[Update 2] Our issues have now been resolved and Blue Toad Episode 2 (and the Episode 1 + 2 Bundle) are now back on the store! We apologise again for the inconvenience.
[Update] Apologies for the inconvenience some of you have had with Blue Toad Murder Files Episode 2 (and the Bundle of Episodes 1 and 2), we are working on our error now, and will have the correct files up on the store for download again very soon.
Those of you who have already downloaded this content should delete the original content from your console, and then download the content again from your download list later today. As of writing this, the problem is still being rectified, but it should be resolved very soon.
Many thanks for your patience, and apologies again for the inconvenience.

Good morning – the store will be updated nice and early today, so I’m still a little bleary eyed
Our batch of special offers for the festive period begins today, but we’ll also be adding a few more titles next week too. From today though, you’ll be able to grab games such as Burn Zombie Burn!, Bomberman Ultra and Battlefield 1943 at lower prices.
Also following the firmware update last week, minis now join the fun on PS3, so you can now enjoy the majority of our minis on both formats.
Next week we’re updating the store on Tuesday the 22nd of December, and then that’s it for the holidays – normal service will resume from Thursday the 7th of January.
Finally, as a personal Christmas gift to some of you lucky, lucky readers, I have some codes I’ll be giving out over the next week – there is no competition to enter – all I’ll be doing is scouring your comments and giving codes out to those who have left constructive/commendable feedback (think of this as a ‘letter of the week’ type deal, except it’s more ‘comments of the week’). These codes will be sent from my store management PSN account and will give you your code directly, so it’ll be safe and secure.
Hopefully all the above will give you additional festive cheer, and I’ll see you in the comments as usual.
Laters!

And one other thing… I own both a PS3 as well as a PSP and if i’m not mistaken, its possible to use the remote play functionality to access the PS3 via the PSP and watch Vid’s or listen to music which you have on your PS3. The thing is that i have a bunch of Vids on my PC in DIVX/H.264(MKV) format i would like to watch on my TV and sometimes on my PSP as well. However, when i copy the files to my PS3, the PS3 keeps telling me that the format is not supported.
In order to watch them via my PC on my TV, i’ve installed a MediaServer on my PC which allows content to be streamed to the PS3. That way i can still still watch those vids on my TV.
Now, theoretically, i could turn on my PC, Start the Media Server, Access the PS3 via the Remote Play from my PSP in order to watch/stream the vids located on my PC. But that would be kind of a hassle just to watch a vid. (^_^ )
Does Sony still intend to expand the DIVX(/H.264) support via Firmware updates so that i can copy the vids directly on my PS3 HDD? Or would i have to use the situation as mentioned above to view these vids on my PS3/PSP?

Great update Mike. Love waking up to a store update, feels like xmas morning a week early!
Have been really impressed with the deals of late, SARPBC, Last Guy, Killzone Liberation all in the past few weeks have been near irresistable.
I’m really pleased to see regular deals offered to put perhaps ‘older’ content that might have fallen off the radar in the lime light again. Its a great ‘tool’, and i’m glad to see you’ve started offering DLC at reduced prices too (Burnout’s DLC soon perhaps plz?
Oh, and I love those PSOne classic borders you guys added last week, they are a really nice touch in the classic section. Classy.
One request I want to make again for next year is a demos section. It’s still incredibly difficult wading through the Games section which is full of Games/Demos/and sometimes even the odd dlc. Browsing around for a new demo is still a chore and having to sort through games at the same time is just not user friendly.
So, Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year Mike and the team, and everyone at the blog. Looking forward to 2010 with PlayStation!

I think the PSone classics look a lot better with the new branding too

@pidi48 Bearing in mind the issues Socom PS3 had on its initial release in North America, I would think that any slight delay would be welcome if it ensures it all runs smoothly once it is up for all the play.
Besides its the holidays, tis not the time for online gaming, its the time for local multiplayer, the seasons of reining supreme over your inferior gaming relatives, before your years of skill refinement is all for nothing as they stuff you on their new Wii Sports game.

Hi Mike great update and happy Christmas.
Can you tell me if the Mini’s that are not currently compatible with PS3 (Tetris in particular) will ever be compatible.
Been looking for a way to get my partner to love the PS3 as much and me that game might just be the way to do it!
Thanks

Well i’m not very happy really with todays update!
Not only did we get it early i just haven’t enough time on my hands to enjoy all the new awesome stuff.
The GT Academy is gruelingly hard as well as being a lot of fun
We have Braid, Blue Toad Murder Files to get through which both look a hell lot of fun!..
On top of that the excellent Home update with the amazing Audi space and the very fast Vertical Run game. And god knows what i’m doing in the Sodium space lol but it sure is time consuming & fun!
Not forgetting all my games i want to complete before my new stock arrive on the 25th
I’m to exhausted from helping Santa and his little Elf out as well so i’m on lock-down at home! I have just made my dinner and have last nights pizza and i have locked my doors and turned my phone off.
Goodbye the rest of the world!

