I still have to pinch myself to test that I’m not dreaming, but it only results in my arms being covered in bruises. Which means just one thing: Final Fantasy XIII really is releasing in less than two months time. Okay, two things: Final Fantasy XIII really is releasing in less than two months and I need to cut my nails.
Luckily the wait will be slightly less painful for me because later today I’ll be seeing the English version of Final Fantasy XIII in action and asking some questions to the game’s producer, Yoshinori Kitase, and director, Motomu Toriyama. I can’t bring you guys along and let you play the game with me (even though I’d love to!), but I can get your questions answered.
So make sure you fill up the comments section with your most burning questions and I’ll pick the best ones tonight to ask to the guys behind the game. Unfortunately it looks like I’m not going to get this one video’d, but at least this means you’ll get your hands on the answers sooner.

1. Are Square-Enix overestimating the cross over appeal of the Banshee-like wailer Leona Lewis in regard to Final Fantasy players and XFactor fans ?
2. Will there be officially licensed (or third party) ear plugs available in store for when the aforementioned talent show shrieker issues forth her ear-mangling “performance” of her overwrought vomit inducing “song” ?

This has been the most hyped Final Fantasy for some time, I’d ask if they were pressured, or felt pressured, to try and tap into whatever it was that made FF7 such a beloved juggernaut. Not necessarily from the fans, I mean from the studio itself – were there ever notes passed back and forth about hitting similar themes or characters?

I dont understand the new battle system is it the same as FF7 and FF8 where you attack and then the enemy does too?

Why did you remove the old style world map that you could explore and the ability to fly an airship. A lot of fans felt this was something that really made FF great. Do you think it is something that will ever be brought back?

Here’s my question.
1. Why was a lot of content cut out from the game?
2. If there are plans for DLC, does this mean we’ll have sub-stories to download for the different characters?

I have a good question:
Why is FF XIII being so bad received in Japan? Why fans are so disappointed and calling it “Linear”?
After FF X, why did all the FF series became more prettier and less playable?
It would be nice to at least get the first question answered, I’ve been a dedicated fan of the series since FF VII, and it would be really nice to get that out my my mind.
I’m having doubts about buying this one, honestly.

1. We used to just have the logo on a white background which I (and many others) preferred over the crowded US covers, so why a change and can we turn it round to have the traditional cover?
2. Will we ever see a return to the world map? I miss controlling the airships and stuff.
3. Why Leona Lewis? will the Japanese theme tune be included as an option?
4. with all the talk about a Final Fantasy VII remake how about a Final Fantasy VIII remake?
5. with all the cuts you made I smell DLC, please tell me, am I right?

Ok I have a few questions though it would appear that many other people are asking similar questions, the most important being:
1) Will the PS3 edition of FFXIII include dual audio and the original theme?
I appreciate the hefty amounts of work and effort that have gone into re-animating the lip-synch for the EU/US release, which by the way is very impressive so kudos. However the original voice work always seems to carry more emotion than that of the English dub… And the Leona Lewis song… why?
2) Though it’s been stated that FFXIII was created for PS3 and will be ported to other platforms, has the games development suffered content restrictions amongst other limitations that may be imposed with the game going multiplatform?
3) Will we be seeing DLC after the games release that may add extra areas to the world? Or perhaps episodic content that may add new characters and stories to the game a-la GTA IV?
4) I’ve heard that there will be a limited edition for Europe. Can they elaborate on the contents?

Questions:
Will FF Tactics ever be released in Europe on PSN as a PSOne classic?
In October 2008 it was reported that there was some tension between Kitase and Wada. Has that been resolved or is the tension still there?
What does Kitase think of the Direction Square is taking making games more westernised.
What was working on a game for the Xbox like in comparison with working on the PS3.
Do they think that the new audience captured in porting to the Xbox will be worth the backlash they have received in the press about reduced content and linear gameplay (which has generally been blamed on the limitaions of the Xbox).
Obviously, out of those questions, the FF Tactics one is the most important.
Thank you.

Will the CG cutscenes be synced to the english voices? They weren’t in the trailers.
On average, how many polygons are you displaying on screen?

The game is now out in Japan, and a lot of people are enjoying the game already worldwide.
1. How does it feel to be a part of a project, which is known to be the most anticipated game in 2010? How did everyone experience this and what are your plans for the future?

Apparently all that content was cut due to it making the game too long
But what is wierd about this is since when have Square Enix cared about making a game shorter? Long is good!
The only reason I can think of is cos of the 360
But if they have another reason then I’m sure everyone would love to hear it

What do the team think about the main complains of the game: Lineality, plotholes, no backtracking, no minigames. And why they decided the game to took that direction?
What do they think about the many japanese company’s plans of making games more western? Don’t they think that beign japanese is what makes those games sell
Did they played any of the PS3 japanese rpgs? Which ones did they like? which ones of the unreleased ones will they buy/play?

Why did you release this game on Xbox 360? It has meant cutting out around half of the content!

I’ve got a question and a request:
Question: Will FFXIII have Japanese voice tracks?
Request: Put Japanese voice tracks in the western release of FFXIII. Everyone wants it, and you’ve got PLENTY of space on the PS3 disc for it (nobody cares about XBox360).
