Hello High Velocity Bowlers
Did you enjoy tossing around scruffy Jarvis and sexy Ginger in PAIN?
Well, now you can finally see them standing safely on their feet and watch them be the ones who “launch” in High Velocity Bowling!
Yes, that’s right, Jarvis and Ginger are coming as downloadable characters and will be available from this Thursday on PlayStation Store at € 0.99/£0.79.
And they each come with their own customised alley and ball !
Ready to strike? Look below for more info!
Happy Holidays Bowling fans! 2009 is almost over and we wanted to close the year out with a PAINful Xmas! That’s right…Jarvis and Ginger are coming to High Velocity Bowling. These each come with a new customized bowling lane and bowling ball!
For those late bloomers who haven’t played the game yet, now’s the perfect time to try it out. It uses the SIXAXIS motion sensors so you hold the controller and swing your arm like you’re throwing the ball. With 4-player local play and 2-player online, it’s great fun for family and friends, and can be had for only €7.99 on PSN. In addition to the eight quirky, unique characters included in the base game, there are a bunch of other downloadable characters and ball packs available via in-game commerce or the PlayStation Store as well, on top of Jarvis and Ginger coming this week.
Here’s the breakdown of the goodies coming this Thursday:
Characters
Jarvis
His love for pain, and fearlessness around danger has developed his strength as an extreme athlete. This has helped his power in the alley immensely. However, with recklessness comes carelessness. His accuracy isn’t the greatest, but this never detracts him from going all out.
Ginger
With her experience and proficiency at handling balls of all sizes, her accuracy in the lane is impeccable. But, since she loves the way she looks in her uniform, Ginger likes to take it slow down the lane to ensure she doesn’t get herself dirty.
Here’s a video of these two in action on their new lanes.
Ball Packs
Winter Holiday Ball Pack
The Winter Holiday Ball Pack was inspired by the gift of giving and puffy snow, including two showcase balls.
Animal Patterns
The Animal Pattern Ball Pack was inspired by the instinctual character of the world’s wildlife, including two showcase balls.
We hope you enjoy all the new goodies from HVB family. Happy Holidays, and thanks again from SD Studios for all your support!

I wish I had more time to revisit some of my older games like HVB, but there is so much good new stuff that it’s hard to find the time!
Given that HVB probably has the most unique use of SIXAXIS motion control, which basically mimics how you would control it with the Wand, is it safe to assume that it will be one of the first games to be patched for the ‘Sony Motion Controller’? (any news of a final name btw?)
I wonder if it will overlay a little video feed of you holding a virtual bowling ball in your hand too…

Is there any chance of patching HVB so that the game save isn’t locked anymore? Its ridiculous that you cant back up the save for this game.
I lost all progress in my game because I couldn’t carry the save across from my old 60gb to my new slim.
I’m not investing a penny into the DLC for this game until its fixed.
BTW it says ‘can be had for only $9.99′ in the grey box above, needs changed.

Haven’t loaded this game for a long time. I haven’t even clocked the game because it was too hard and gave up easily haha. The wii version is easier and more family friendly!!!

maybe you can answer what scee have done with the flow trophy patch, the devs say they’ve given it to scee but on the extremely rare occasion somebody does reply to a question, outside thursday’s store update article, we just get told scee doesn’t have it.
so where is it?
somebody with the title european product manager for scee should be able to get some answers.
truthful ones hopefully.

I’ll say it again and hopefully my comment won’t be deleted this time. If it is deleted please email me explaining why as I’d like to talk to someone in management about it.
“Fun for the family”? The character Ginger is overtly sexual,in my opinion that is not family entertainment and also in my opinion this game, like most other things on PSN is too expensive for what it is and to me does not represent value for money.

i don’t see there’s any real problem with the ginger character.
it’s not like there’s any nudity there, just a little tame innuendo, of the kind you’d expect from a carry on film.
and if short skirts and low cut tops are a problem for you i wouldn’t go out in the summer.
can’t disagree with you about the price of many items on the store though.
though i have played this game and it is fun, in my opinion one of the few psn games that are worth the purchase price.