I must say it makes a nice change for everything I want to download to be a nice manageable size of around 200-300mb, and on this occasion there’s a fair amount I’m downloading.
Those massive demos that are often put up that weigh in at over a GB take an entire evening to download on my connection, which often tries my patience, especially when the demo is then over and done with in about 20 minutes of play.
We could do with a few more compact demos whilst national broadband speeds are quite low, although I do appreciate that it just isn’t possible in a lot of cases.

Right all, I’m off for the rest of the day, I’ll be back on tomorrow morning for a little bit to read all the comments I’ve missed and give out more codes, then I’ll back for more fun next Tuesday with some more.
See you all later, and merry christmas to all those who may not visit the blog again for a while.
Cheers,

Ouch. Although this is an incredible update, the only thing I was looking forward to is Braid, and apparently Belgium’s one of the only places where we’re not getting it O_o. Way to bust my hopes.

Arguably one of the best content updates of the year and still people find reason to complain about PSOne classics or odd bits of content. Honestly, can’t you just enjoy what is here and enjoy what is coming when it comes? It wouldn’t surprise me if half these people were complaining last week that Braid wasn’t available, now instead of playing Braid they just complain about the next thing!
Thanks for the update this week Mike (& co), it’s one of the biggest I’ve seen this year and there are loads of things I’ll be downloading and I’m loving that there are now some permanent price reductions for older content (which is how it should be!). The selection of XMas discounts is also eye-wateringly good and I’m off to buy an extra PSN Voucher to celebrate!!!
As for the freebie, I would like to think I’m always polite and constructive in this comments section, and am much more appreciative of the work you guys do than some of the people that visit here, who frankly on occasion come across as spoilt brats…
P.S. A comment of the week prize is an excellent idea for the blog!
Posted on 17 December, 2009 at 2:06 pm by Mike Kebby
You have been very constructive every week here Apnomis, and you are not subjective either; you always tell us your opinion, good or bad, but always politely, which is the best way to get your point across I think.
Code is on it’s way

Anyways, love Sony… Going to get a PocketStation, if you remember what that is, for Christmas:D 2 actually, since the first one took ages to get from Japan to Belgium…

I think 2009 has been a good year for sony, with some good games
Borderlands
Tekken
AC2
Uncharted 2
Just to mention a few, but was sorry to see some exclusives opening up to other platforms, tekken, and final fantasy among others. I realise companys have to do it to increase profits, but i think sony can pull a lead with some good exclusives coming next year, Heavy Rain, and GT5, Final Fantasy Versus 13 when it appears. I’ve always been with playstation, since my first console was a ps1, and continue to be astounded by the leaps sony make to not just the computer games industry but to technology in general. I continue to be impressed by sony, with being able to expand the ps3 via firmware updates – though to be honest i have be dissapointed with a few of them, but majority of them have been top notch. The psn network, with free online play, and numerous downloads. I enjoy hours of playtime, and think sony can be 1 again.

A banner year for PlayStation and for the PSN in general. I think it’s moved BEYOND leaps and bounds this year, in terms of content, despite everyone’s woes and all year long Mike has had the patience of a saint, so kudos to him for that are for also answering every comment he could. I think he’s done a fantastic job of keeping us apprised with all major developments and he’s a testament to the company and on that note can I wish all the PSN community team a very Merry Xmas and a prosperous 2010.

Ah Ha! A chink in your armour, I have you now!
”
“I’ll be looking for the best comments (don’t have to be nice either)
Right, listen up you sniveling little Muppet! I’m about to impart reasoning as to why I should be granted a code. Not only did you skim over my a$$ kissing comment about the size of your sack (erm Santa related :0) but I have never received any direct reply to any of my comments from you on this blog. Why? Are my questions too cunning and cryptic for your puny mind to fathom? Or are you just too chummy with the other insignificant microbes that fester around here? Seriously it reeks of favoritism Mr Kebby, you’re always like “Hi Pal, have a code” and like “Hi , yeah great comment thanks for boosting my ego a little more, I’m loving how Sony pay me to play blog/games all day”. Lastly, you must make more effort with the community, try harder, reply more, give more stuff away free and generally please me!
As that was nasty feedback I shall expect my code shortly!
(groveling disclaimer)
Honestly, you do a good job and the above was just a little humour to fly in the face of the general pat on the back stuff for the last 8 pages.
Luv Ya!

