Nice thing this Vidzone stuff, we got in Denmark last week. But I am quite disappointed that it consist of so lowres videos and so bad sound quality.
Hoping for some HD content (or just SD content) someday.

Even the UI is one of the worst on the PS3 seen from a usability perspective its still a nice service. But why, why the unlogic structure off things and very badly mapped controller layout.

how long does it take to start up the first time cause its already loading 30 mniuits

how about an option to turn off the notice that shows what you are listening to in your friends list, i feel this is rather intrusive as we have to be logged in to use Vidzone. i don’t mind it saying i’m using the Vidzone service but to point out the track(s) i’m listening to as well is a bit much. we do have a right to some privacy you know.

ps: good work on rolling out to more countries.

A couple of comments:
- Would be nice if the search function was possible to use with keyboard for those of us that have one.
- Would be nice if one could save current playlist (i.e. the list of currently playing tracks)
- Would be nice if one could hit a button to recommend a video to a friend
- I would love if the service would recommend me new videos based on what kind of music I watch most
- I did find the design slightly cluttered at first, minor issue though and I will probably get used to it quickly

Generally this is pretty impressive stuff, especially considering the price!:)

which button can i press to randomize my playlist?

Could someone explain why many artists are listed but when you select them, it says there are no matches? Why are artists listed if there are no videos for them? Seems illogical and a little unfair.

Well we’ve got many songs in different languages on Vidzone. French, German, Dutch, Spanish, Italian, Swedish (I thin), Polish / Russian, something Eastern European that is… and even Chinese… but… why no Japanese? There are many great Japanese artists we know from games… Yae for instance who sang the title song of Star Ocean III, Rikki, FFX, Tsukiko Amano the Project Zero songs and to be honest, they sound a whole lot better and more familiar with Western music than all that… no offence, Chinese junk.

Just a suggestion, I think a lot of Anime fans would love that as well.

Oops Yae isn’t from Star Ocean…. She was from a song from FF Crystal Chronicles… haha… never mind… forgot the name of the singer, but you know what I mean.

The application is awesome I use it all the time for parties.
However I’d love to see some improvements.

-Include a store, so many great songs If I could pay a subscription fee and be able to Download X many MP3′s per month. It’s difficult finding ligitamite versions of the songs online.
- More options for buffering, I can pause a song until the buffer is ready. Sometimes this causes a crash. It would be great to have the option to begin streaming the next song before the current one ends.
- Favorite, or most played lists. Like a top ten user selection.
- Friends support, what have my friends been listening to?

All in all a great program. But like many PS3 features I’m having to tell people what it is and how to get it. As awesome as the PSN is I’m finding so few people use it.

Good work with Vidzone, love it! When it works that is…
I have been having problems since firmware 3.10, I have posted on the forums but are getting no repsonses to help. I can launch Vidzone with no problems but when it comes to playing a video nothing happens unless I wait 10 or more minutes then it loads very slowly. It takes about 20 minutes to load 1 song… any ideas? Im not the only one I know with this problem.

Where is all the metal videos?

Been looking forward to Vidzone for so long now. Now i have it, im very disappointed in the lack of content. Maybe its just NZ that gets the shaft, but when i click on an artist, i see either no videos available, or some random song thats not even popular.
Take Def Leppard for example, One song! and its Nine Lives, [DELETED]
Thats just one example of many, Duran Duran, David Bowie etc…
and no Megadeth!

Ben, Could you fix the Advertisement problem? The video at times doesn’t load when it shows it’s loading and stay like that until you go through another advertisement around VidZone then quit back to Vidzone. It’s the only way i know to go back on Vidzone still having the same music you quit it on.

PLEASE CAN YOU GUYS FIX IT? It get so annoying.

it works without any problems…
basicly they disabled the vidzone for users of a different country.
which is being based on the dns-name using your ipadres.
eg. 213.75.63.14 is the ipadres of hetnet.nl
so basicly the block all the .nl resolvers

i wonder if it would have worked with .com providers in the EU region

but now,when its live,we can use all regions using the different logins (same as with home)
or even more fun,using a vpn-proxy to connect to a server in the US and buy movies using your dutch account
