The PSB.Europe weekly reading list (week commencing the 7th of December)
Did you hear? PixelJunk Shooter is now out! Judging from the reviews below, people are really enjoying it. If you’re interested in good games, you’ll definitely want to give it a try. Speaking of good games, Dead Space’s sequel was formally announced this week for a release next year. Can’t wait.
[Update] Updated with all the great news that came out of this year’s Spike Video Game Awards. Not only did Uncharted 2 come away with the Game Of The Year award (ultra-congrats to the awesome talent at Naughty Dog!), but Flower won Best Independant Game and the next Rock Band title was announced alongside sequels to Batman: Arkham Asylum and The Force Unleashed. Wow — so much for news being slow in December.

Cheers Bonyman, I’ve added that to this week’s list.
For future reference, Bit.ly links are far less likely to get broken up by our comment system.

We’re still looking into exactly how/when we’ll be able to release the God Of War Collection in Europe, but we should have news for you quite soon.

Hi Jem, Simila to Carnivius_Prime, I take it from your pointing at a review of GoW Collection that it is confirmed for europe now?

The God of War Collection was confirmed to be getting a release in Europe ages ago, Sony Europe just said it wasn’t coming this year.

Hey Jem, there is a spell error. You tagged this post ‘playstatation blog’. Shouldn’t it be ‘playstation blog’?
Posted on 13 December, 2009 at 6:18 pm by Jem Alexander
Nope. Didn’t you hear? We’re changing the name. It’s “PlayStatation.Blog” now.
(By which I mean “thanks for catching, I’ll fix this immediately”)

Congratulations Sony,ND and That Game company!
On other news,I´d like to make a suggestion. Considering that the in game friend, messages and throphy notification boxes look so unattractive could you Jem pass the idea of a different,sleeker,black-y and more vibrant ones to the update team?
Cheers and go Sony!

@Jem
Hey Jem, I’ve compiled a small list of enhancements that I would like to see added to the PlayStation Store and if you could please take a quick look over the list, and please pass it along to the appropriate people if you can. The link is as followed.

Hoping a firmware update in the near future allows each user to log in to their respective account during multiplayer(i.e Friend comes over to play Spec Ops on MW2 , he can log in to his PSN account and I log in to mine; we both play and unlock trophies on our accounts).

Rocksteady Games and Flower win at the VGAs, nice work guys!
Batman: Arkham Asylum and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed to be continued, awesome news, I’m a big fan of both IPs.

you’re actually saying you still don’t know when or even if we’ll actually get the god of war collection in europe?
how is it that scee can become so useless or hated by the other divisions that getting a sony owned title released in your region has become such a problem?
people keep making the excuse for store titles that it’s up to the game’s publisher, well in this case the publisher is sony, i ask what’s the problem now for gods sake?
and you seem surprised when people criticise scee, you surely can’t be, helen keller could see why people are annoyed with this company.

Come on HazelAM, you know /exactly/ what Jem meant. GoW Collection’s coming out over here, but when hasn’t been decided yet. Chill out!

i just don’t have as much faith in scee as you do obviously.
and i think jem is not undeserving of the criticism i’m heaping on him, i’ve made my point time and time again about this rock he seems intent in hiding under, replying to only the most unimportant, trivial and flippant comments, the one important question he’s answered for weeks was the question about the god of war collection and his answer seemed to be “we don’t know”.
yeah maybe i go on a bit, but so long as they keep failing i’ll keep going on, so i’d get used to it
need i remind people of this yet again
Jem
“I’ll make sure you see more replies on here from now on. That’s one of the main purposes of the blog, after all.”
just when exactly is this actually going to come into effect?
mike is the only person here who interects with us, but, no offense to the guy, i just don’t trust his information any more.
how much content are we being told they haven’t recieved while it’s sitting on a hard drive in “the dungeon” somewhere?
and where are the flow trophies jem?
you gonna keep ignoring this one?
or are you going to tell us why scee are sitting on the patch?

Hi Hazel,
“How” does not equal “if”. We’re still looking into the best way to release the God of War Collection in Europe, but trust me when I say we should have some more info soon.
As for author comments, I’m not going to share specific numbers with you, but we’re seeing a healthy increase month over month, since I made that pledge, and I’m going to continue to stress to all who post on the Blog how important this is.
As for Flow Trophies, I haven’t been ignoring the community’s requests for this. I’ve made some enquiries and while I don’t have anything to share right now, we should have news on this soon, too. When we do, you’ll see it first here on the Blog.

thank you for your reply, shame it’s necessary to hound people so much to get it.
i said this last time there was an important issue that took ages to get an answer on that you don’t have to give us a long post about the issue, just let us know that you’re actually doing something about it.
a little “i’ll look into it” from time to time would make a world of difference and will only take a few seconds.
nobody likes to feel they’re being ignored.
and then of course you have to do what you say you’re going to do, no point just talking about it, communication is good but without actions to back it up it’s just more words.
and when you do find out what the problem is i hope steps will be taken to stop this kind of thing happening again, don’t just rush this one through testing after it’s been sitting on a hard drive for god knows how long and then let it just happen again, because that doesn’t help anybody.
far too much content is getting lost by scee.