Hello, Mister Kebby
The store update was instead-y
of next week super-B
Keep up your good work, for us
notfor your extra holiday-fee!!
Merry christmas and a happy new year
I think Kebby did a wonderful job by keeping us informed. Even though there were very mad men running around to try to hurt you by saying that you don’t work enough or you don’t do you best.
Well I and you know you love this job and try to do your work as best as you can.
And now the constructive part; Hope SCEE keep you very close to them, Because you make up for all the content the US has more then us. ^^
No joke the real contructive part is, can’t you try to tell why some things are not coming to all locales. Like braid… isn’t coming to belgium. Most people get mad because they don’t know why. And Army of two isn’t coming to germany and others…but then, we know why… the violence. But especcially when such huge games like Braid are coming, maybe some feedback could spare us alot of angre.
P.S the update before this week was also good.
P.S WE ALL LOVE OUR KEBBY (did that sound hysterical?)

Ah, Mike! I was getting worried you wouldn’t show up today!
The store beat you this time, I think I’ve never seen it update this soon, which is good because I got myself some Fieldrunners on PS3 Action!
Speaking of which, the software emulation seems to work fine with minor hiccups at times (loading), 100% playable and a great “double value for same price”
Now if we could only get that for all the PSP games
)!
Also, it’s perfect that you can transfer your save games from the psp to the PS3 and vice versa, to continue your gaming adventures on the go (pun intended
Other than that, I think you didn’t get the chance to read last time (I was late) but thank you so much for the Search feature in the Portuguese Store… Was in testing a while but now it pays off.
See you next week, I presume?
PS: FF8 in January
FF9 in February?

Is there any way the permanent price drops could be highlighted more clearly in the store? These are excellent value, but in order to see them you need to know that they’re there and then seek out the specific titles. Maybe they should have a category in a similar way to the special offers, so that everyone can know they have the option of taking advantage of them…

“The Dutch and Belgian Stores will have a full search facility like the rest of the stores mid-January, sorry for the delay.”
Whoohoo~! That’s great news (^_^ )-b Thanks for the update on that Mike.
Do you perhaps also have a comment on the “DIVX/H.264″-support question i’ve asked at 298? (^_^ )
(… I’m also getting more and more curious about this code you’ve been giving out… Hahaha.)
Anyways, i wish you and SCEE a Merry Christmas and a fabulous New Year in advance (just in case i won’t be able to view the blog for a while (^_^ ) ). May 2010 be an even better year!
(You bet with games like Final Fantasy XIII on the horizon)

Well one more update left till this year is wrapped up. I thank you all the Store staff especially you Mike! You’ve done a great job putting up with the harsh comments but you seem to pick light out of them. What a good year for the PS Store too – first the blog then the Video store too. The only way is up right? =D
Keep up the good work the store team and you too Mike. Don’t think I can get on here next week as I will be down at the families but I will try. Like I said keep up the good work and see you in 2010 bring and early on the 7th ay Mike like today? =P
P.S Just waiting on LittleBigPlanet Pirates of the Caribbean pack to lighten up my xmas now. Can’t wait but will have to wait till the Wednesday to buy it – Bar humbug! Oh Mike is there any chance we will see Hustle Kings this side of Xmas?
Thanks Bankzy108

I am really pleased with this week’s update, it’s fantastic. I think that sometimes SCEE takes a lot of slack for their actions. Granted, they aren’t always perfect, but with Store Updates like this it shows how good they actually are.
I believe that Sony will go from strength to strength in 2010 – with a line of some epic looking games and (hopefully) consistent strong store updates.
Congrats SCEE, love ya!

Nice update this week- loving all the reduced prices and new items also.
Especially loving this idea of the singstar widget on the xmb. Hopefully will let me get a few more bad rating on my videos lol.
Was wondering if you were thinkign of implementig this kind of idea for more games. They’d obviously have different funcionality but maybe a lbp one (it might show when you friend have made a new level) this would also work for modnation racers when it arrives perhaps.
Also what about having a widget that shows all your friends recent activity similar to above but accorss all games so if they made a level or got a trophy, etc.

Would be nice to have a new Christmas themed game to play, seems a long time since games like Christmas NiGHTs and Christmas Toy Home came out.
Still, loads of good stuff to play thanks to PSN today and the comic store yesterday.

GT prologue, I got all excited thinking I could pick it up cheap and it’s the same price as play.com…
Might as well get it boxed from there, any chance of more incentive to buy DL content in the future by sizeable reductions in price compared to instore/online prices?

The special offer prices merely reflect what this stuff should have cost originally. EU bloated prices for the win.

Hello Mike,
is this morning content update (on the actual Store, not the blog) a one-time exception or did you actually changed the scheduling.
Also, any chance we can have the Text Search option available in the Downloaded Content section as well? Or at least let us re-download content from the Store.
Take care and wish you Merry Christmas!

I’m hoping we can start moving forwards to earlier publishes…that’s the wish at least
