Hi guys,
We have an enormous PlayStation Home update for you tomorrow – including three new spaces and a bevy of brand new items. Here’s everything you need to know:
First up, we have a brand new SCEE event coming to you tomorrow themed around the awesome retro PSN shooter Gravity Crash, aptly titled: Gravity Crash: Maze to the Mothership!
Head for the Presentation Podium (located under the PS Home stack of chips) where you will find an enormous PSN logo that will teleport you to the brand new neon maze. There are two prizes on offer here, one if you complete the maze (which isn’t easy) and another for collecting all of the crystals along the way (which is even harder!). Successful maze-completers will be rewarded with a fully animated Gravity Crash suit for their avatar (one of the best costumes yet if I do say so myself…)
As always, this space will only be open for a limited time so make sure you head on over to the Presentation Podium ASAP for some retro mazing action.
It’s arrived, the first wave of LittleBigPlanet content for PS Home is here!
First up, we have a selection of fresh and funky LittleBigPlanet clothing items for your avatar, take your pick from a selection of hoodies, t-shirts, jeans and caps – see below for an assortment of these scrumptious designs:
However that’s not all, we also have an array of cardboard-created LittleBigPlanet furniture for your personal space – including a selection of sofas, footstools, chairs and a particularly smashing rug. Check out the screenshots below:
A couple of the sofas fit together so let’s see what you can create out of these new bits and pieces…
Plus, as an added festive bonus, as of tomorrow, you will be able to game launch into the LittleBigPlanet Blu-ray from within PS Home. Lovely.
Both the clothing and new furniture items can be found in the Shopping Centre (in the Home Threads and Furniture stores respectively) – oh, and keep your eyes on the EU blog for more info on upcoming LittleBigPlanet Home content – it’s going to be worth the wait…
The SingStar Rooms: VIP
Now, for a somewhat funkier festive experience, why not head on over to The SingStar Rooms where the VIP space has re-opened its doors!
Completely re-decked and re-themed, (after the Dizzee Rascal gig) why not (if the elves in the Winter Wonderland are proving too troublesome
) hit the dancefloor for a trendier festive experience?
There’s a new mini-game (keep an eye on the newly installed spotlights
) which, if completed successfully, will reward you with a magnificent new present, plus, there’s loads of new musical content on the rooftop jumbo screen.
As always, The SingStar Rooms: VIP will be open for a limited time only so make sure you get in there before it closes its doors in preparation for the next event!
Audi Space
Now last, but by no means least, as Alex mentioned last week, tomorrow will see the launch of the fantastic new Audi space. Make sure you hit the Virtual Run mini-game in the brand-new e-tron for your chance to win a spanking new personal space. This really isn’t one you want to miss out on.
I’ll be around for a while if you have any comments, otherwise I’ll see you soon in PS Home.
iELL / Elliott

Wasn’t there going to be a LittleBigPlanet Game Space?
I heard of it on Wikipedia, all of their Game Space predictions seem to be correct, they were all correct last time.
Can someone please confirm this.

the only thing i find sad about home and other playstation things is that they are not world wide.
i know that some games for example are released but other publishers in other areas so they might not get released in some countries and that some events might be region specific but i do believe that home spaces and most events should be worldwide .
it would give us a more unified feel thus establishing e better community.
anyway keep up the good work on home and ill be jumping in and out of home to see whats new.
PS. i think videos in home stream a bit slow.

Gravity Crash is great and I hope it and the developers JAW are given a permanent space in Home. I will definitely be aiming for that GC suit !
I’d love a Gravity Crash styled personal space (ok I’ll stop with GC demands!).
A good update for Home and I hope SCEE manage to continue the good work.

So what about the Pixel Junk Shooter stuff we can unlock through the game? Will it actually be added to Home tomorrow?
Abit stupid to have the game tell us we’ve unlocked stuff for Home yet the actual content wasnt ready for the games release.

Like someone mentioned before, Home would be even better if the content was the same for all regions. At least, I wish there was one webpage where I could check Home blueprint and log for each region.
The giant content update looks great. Home is definitely getting big ;D

LOL Home I think the money that Sony spend on this should be spent on better servers for games etc

goddamnit, there goes my comment again cause it was too long [DELETED]..
anyway point of the comment was : everything that is actually worth getting, costs money (eventhough claiming home is a free experience), and on top of that, it costs WAY too much, over 2 bucks for a simple piece of furniture or clothing is just outrageous..ive spent so much money on that crap and hardly even visit home..so either make the good stuff cheaper or don’t put in any paid stuff at all.. like in this example, sure the lbp stuff looks nice, but why do we have to pay for it? basically we’re promoting the game by wearing that stuff, why should we have to pay for that? especially if it costs an arm and a leg..and then claiming Home is a free experience..but all the somewhat good stuff worth getting costs money.. i also hope to see you guys do something more with home than just the socializing/minigaming aspect..personally i only visit home to quickly check out some new cloths i purchased, which are pretty much not even worth purchasing if you’re not spending any time in home after that anyway.. especially not for those kind of prizes.. same goes for most dlc in general..it’s all wayyy too expensive..

