So, we’re into the business end of the year; three more store updates to go, and then the festivities begin.
Things are ramping up in terms of content, and I’m sure there is something that caters to everyone’s tastes in each of the updates that round out the year. We’ll also have a new batch of Special Offers next week to see out the year too, so keep your eyes peeled for those.
To start us off this week though, for PS3 we have the anticipated PixelJunk Shooter, combining old school mechanics and the usual quirky styling you expect from the guys behind the PixelJunk games.
Moving on to the PSP, we have a new batch of minis available (don’t forget from the 17th minis will be playable on PS3 too), and you can also grab digital copies of Avatar and Tekken 6 (this title is not available until Friday however) too.
Finally, it’s worth mentioning that there is additional Metal Gear Solid love for PSP this week, with the digital releases of Portable Ops, Portable Ops + and the Digital Graphic Novel.
There is plenty more available however, so for the full run down of content, scroll down for more.

Quite a good update in terms of content (and a great price for Portable Ops) but £31.99 for Tekken 6 (which was going to be an instant buy for me)?????
Consider my order placed with any of a number of online retailers where its about £10 cheaper…
Sorry to all PSPgo owners

Thanks Mike, great update – looking forward to getting my hands on F1.
Don’t suppose you know if there’s any plans for Pixel Junk Shooter to be released on the PSP at all? I enjoyed Monsters much more on the psp than on the ps3 (still a great game on both).

What? So I bought the Uncharted motion comics separately, and now they come with multiplayer skins? I want my money back, that is ridiculous! Also, does this mean that the first comic is not a video when bought in the bundle but put under the game icon? If that’s the case then I am annoyed.

with regards to people asking about portable ops + – i dont believe it contains the single player. think of it akin to an expansion pack, with plenty of odd extra content. such as MGS4′s old snake being a playable character.

Hiya Kebster
Nice update once again. P. Shooter is looking great!
Btw: Do you play any Borderlands? Or is it too much FPS & too little RPG for you? I loved Fallout 3 & I’m loving this.
Posted on 10 December, 2009 at 2:26 pm by Mike Kebby
Borderlands is one of my highlights this year, two of my good friends and I have been playing this for the past few weeks

Mike Kebby: “It’s coming…”
What does that mean? The Dante’s Inferno demo is supposed to come in today’s update, isn’t it? So where is it, and when is it coming?
Posted on 10 December, 2009 at 2:28 pm by Mike Kebby
No it’s not meant to be release today, what I mean is you’ll definitely see the demo in one of the next two updates.

Hi Mike,
Can you update us when “Disney’s Tarzan” is released, it’s an SCEE game so hopefully no issues getting this classic to the store ASAP?
81

Road Hazard it will be with us on the 24th Dec, the US will have it in their update today as its exclusive to the US PSN Store

No FFVIII, Vagrants Story FF Tactics or Ninja Gaiden table for Zen Pinball, so nothing this week for me (yup, I will be repeating this weekly until they come out), however, the “Heads Up” is appreciated.
Posted on 10 December, 2009 at 2:29 pm by Mike Kebby
I can say this – none of those titles are coming in December, sory.
83
Posted on 10 December, 2009 at 2:26 pm by TehDarkLocke
Ahh crap… thanks anyways, Crash 2 is my favorite one of the Crash PS1 games
Can you tell Konami that lots of people want Pro Evo 2010 on the store? I want it too >_<
One more question: Any "good" (by the standards of the blog comments, lol) PSOne Classics coming by the end of the year?
84

thanks for answering my question mike , my one last question is if you can plz answer any news on earth worm Jim arriving before Xmas , heard it was coming sometime in December

No word on this, but definitely not this month.

Posted on 10 December, 2009 at 2:27 pm by RoadHazard
@dalts85: When was that decided? In the original news about the demo there wasn’t a word about it being US exclusive. Oh well, I’ll just have to wait until the US Store updates, then… Things like this are so silly, since everyone I know has both a EU and a US PSN account anyway.

Any official work on the Minis compatibility with the PS3? Apparently there’s only 3 that work.
Thanks for the update btw.
Posted on 10 December, 2009 at 2:31 pm by Mike Kebby
The full list will be included in next week’s update.
There are a lot more than 3 that are compatible for both formats though

@ljforlozz – You need to order google by price, not just relevance: £22.99 new
Gameplay.co.uk
@dalts85 “Publishers set the price not SCEE” – I would guess that publishers set the RRP, Sony decide how much profit they want on it, e.g. if shops are able to retail it at £22.99 then I guess Sony could too?
Mike if you can get the price down to £22.99 can you let us know? Ta

Hi Mike,
Dylan cross-posted an update about PJShooter to the US blog where he mentions: “Oh and I almost forgot the extra good news! To celebrate the launch of PixelJunk Shooter and the holidays, starting December 22nd, the PS Store will be offering a 3-in-1 combo deal of Racers, Monsters *and* Eden altogether for just [$]19.99! Even if you already own one of them it is a fantastic deal! As Deb Mars always says, we love spreading that PixelJunk love and here is a great reason to do so for your family and friends. Take the PixelJunk plunge and see what the fuss is all about!”
Will a similar bundle be available here?
Posted on 10 December, 2009 at 2:32 pm by Mike Kebby
Unfortunately not – but we will be looking to do something PJ related after Christmas though hopefully.

I am pleased I choose to get Soul Caliber rather than Tekken seeing the price.
I think I might get Portable Ops though. Tempted by F1 2009, but I already have loads of other driving games so might not.
