Hello everyone.
I would like to announce that the PSPgo Promotion which allows you to download a free game when you buy a PSPgo has been extended until 31st January. So there is still time to take advantage of this offer. Details on the promotion and how to redeem are below.
Thanks!
Adam
I am very happy to announce a new promotion for PSPgo! If you buy a PSPgo you can get either the ultra-realistic driving simulator Gran Turismo, brutal off-road racer MotorStorm Arctic Edge or awesome action-adventure Assassin’s Creed: Bloodlines to download completely free! In Germany the 3 games that are on offer are Gran Turismo, MotorStorm Arctic Edge and LittleBigPlanet.
All you have to do is set up or sign into your PlayStationNetwork account, then visit PlayStationStore to download a special PSPgo Promotion Theme.
This will trigger an email from PlayStationStore containing an e-voucher. Enter the code onto the PlayStationStore via your PSPgo and select which game you would like to download. The voucher will be with you within a week, but you should get it much quicker than that.
In addition to those of you looking to pick up a PSPgo, this offer is also available to all existing PSPgo owners. So if you have bought your PSPgo before today you will be able to go onto the store right now, download the PSPgo Promotion Theme and we will send you a voucher to download one of the great games on offer!
For the full details and a step by step guide please click here or visit eu.playstation.com/pspgopromotion.
Happy Holidays!
Adam

Now that I remember it I, too, downloaded the promo from media go so that’s why I didn’t receive the code.

Same here, no reply, I downloaded the theme onto my psp 2000. Why on earth they let you do this when its meant to be a pspgo only promo is baffling, only then to be told that you are no longer entitled to the free game beacuse you have violated the t&c!? Come on Sony, treat us genuine customers with the respect we deserve! We are the ones paying your wages after all!!

Phone support but they sticking by the tough luck line we’re being given.
Guess we’re gonna have to take it from Sony this time. Next time we’ll know not to invest our cash in their hardware

Just called playstation support, new number is 08447360595.
they have just said to me i’ve done everything right, but carn’t confirm if i’ll get the codes or not, the promotion and the reward code for upgrading. I’m left not knowing, which isn’t really acceptable…. I have to wait my ’30 day’s’.. I registed mine on the 2/1/2010.
How do people know if they have done it right ?
Imagine the disappointment on some kids face as he waits 3 weeks for Gran Turismo… which he thought he’d be playing at christmas…
I will say though, love the kit, its well designed…
Now what do i do with the 100 + UMD’s !

Well somebody is reading this as my last comment was deleted. All I said was it makes me feel like going back to Xbox Live.
Is it against the rules to mention any competition on this blog? At least when they give something to their customers they don’t make you jump through hoops to get them.

What smarts more than anything else about this is the ignorance, loyal customers are just left hanging with no response. You would have thought someone from Sony would have been reading these comments and at least reply so we know they are listening!

@ BeAkErOo, I expect that one may be deleted soon too!

@ Losingthewill, Maybe it will, freedom of speech and other basic rights don’t seem to be acknowledged here.

I doubt anyone will reply to this topic now. Sony are sticking to their guns on this one. Therefore, if, when the 30 days are up I will be contacting Trading Standards, BBC Watchdog, and probably call up a few contacts to see if there cant be some further coverage of this topic, then, maybe we’ll get a reply.
But lets be clear, Im not about to ditch my PSP Go, and I’m still happily purchasing from PSN (although the £30 for GTA:CW stung a bit when its only £9 on iPhone!!!) Its just this whole fiasco with the promo codes is leaving a sour taste in my mouth.
As I said, the lesson for us all is if it isn’t in the box don’t use it as a reason for purchasing! Thats what is annoying me, I justified the cost of the Go (and to the wife) as I would get 4 free games! If they don’t show up then I’ll direct my wife to you Mr(s) Sony… and may the lord have mercy then!!! lol

And so the post moves to page 2 and the legions of annoyed PSP owners remain forgotten.
20 days left sony…I will be waiting

@ dazcox did you just post on Eurogamer.net too? I saw your name on the psp forums there too! Thats if its you of course…. And still no response from anyone on this, not even a ‘Sorry guys, we are looking into it…’ Meh!

