Thanks to all for your feedback last week, there was some great work there indeed. Lots of you echoed sentiments that I personally share and it’ll be interesting to see where this year takes us.
Last week’s special offers continue for one more week (with a new batch coming on the 21st) so don’t forget to check those out if you haven’t already. We’ve gone a bit demo friendly this week with Vancouver 2010 and Inferno Pool for PS3, and Football Manager Handheld 2010 and Army of Two: The 40th Day for PSP available. This leads me nicely onto the fact that we’ll also have the full game of 40th Day available this Friday too.
Throw into the mix one full game, another PSP game, one mini, one PSone game and a bunch of downloadable content, and that makes this week’s publish. Oh, and a personal highlight, a trailer for Yakuza 3, it’s coming!!
That’s your lot this week; I’ll catch you in the comments section. Cheers.

No much for me this week mike, great news that we are getting 3D dot heroes, I thought we never get it over here as it’s made by from software who make demon souls, seany if you don’t like it, just leave and get rid of your machine, you seem to complain every week about how poor the store updates they are, games releases are always poor at the beginning of the year

Hmm, I might pick up Constructor, as it was one of my favourite games back in the day. I didn’t know that it released for PS. I’m a little worried about how it controls on a console though, so can anyone say something of that?
@Mike: Any idea if Final Fantasy: Tactics will be released on the store?
Also, as a follow up to last week, one feature I’d like to see on the store is a wish list, so that I can have a handy list of items I want and intend to buy, but for some reason can’t or won’t buy just yet. If implemented, it’d be nifty if you’d automatically got an e-mail if one of the items on your list was used as a special offer, or had a permanent price reduction.

How hard can it be Mike (no disrespect) to start dishing out the PREMIUM AVATARS! It’s bad enough we waited MONTHS after they were announced, but to add insult to injury, all we get when they did come along was a handful of LBP ones? I refuse to believe that it is that hard to design and a release them on a regular basis. I can only assume that they are not that high on SONY’S priority list? Any idea when there will be more available…….December 2010?

@ Mike – Re : Rock Band 2 / Impossible Question!
You may have possible moved on from this post onto regular work, but this is the first chance I’ve had to check back here. Thank you for checking up on Rock Band 2 for me. I felt as though tagging it as “impossible” would be enough to definitely get your attention! :p
I can 100% guarantee that the item wasn’t there last week, so I hope you don’t think I was wasting your time!
Whilst I can appreciate that the work here on the Blog is but a fraction of your regular duties, might I suggest a cross check of sorts implimented if it’s workable. I’m sure there may have been a bunch of stealth updates in the past also. eg: If a PSone game were to be added to the store, but a couple of regions missed out. If they were to get the game a couple of weeks later to “catch up”.
The Store peeps that actually upload the content, if they send back a list of what was updated. Anything extra that is updated, could be placed as a footnote in the post.
Anyway, enough rambling, once again thank you for the answer yesterday, but let’s face it, you were lucky that it was uploaded this week. Had I asked this question a few weeks ago, it would have been IM-POSS-I-BLE!!! :p

This update sucks… We may not expect stellar offerings in brick and mortar stores every week but with digital downloads for PSP and PS3 you have such an extensive back catalogue that is not being used.
For example:
PSP
- Dissidia FF (Seriously, this has entered joke town)
- Megaman: Powered Up (Pull your finger out Capcom)
- Tekken: Dark Resurrection (No Namco, I will not pay $60 for Tekken 6)
- 100s of other older quality PSP titles
PS3
-100s of PSone classics
SCEE sucks. Give seany1 a break, he’s onto something. Mike if SCEE don’t want his business or feedback then he should grab Serious Sam HD.

Posted on 15 January, 2010 at 2:06 pm by Mozz-eyes
Thanks for the update Mike.
But what I want to know is when the REAL PSone classics are hitting. I’m talking about:
-Resident Evil 1-3
-Dino Crisis
-Spyro 1-3
-Syphon Filter 2
-Crash Bandicoot 2
-Chrono Cross
I know there must be a lot of red tape to cut through but SCEE would get a LOT of revenue from those. Plus the US store has almost all of them, it is also organised a better, and has the size (in MB) of the game in the title which is extremely useful.

Hi, Just a quick question regarding online content for Little Big Planet. Downloaded God of War add on pack for LBP, but unfortunately am missing the one costume we really wanted which was Kratos. Have downloaded it repeatedly since but still don’t receive this costume. Have just checked the store again, but now it is only available to preview, not to buy. Can someone tell me if there is a problem with this download, as Kratos is definitely supposed to come with this GOW Pack. Thankyou.

Hey mike any idea if Infinity Ward making map packs for MW2 ? and would think Little big planet have a music pack with new tracks . I think She Wolf by shakira made into a instrumental would be great becaue it reminds me of playing little big planet and Ananda Shankars Streets of Calcutta would be perfect, the chorus of that song has a Little big planet vibe to it. it would be great to have an enjoyable music pack on the ps store !

Is Sony by any chance working together with Nordisk Film that is part of Egmont? At Nordisk Film they have interpreted the wish to be the most attractive supplier of entertainment in movies, television, games, and music.
I would gladly see that we get some of the same features that they are having on for example the US and UK PSN! The possibility to buy movies and series.

