were released? Is Sony going to screw us over and expect us to buy them again?
Or (the more sensible option) change the download file so if we download them again they will have the updated versions?

Two complaints.
1) Pricing is still an issue. As long as you can buy so many of the titles on DVD for less than it costs to *rent* them on this service, it’s not going get purchases from a lot of people. A one-price-fits-all structure makes no sense here.
2) We need an official statement from SCEE to put an end to any discussion in this thread – you need to come out behind the undeniable truth that The Muppet Christmas Carol is not only the greatest Christmas film of all time, but one of the greatest films of all time period.

@ influenceuk
You have not bothered to look on the store. SD versions Do not get 5.1 audio Only the HD rental versions do.
SD files will need to PLAY on PSP.

If anyone is thinking of downloading the movie “Eraser” don’t bother there is cuts all over the place and bad ones at that like you can hear the music changing from the scenes really quickly, there must be like 5 maybe 10 minutes missing in total of the movie all action scenes too.

Great idea, been waiting for this for some time, however….
Downloaded Angels & Demons, yeah I know but the book was ridiculous movie fun. Download took most of a day on a 20Mb/s connection! Picture was a little fuzzy but ok to start, later in the movie dark scenes were murky & really poor quality, if it was a blu-ray it would have gone back to the shop.
Later I checked and the HD rent was 720p, the freebie video downloads, Movement & the demo’s are better than this! The price is high $=£ I’ll pay the price if the quality is good, HD rents need to be as good as bluray or what’s the point?
The downloads take so long I can wait for the store to open in the morning, rent the blu-ray, watch it in the evening all before the (low quality) download has finished!!
More server bandwidth, more quality and you will get my money, PS3 is a great media system this should be showcasing, not showing it up!