Posted on 19 January, 2010 at 1:47 pm by dazcox
Yep thats me on Eurogamer.
Just trying to make sure people are aware of an issue – I feel especially sorry for any parents having to explain to their little ones why they can’t have their games yet…
Having said that, isn’t target demographic for the PSP Go affluent 20+ professionals with money to burn… Perhaps Sony aren’t bothered to give us the free game as we can of course all easily afford to buy them all anyway! (joke)

I’m wondering whether to just buy Gran turismo and be done with it. If I get my code I’ll get motorstorm.
As for the rewards games they’ll probably end up on special offer at some point, so i can always just wait for that…
The games I want aren’t in either offer, so have bought a few already…debating Disgaea ATM as want a good rpg…

Posted on 20 January, 2010 at 9:31 am by Losingthewill
Go for Disgaea, you wont regret it mate, hundreds of potential hours of gameplay, its also one of the funniest games I have ever played. I was so glad when they ported it to psp as its the perfect game for playing on the move. I also really want Gran Turismo but as a matter of principle I’m not giving Sony my money for it when I should potentially get it for free…. Are you listening Sony??

Just called support line and they reckon I’ve done the promotion right, but they didn’t even know the promo was extended…and that the error message is fine, just download it from the themes section…yeah right
They also didn’t ask for my PSN id or anything so don’t know how’d they’d be able to tell!
@Losingthewill – Agreed about GT – It’s the principle of it now! I’d be happy to get a code just for GT as a goodwill gesture after the mucking about with rewards promos etc. And Disgaea will be purchased later today
SHAME THAT NO ONE AT SONY READS THESE POSTS!!! Why does every other blogger on here manage to read and reply to their customers but the PSP Europe manager can’t be bothered!!! Adam if you’re too busy yourself DELEGATE!!! Surely a basic management principle!

Well, my go has developed always on pixels, if I return this under warranty and its replaced hows that going to affect my redemption codes (if and when they turn up)? It will obviously be a different system on the same account, when activated though will the codes still work??
72
Posted on 21 January, 2010 at 10:00 am by dazcox
You won’t have any hope with that one I think…However if you redeem them on the new system *maybe* the sonys DRM gods will be nice and lock it to the new console. Probably not.
Why oh why did you recommend Disgaea – Was up till 3am playing it! It’s awesome!
On another note, I called back to the support line yesterday (twice actually – first ‘advisor’ was pretty poor really, gave me my ‘rewards’ code which turned out to be for the rewards theme – DOH! so redialled and spoke to John, Who is great, very helpful said my rewards code would be coming soon, and as for the promo code gave me the line about using a psp 3000 so I wasn’t eligible blah blah so explained that the T&Cs dont actually say that I’d NEVER be eligible by using a PSP Go, he seemed to understand and promised to escalate it to head office, and I should have a reply in 48Hrs. Meanwhile, an email has been sent to Watchdog…just in case

Other option will be to create a new PSN account for the replacement Go…depends how much you already have though.
I think there is a way to unstick them, some video file or something, dunno if it works but read it somewhere

Any luck replacing the PSP? Still no codes really fed up now

Posted on 24 January, 2010 at 12:00 am by Paulus-NL
i am wondering why it takes so long to send a simple code?? at this point a am not interested in bying psp games from psn. why? the price is most of the times higher then in the local game store. to reduce the “pain” sony makes some actions like this one to get a free game. But people don’t get a free game/code/mail response/ straight answer. the only thing i read now on the web is that the psp go and ps3 are hacked.

My replacement psp should arrive today, also the codes (when they arrive) should work fine on the new system. If not I’ll be right back on the phone to em!

Yeah guessed that
Ive given up, sony wont back down about these fricking codes, and I’m sick of dealing with them.
Still love the Go though, just wish they were a bit more bothered about providing good service – they clearly still know how as your replacement seems to have gone OK.
They will not budge on the T&Cs at all, which is funny as the customer service where I work says you can do whatever you need to make a customer happy, even if they have made a mistake. Guess some companies don’t have such a customer focus and are more interested in profit.
Makes me SO GLAD the ps3 has been hacked

still no code in the mailbox. the only thing i get is an dead PS3 and a horrible help-desk service :@ it really sucks. i won’t pay 200 euro (after buying the ps3 at the release for 600) to get a new one. why is the guaranty only 1 year on a (expensive) product like the PS3?????? this sucks big time :@

My decision to buy a Go! was partly based on this offer, and like everyone else I’m left without any code. Maybe I’ll see if I can return it and get a refund.
What I think is really weak is that Adam Grant will use this public forum to announce his offers, but doesn’t have the guts to reply and explain the stupid T’s & C’s.
Come on Adam – step up!
Cheers