i shouldn’t have to ask, but this being home i feel compelled to wonder.
is the gravity crash suit available for women?
i know i ask that almost every time but that’s because you almost always only show pictures of the mens version.
and i notice you skipped over this question earlier in the comments.
Posted on 17 December, 2009 at 10:09 am by Elliott Linger
Hi HazelAM,
THe GC costume is indeed available for female avatars.
(+ there’s a unique selection of female only LBP clothing items).

Posted on 17 December, 2009 at 10:29 am by HazelAM
thanks elliot, that’s what i wanted to know.

could you look into getting pictures of the female versions of these reward items as well as the mens version in future though, wouldn’t need to ask then
might even buy some of those lbp items when my store card arrives, if they’re reasonably priced.
though you’ve got to compete with the comic store for my money now.
tell you what, get me a wonder woman or supergirl, or spider-woman, batgirl/woman or ms marvel, costume and i promise you i’ll buy them
heck, bring out a range of superhero costumes and i guarantee you’ll see record sales.

Owww nice, thanks to these updates and the Santa tasks I’m checking Home at least every day now.
I have a few comments though, why t-shirts? Its Winter now, plus why can’t your Harbour be adapted to local weather. I live in Holland and there’s a bit of snow outside and cold, not sunny and warm, same goes for the Plaza.
Also the amount of hairstyle is still limited. I have middle long curly hair, but still none of that in the list.
Those LBP stuff is probably gonna cost some fortune isn’t it? Well I’ve decided that if I plan to visit Home more often I’ll spend about 5 Euro each month.
And indeed Gravity Crash is a real “blast”

Ow another thing, there’s a glitch in the Tree House! Certain items which I want to place in my house, is being stuck in the stairway and there’s no way I can get it out from there

May i ask why the media molecule/Sony team don’t release those t-shirts for real? Id snap some up they look fantastic.

Hi maybe a little off topic here, just wondering if you could help?
I seem to have lost the penthouse home space, and i seem to need to repurchase it(gone from download list). Just wondering if there is anyone i can contact, as i still have the purchase conformation email(cost me £3.99). Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

How far to have to get in the Audi vertical run to win the Audi home space??
79
Posted on 17 December, 2009 at 5:03 pm by SiRobertson
The Audi Vertical Run game is extremely frustrating, I’m not a hardcore game player but I play games on a regular basis, and I’m finding the Vertical Run game difficult to say the least. I cannot for the life of me get a score higher than 720 but there are people getting scores of 4000+ which seems very suspect. The game requires more luck than skill.
So, how exactly do we win the apartment? Do we need to reach a certain score or do we need to score more than 3000+ to get onto the leader board? The latter would be an insane requirement.

Hello Elliot
Did I happen to see you at SingStar VIP area just moments ago?

Posted on 17 December, 2009 at 7:59 pm by zonaw
SiRobertson: it’s not game of luck, more itäs question of knowledge.
And yes, I got the Audi space.

Posted on 17 December, 2009 at 8:08 pm by Phil_E
what score did u get when you won. I just scored over 1400 and didnt get it.
83
Posted on 17 December, 2009 at 8:09 pm by SiRobertson
@zonaw
Can you let us know how it’s done then please. Hitting all of the reds and avoiding most of the blues (some of which seem to be unavoidable at speed) still doesn’t get me anywhere near the 1000m mark. I’m stuck at about 720m
84
Posted on 17 December, 2009 at 8:17 pm by Phil_E
if you collect the lightning bolts, press x after you’ve jumped and it gives you boost in the air. Just got 1500, no apartment.
85
Posted on 17 December, 2009 at 8:29 pm by SiRobertson
Ah ok, so go fast around the track to build up the boost bar thing, collect the lightning bolts along the way, then (I’m guessing) you hit the X button in the air after the boost has run out.
I’ll give that a try in a minute. I really hope we don’t have to get on the leader board to win the apartment though, the minimum score was somewhere around the 3500 mark last time I looked.
86
Posted on 17 December, 2009 at 8:38 pm by Phil_E
3000 points is the point you win the apartment. Just got it, as soon as you get to 3000 massive red letters say YOU WON THE AUDI APARTMENT. big hint, use the lightning boost things when you start to slow, don’t use them in quick succession, let each one work before you use the next.
87
Posted on 17 December, 2009 at 8:52 pm by SiRobertson
Good stuff! I just got 2666m using the lightning bolts after leaving the ramp… it’s only taken me most of the day.
Hopefully after a few more tries I will finally get the apartment.
