[Update 2] Our issues have now been resolved and Blue Toad Episode 2 (and the Episode 1 + 2 Bundle) are now back on the store! We apologise again for the inconvenience.
[Update] Apologies for the inconvenience some of you have had with Blue Toad Murder Files Episode 2 (and the Bundle of Episodes 1 and 2), we are working on our error now, and will have the correct files up on the store for download again very soon.
Those of you who have already downloaded this content should delete the original content from your console, and then download the content again from your download list later today. As of writing this, the problem is still being rectified, but it should be resolved very soon.
Many thanks for your patience, and apologies again for the inconvenience.

Good morning – the store will be updated nice and early today, so I’m still a little bleary eyed
Our batch of special offers for the festive period begins today, but we’ll also be adding a few more titles next week too. From today though, you’ll be able to grab games such as Burn Zombie Burn!, Bomberman Ultra and Battlefield 1943 at lower prices.
Also following the firmware update last week, minis now join the fun on PS3, so you can now enjoy the majority of our minis on both formats.
Next week we’re updating the store on Tuesday the 22nd of December, and then that’s it for the holidays – normal service will resume from Thursday the 7th of January.
Finally, as a personal Christmas gift to some of you lucky, lucky readers, I have some codes I’ll be giving out over the next week – there is no competition to enter – all I’ll be doing is scouring your comments and giving codes out to those who have left constructive/commendable feedback (think of this as a ‘letter of the week’ type deal, except it’s more ‘comments of the week’). These codes will be sent from my store management PSN account and will give you your code directly, so it’ll be safe and secure.
Hopefully all the above will give you additional festive cheer, and I’ll see you in the comments as usual.
Laters!

GT Time trial Demo
Army of Two demo
Peace Walker demo
My oh my the stores on fire today. Next tuesday ADHOC party and Dante’s inferno demo, things just keep on getting better. Since after E3 this year Sony have really come out to play.
What do you guys think of being able to play PSP games on the PS3, of course you still need a psp connected to the PS3 for it to act as a controller.
Thanks to you Mike and the team for the update

EPIC is the word to describe that update. Thanks to you and all the team for the work you have put in over this year to make the Thursday store update something to really look forward to. The post’s on the blog really give us a good feel for whats included in the update and you deal with all the comments really well.
Before the blog the forums used to be full of moaning, and “America got this and we didn’t” comments, i am sure to some extent on here and the forums it still continues but the updates have been getting better and better each week with at least a demo or game pack to consider, this weeks is the best yet and what a way to nearly end the year!
I have followed the journey of the PSN from the start and to look at how far it has come in a few years is staggering. I look forward to what the PSN has in store for 2010 and beyond and the continued dedication of you and your team.

Oh 1 more thing, i like the singstar viewer, because i don’t have to put my disc in just to see the new updates, but is it possible to put the songs on the store like you do with the rock band songs? If you did, it would attract more customers, but also it would let us singstar players background download the ‘large in bulk’ songs. I understand it may not be possible because the download list for singstar is in services, and not the normal download list, but it would still be exellent.

Great update Mike, defo gonna give Burn Zobie Burn a go at that price
. And you do realise that the promise of free codes for comment of the week, will
a) probably produce a record number of comments and break the blog
b) may even reduce the number of people moaning about what we haven’t received this week.
PS Will Tuesdays update be an equally massive one?
Posted on 17 December, 2009 at 11:59 am by Mike Kebby
Hehe, maybe – we’ll see
Tuesday’s update won’t be a massive one no, this is the last biggie of the year.

Dead Head Fred for £2.39 is insanely good value.
This week I shall be mostly downloading:
Peace Walker Demo
Braid
GT Academy
Dead Head Fred
Crash Team Racing
Singstar Viewer
I’ll probably get Blue Toad over Christmas as well (one to enjoy with my Leyton-addict mother when she comes to visit).
PSN store ending a great 2009 with a flourish.

Hi Mike,
Thank you for the update. It’s my first time posting here, and I was just wondering if, for future blog posts, you’d be able to add the size of the files next to each item, as is done with the US Blog update.
I only have a 2MB connection, so the size of the file plays a part in what I tend to download (demo wise).
And, since we only find out what the size is after selecting download, it tends to clog up the “Download List” in the PSN store. Even though I don’t end up downloading half the things I select.
Thank you.

I’ve been asked this before, at the moment it’s not easy for me to collate that information, but I’m hoping I can find some way to do it soon (no promises though).