Hi Mike, sorry for the cross-posting but I just thought I would give you a heads up on the pricing for Fireteam Bravo 3, it is £16.99 from thegamecollection on pre-order. Please use this as a guide for your pricing on PSN. I reckon it should be, what, at least 10% less than this? WDYT? I will make a deal with you, if you can get it on store for £16 I will get it on day 1, how does that sound?

It’s very annoying that there seems to be some who experience problem’s after a mandatory update.
They can´t play disc based games and bluray movies neither…
Sony.. Please confirm if it could be the 3.15 update doing this or is it safe to update.

i was looking at the us playstation store specifically the psone classics section and noticed the huge differences between our uk one and theirs.
They have
Resident Evil 1-3 (so want 3)
Tomb Raider 1-5
Crash Bandicoot 2
Silent Hill
Syphon Filter 2
Dino Crisis
really thou i can’t understand why we haven’t got syphon filter 2 when we have 1 and 3 and want to know when resident evil 3 is coming out over here in the uk. Also is there a chance that toy story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the rescue is likely to come out?
PSONE Classics i have already purchased are
Metal Gear Solid
Final Fantasy 7
Medievil
Rayman
Crash Bandicoot 1
Tarzan
Monsters Inc. Scsre Island
Syphon Filter 1
Syphon Filter 3
I would really also like to see C-12 Final Resistance and can’t wait for Final Fantasy 8

OK, I am getting sick and tired of waiting for Europe to get these frigin Playstation Network Cards in out local game stores.
I just went to buy something on the store and now it bloody says my cards not valid when theres nothing dam wrong with it.
If Microsoft and Nintendo can get the cards out to us, why the hell can’t SONY, this is really starting to PISS me off.
I’ve heard for ages now that there coming, there coming, there coming. WHERE THE BLOODY HELL ARE THEY.

We have to congratulate Mike. He’s like a blind man in the middle of the ocean, defending, whatever it costs the Sony flag – we may understand you like your job Mike
. “Make Believe” which is a nice conver song of the Pixies is also the Sony slogan (see up ?): they make you believe the European Store is full of cool thing whereas we have to beg for a game that has been released more than 10 years ago to be available on the Store (FF 8 of course) and the only f***ing worthy thing on the whole market by the way.
They just don’t give a damn of Europe, too many languages and moreover a casual gaming population (except for UK naturally). So RPGs, if you’re waiting after the guys who wait for the US thing s to come over, i’m sorry for you but it makes me laugh anyway.
Let me clarify myself. This is not an attack against Mike which is a good editor/moderator who makes what he can to give proper info and other things.

The aim of this post is to remind you that the race on this console generation is almost over, and this my conclusion:
Sony who used to be Master of Gaming with the PS1 and 2 is overtaken by Nintendo and Microsoft everywhere (sorry in Japan you’re JUST (!!!) second). And guess what ? Because they give us the game we want.
Show us you can be reactive, give us Abe 1 and 2, Parasite Eve, etc or just be frank or tell us Sony doesn’t give a damn with EURO store, don’t waste our time.
Call me Crosoft fanboy or whatever i don’t care, my only country, my only flag —–> the good games whatever support/system (i got every single system except Wii)
A former Sony afficionado

Not only does it take forever for us to get decent games, Sony makes it more difficult for us to buy them. I am sick of asking for my Dads Credit card and this recent issue with the Cards not being valid. I heard that every time i try to get it to work it’s costing my Dad fees. The Playstation 3 is a good console but only in other parts of the world.
I agree with Sony not giving a crap about us.
How hard could it possibly be to release the PSN cards in Australian game stores. We should have had these ages ago.
Nintendo Wii points (Available)
Microsoft Xbox Live Points (Available)
Sony Playstation Network Cards ( NO WHERE IN SIGHT).

Hi Mike…
This is my first post here. I was snooping around the Namco site and read that the following ‘PS One™ catalog classics and current PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system content will further enhance its already robust library of games on the PlayStation®Network’…Does this mean that we will get Tekken 1,2&3 (3 is a must if it’s true).
Also PSN UK needs to catch up with PSN US & Japan sites with the likes of…
Resident Evil 1,2&3
Bloody Roar
Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver
Final Fantasy VIII
Medal of Honor
Medal of Honor: Underground
Oddworld: Abe’s Exoddus
Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee
R-Type Delta
R-Types
Silent Hill
Syphon Filter 2
Ehrgeiz
Dead or Alive
I hope the majority of these titles make it to PSN UK as we desperately need some Classic PSOne action to make out wallets sing.
Yours Hopefully Demiquad.

What’s all the FUSS?
I see lots of people requesting old playstation 1 games. No offense y’all but why? I have played most of them, and they where good the time they was released first time.
Unless they make the games in minimum 720p and fresh them up to the standards graphics we have now I don’t see any point in filling the PSN store with all kind off old news. Please Sony use more money on making new interesting exclusive games for the ps3 and in game voice chat etc.
One other thing Sony and other producers of gaming console have to remember is that if they make them even more complex with even more fancy features the people using them store even more personal pictures, music and etc. and specially all save games a very sensitive for most of use, so the possibility of not being able to make a proper backup of the complete system is a huge hick up. At the moment there are to many no can do! Give us the freedom to ftp from pc to the ps3.
Kind Regards Martin
