The PSB.Europe weekly reading list (week commencing the 30th of November)
Quite a light list of news this week (blame the time of the year for that), but that doesn’t mean there isn’t some interesting stuff in here. Between reviews for some great games (those of you who haven’t picked up Critter Crunch — or at least tried the demo — are missing out), but there’s also some news about one of next year’s big PSP titles — Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.
Not only that, but it was PlayStation’s 15th birthday this week! Join us in celebrating a decade and a half of groundbreaking interactive entertainment. Here’s to another 15, and beyond!
As well as your favourite links, let us know in the comments below what your first ever PlayStation experience was. For me, it was Crash Bandicoot 1 on a 14″ TV with a classic grey controller (sans analogue sticks).

Had me Resident Evil Directors Cut for christmas 1997 but no PlayStation to play it on because of a christmas shortage. My dad took me searching for one and a few days later we got one. Also picked up Soul Blade (still enjoy that game far more than any Soul Calibur or Tekken) and Time Crisis with the gun. All 3 games were fantastic and already made my purchase of the PS1 worth every penny and got a couple of my friends buying PlayStations as well after coming over to play on mine.
Also showed me what a total waste of money my N64 was. Only game I really ever enjoyed on that was Starfox 64 (or Lylat Wars as it was known here). I had a Saturn too but only really for the 2D Capcom fighters that my PS1 struggled with (though Street Fighter Alpha 3 I felt was pretty darn good on PS1). Been very happy with my PS2, PSP and PS3 as well.

Crash Bandicoot 1 on a 14 inch screen at mates house. I only had a snes at the time but nagged to get a PS after that.

It’s like we’re the same person!
Except I never had a SNES — I went from the Master System to the PS1. Pretty big jump!

Afraid i was late to the game, starting with a PS2. My first experience was on Ratchet and Clank at my friends house – that was the game that sold the PS2 to me and got me to change from my N64

I wish Sony would remake the Tech-Demos (T-Rex, Manta Ray and V-CD) from the very first demo disc.

Is it really so necessary to say europe in the title name of each of these posts? It’s not like we don’t know.

My first ever playstation experience…
Well, it must have been Crash Bandicoot. I seriously love that game (bought it again from the store). And when my friend came over we played digimon.. Lol. I played Crash Bash with my sister alot to…
Oh and there’s a spelling mistake. In the first part it says “ome” witch should be “some”

my first psx experience was the demo of abe’s oddyssee :] followed by the game itself (still have it!) and after that came FF VII and i think after that was either tomb raider or tekken2… can’t remember.
and yes, critter crunch is the best PSN game i bought so far!

I love Critter Crunch but it gets extremely difficult towards the end! Also, a lot of luck is involved in completing certain stages. Luck in the way that your critters arrive. For instance, try finishing one of the more difficult stages when there are no bombs or other special critters on screen to assist you.

my first experiance on a playstation console was jurrasic park and crash bandicoot 1 on the PS1 and ever since then i’ve owned ALL the playstation consoles (discluding the PSone the smaller version of the PS1).
I think i stand for everyone when i say the crash bandicoot series was the best playstation game EVER becasue the majority of playstation 1 owners can remember playing crash bandicoot and being addicted to it.

Another 15 years won’t be applicable if you let Xbox keep running circles around you while the Wii kicks your gonads..
My first game was Abes Oddysee on a small screen..when the US got it on the PSN, I thought “Happy days! I can finally play stitch-lips in HD!”
Then I forgot I live in EUROPE and we get the scraps….but, at least I can play Abe in HD circa 2057. Hell, Oddworld Inhabitants want to bring their Xbox games to PSN! You guys can’t even give the EU a backscratcher!
“It is the year of classics” to quote N4G, They must mean the US, considering we get the f**king duds such as Peter Pan, Mickey Mouse, Lilo and Stitch and Bass Fishing.