I actually can’t believe how good those permanent price reductions for PSP games are. Dead Head Fred, Practical IQ and Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords are must buys, and all for under a tenner! I’ve been wanting to get Dead Head Fred ever since I read it won an award from the Writer’s Guild of America for best writing in a video game.
Thanks Mike, I’m literally gobsmacked by this update – GT *and* MGS:PW? *swoon* Braid *and* Blue Toad Murder Files? I know what I’ll be buying with the PSN vouchers I’m getting for Christmas, heh.
Oh yeah, Happy Christmas PS Blog peoples

Long time reader first time responder.
Excellent work with the update this week looking forward to them downloading lots of things tonight. Gutted I bought Bomberman before the price reduction!
Just a couple of things:
Would it be possible to include singstar song updates in the store update too? It can be quite difficult to track down the updates for singstar at times. I know they are sometimes reported in the blog but not always.
Is there any news on any DLC for Smackdown vs Raw 2010?
Thanks for all your time doing the blog and Merry Christmas!

Wow. This could be the best update ever.
I wish the Big Surf Bundle would get a price reduction without being bundled with the full game at some point. I already bought it once for my, ahem, other console, but as I grabbed Paradise for PS3 as well for convenience’s sake (love having retail games on the HDD – MOAR plz!), I’d love to have the bundle on here as well. Bit expensive to get at the usual price point, though.
Merry Christmas everyone!

Ok! Nice price reductions for both PSP and PS3!! Awesome Peace walker, but really poor new games for PSP. A week before christmas and nothing new! Well, I hope that on 22 dec update the things will change to better. I am a faithful PSPgo owner. By the way, thank you for the digital comics, there arte some really good (SLAINE!!!).
Regards the codes, I never win to the lottery but I feel that next week my luck is changing.
Cheers.

Dear Mike,
I don’t know if it’s me, or if it’s my PS3′s time of the month but I’ll raise the issue anyway!
I can no longer view video or add comments to the PS Blog via my PS3.
On topic, very nice update with Braid being seemmingly cheap! Also, do I need to own a PSP Go to buy/play a mini game!
P.S As I write this I can confirm it is Snowing in Bolton! Yippee, but, I’ve got a test tommorrow, neigh!

Would it be possible to tell us why The EU has to wait for the Socom DLC? Coding issues such as translating Snow into UK rain or is it just that we don’t matter to SCEA? I think it’s only fair to have some sort of reason or explanation to perhaps calm down what is likely to be a rather annoyed EU Offical Playstation Socom HQ community.

Hey Mike, I wanted to buy ‘Buzz Dino Den’ last week, but it never reached Finnish store even though u mentioned on the blog that its for ‘all locales’. Other item i want to buy, ‘.detuned’, has gone AWOL from our store. So if these are oversights, hopefully this constructive feedback will fill our store shelves, make some ready cash for sony, and bring me my code

Impressive update, even for x-mas! =^__^=
The Permanent Price Reductions is a nice addition I am certain many will enjoy. ;D
Well, with the Tuesday update coming up I’m glad school is finally over for this year because I wouldn’t get much done with all the gaming ahead. XD
Cheers! ;3

Really cool to see the price drop on Battlefield, I bought it on release date and really think it was worth every penny but now being cheap as chips I’m hoping it will give it a second wave, some people who weren’t sure will take the plunge and the servers will be buzzing.

mike for the special offers you should have ones like final fantasy 7 for xmas so more ppl will have a chance to before 8 in january. and mike is their a more specific time frame for ff8.
and your post is a bit contradictory,
Good morning – the store will be updated nice and early today, so I’m still a little bleary eyed
seing as its in the past, shouldnt it be was updated, not will be
and its not a heads up if the store was updated before the blog.
not being picky but constructive

I wrote the blog update yesterday afternoon, it was meant to go before the store update, but we got the store up earlier than expected, so the blog update came later

Great update Mike. My wallet will take a battering when I get home.
A while ago you mentioned you were working on another preview of what’s soon to be released like the one you did in the summer. Any progress on that front?
Thanks for all your hard work this year Mike (you certainly don’t have the easiest job in the world) – hopefully 2010 will be as good as 2009.

Wow! this is a fantastic update! I’ve just ordered a network card online, so I’m ready to go on a major spending spree when it arrives! My PS3 is in some need of new PSN games as i haven’t purchased any in a while! I’m loving the special offers this week, there are loads of them! I’m also getting a PSP Go for christmas so its especially nice to see lots of PSP game price cuts, specifically the Burnout games and Crash team racing! I’m also excited for the SingStar Viewer, I’ll be downloading that right away. Braid and Blue Toad Murder files are also great according to reviews, so deciding what to buy is going to be very difficult!
Anyway, Thanks alot for the update, I’m very excited for Christmas now!

Hi Mike,
A question about:
Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords (PSP) (was – £15.99/€19.99 now – £4.79/€5.99)
The Cube (PSP) (was – £15.99/€19.99 now – £2.39/€2.99)
Dead Head Fred (PSP) (was – £14.99/€19.99 now – £2.39/€2.99)
Does this mean puzzle quest (and the other 2) are up in all of europe?
Haven’t seen them before in the dutch psn.
greetings Sebas

The store availability is still the same I’m afraid, so you aren’t able to get them

Wow. This is a really nice store update. Thanks!
Loved the Puzzle Quest price reductions. I still feel cheated because Puzzle Quest is for some strange reason not available for the PSP on the PSN store in Norway.
It’s nice to play it on the PS3, but it would be a perfect game for my PSP GO

Nice update Mike! You are treating us for Christmas! Question-will we be getting Tetris and Frogger Returns anytime soon for PS3?
Thanks

Little thing though, it says that the AC2 Lineage video 3 is up, and only 1 and 2 are, just thaught I would point that out =]
Plus is it possible to make video purchases show up on your facebook page like everything else does? I like to show of my movies to friends thats all

Apologies for double-posting.
Very nice update, both on the Store and on Home. Kudos!
Just two things I’d appreciate some feedback on:
1 – Braid. The version that came out on the US store had a glitch on the “Full Speed Run” trophy. No matter how well you did on it, it wouldn’t unlock. The game’s creator, Jonathan Blow, posted that Hothead were aware of the issue and had already submitted a patch to Sony so it was out of their hands. This was November 20th. There’s still only v1.00 to download on the US store and no update prompt comes up when you launch it. Can you find out if the one that’s coming out on the EU store has this fix or if/when it’ll become available? It’s hard enough doing the thing, not getting that one last trophy really sucks..
2 – For the past couple of weeks, I can’t seem to access this site with Firefox (v3.5.6). I have no issues with the US blog or any other official playstation sites, just this one — I get a “400 – Bad request” error (with nginx on the bottom) every time. It’s not the add-ons, as I have very few and tried disabling every one of them to no avail. Has this become an IE-only site?
Thank you for your time and any info you can provide.

Nice update. Pity about the SOCOM DLC though, was looking forward to it. At least I’ve got the Beatles Rockband DLC to tide me over.
Nice to see the store update now, got the afternoon to try the Army of Two demo also.

Great update this week – more games to spend my money on, I know that Blue Toad will be perfect for the crimbo period.
Nice one.
Cheers

Wow the £50 PSN card I’m getting for Christmas is going to go fast :O. Green Day Pack 02, Rubber Soul, Burn Zombie Burn and Bomberman Ultra will all be getting purchased. Then there’s the Nirvana track pack, Slipknot track pack and Borderlands DLC that I haven’t been able to buy due to YLOD.
This is the first update I’ve ever felt compelled to write my thoughts about because it’s just so damn good. Best we’ve had in a long time well done Mike. Bet you’re looking forward to your Christmas break after next week eh? LBP DLC next week right?

Mike,
When’s ‘Supersonic Monsters Mike’s Crimbo Turkey Gravity Shooter’ coming out? We’ve been waiting for it for ages!
Great update by the way. Have a good Christmas.

Why isn’t Route 66 available in Spain? I think PSP is lacking in graphic adventure/hidden object games and the minis are perfect for it.
I’m glad for the price reductions for Dead Head Fred and the other games, I’m getting a PSP Go this christmas, so from now on, I’ll buy a lot in the Playstation Store.

May finally pick up Burn Zombie Burn at that price
Would’ve been good if SCEE had made a free Christmas dynamic theme. (coupled with more/ new avatars)

Great update with some really good games in the special offers. Burnout, Bomberman and Battlefield are now absolute bargains and being able to play Minis on PS3 is nice addition. Notice a Hustle Kings video listed but still no release date? Tuesday perhaps but haven`t seen it listed on ESRB or PEGI websites. Also PEGI website mentions Pool by SCEE in PSN category. Any ideas when this will see light of day? Will we be seeing Ridge Racer and R-Type Delta in PSone classics tuesday as they`re listed too.
Keep up the good work, Mike

Nice update. Thank you for finally giving us some savings to match some of the good offers the US PSN has been getting.
Please can you tell me if there are any plans for Destruction Derby 2 to be made available?
Also, keep the minis coming, they’re brilliant. But I wondered if we’ll ever see any ‘apps’, like a certain other store, which are not games?
