‘Heads-Up’ PlayStation Store Update (21st January 2010)

Good day to you all, hope you’ve all had a good week.

Today, as most of you blog readers will know, is the day that we unleash the ModNation Racers Beta for you, and for the first 100,000 people who download it when the store updates (should be mid-afternoon), I can assure you, you’ll be having a LOT of fun. I will update on here, and via my twitter feed, as soon as the store is live.

We also have a fresh batch of special offers available for you, with a selection that should cater for all tastes. Personally, I think Smash Cars is great value, and that reduction on Unbound Saga is also very tempting is it not? Okay, enough tactless sales attempts I promise.

We also have some new dynamic themes for Heavy Rain, Buzz! and Singstar, and another mini title, Vector TD, is added to the minis family. This is all wrapped up with a few more bits and pieces, full details below.

Finally, this week, in another attempt to shamelessly please you all with freebies, I have a couple of handfuls of dynamically themed codes (very subtle hint on what they’re for I know) to give away. However, rather than ask you to pander to me for them, let’s try this instead; those who want to try and get a code from me reply below completing the following sentence “I don’t deserve one of your codes because…” I’ll give codes away today and tomorrow, to those replies I deem the best.

I look forward to reading your comments :D

Ooh ModNation :D

    Mike Kebby 21 January, 2010 @ 12:44 pm

Haha…I can’t believe how many comments are coming through already…I may have miscalculated the interest in my codes ;)

Any sign of the Tekken DLC?

Thank you for this weeks update.

Not much for me, but Smash Cars is a nice deal for 7,99 EUR!

I don’t deserve one of your codes because…” i wasnt the first to post on this tread.

johndrinkwater 21 January, 2010 @ 12:33 pm   5

I don’t deserve one of your codes because… I neglected my e-mail over Christmas which meant I missed the ModNation theme code I was sent :’(

sweetasman01 21 January, 2010 @ 12:33 pm   6

I don’t deserve one of your codes because when my PS3 got the YLOD after only 2 years and Sony tried to fix it 6 times, I took them to court in New Zealand and WON a new PS3 plus damages.

I don’t deserve one of your codes because…there are people out there that can’t get to this thread in time lol….But here if your offering?!?! :D

Vlakvarkie_ZA 21 January, 2010 @ 12:34 pm   8

I don’t deserve one of your codes because “I am from South Africa”

“I don’t deserve one of your codes because…”

…because I never gave you any flak for the poor updates. Seriously, how dare I not shout my lungs out at you!

I don’t deserve one of your codes because… I prefer (not) xbox 360!!

ninja_tom 21 January, 2010 @ 12:34 pm   11

thorgrimm 21 January, 2010 @ 12:34 pm   12

SuperJag86 21 January, 2010 @ 12:34 pm   13

Hey Mike,
I was wondering if we were likely to get the free GT PSP car pack DLC which was available on the US store last week?

I don’t deserve one of your codes because… I thought I was the Messiah, but I’m just a Very Naughty Boy…

imajinetion 21 January, 2010 @ 12:35 pm   15

I don’t deserve one of your codes because… I have been whining on the blog before, but in all honesty the blog is a bonus thing that we should be proud to have, and something that Microsoft and Nintendo can’t say they have :)

    Mike Kebby 21 January, 2010 @ 12:59 pm

They also don’t have me either ;) (That is SO a joke, I honestly don’t believe I do anything out of the ordinary here believe me)

I’ll be grabbing modnation racers >.>

Also unbound saga is tempting for only 3.99! :O

I don’t deserve one of your codes because i haz bags if ice

Mortis316UK 21 January, 2010 @ 12:35 pm   17

BusterMachine19 21 January, 2010 @ 12:36 pm   19

Slightly gutted that I bought Super Stardust for the PSP, but them’s the breaks I guess.

Other than that, yet more misery for the Go owners! This is becoming a bit of a theme in 2010…..

I don’t deserve one of your codes because I touch myself at night.

    Mike Kebby 21 January, 2010 @ 1:00 pm

Now this certainly deserves a code, well played mantez :) I’ll send it to you a bit later on.

“I don’t deserve one of your codes because I got to much money on my PSN account”

Not much for me this week, hope i can get ModNation…

Modnation racers woop woop!

“I don’t deserve one of your codes because my face has been melted by the awesomeness of modnation racers, and I liked my face…”

I don’t deserve one of your codes because I only started following you on twitter last week. :P

More importantly than a theme though; is the the Modnation beta the same as the US aside from the new tracks? In other words is it an improved version?

hello Mike,

do you know something about Agarest Generations of War DLC release?

I don’t deserve one of your codes because…i cant stop playing Demon’s Souls

(Its true)

YES! ModNation Racers Beta Mid Afternoon! I’ll be following your twitter! Here’s hoping popularity doesn’t crash the server!

I don’t deserve one of your codes because today I’m skipping work to download the Modnation Racers beta!! :P

imajinetion 21 January, 2010 @ 12:37 pm   28

By the way, is Silent Hill: Shattered Memories coming to PSN soon?

djax-djax 21 January, 2010 @ 12:37 pm   29

Very poor update for PSP, as usual :-/, not interesting games. Still not promised Williams Pinball :-/

I don’t deserve one of your codes because…..after I continually praised and applauded your efforts on the store from day one, I have now polarized my opinion and now you can do no right.

:)

imperfecti 21 January, 2010 @ 12:37 pm   31

“I don’t deserve one of your codes because I’m too good for it”

halljames 21 January, 2010 @ 12:37 pm   32

I don’t deserve one of your codes because I don’t have a PS3 and your codes are always for PS3 content.

Confirmation for FF8 next week mike? :)

Hi mike, what happened to “This is Football Management (£3.99/€4.99) Rating: PEGI 3
Availability: All locales” that you posted about 2 weeks ago? (http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2010/01/07/%E2%80%98heads-up%E2%80%99-playstation-store-update-7th-january-2010/)

It still doesn’t show up on my PSN. :/

    Mike Kebby 21 January, 2010 @ 1:08 pm

I’m afraid that was removed from the store…but it will be showing up at some point in the future.

ssaannttii 21 January, 2010 @ 12:38 pm   35

ShogunDarius 21 January, 2010 @ 12:38 pm   37

I realy wanted Vandal Hearts to be in this update, back in the PS1 days I used to switch on the fly between playing Vandal Hearts and Suikoden, both epic games.

I don’t deserve one of your codes because I was waiting for FFVIII serval weeks and I’ll keep waiting one week more, so I am mad at you, Mike. Anyway, good job beside the lack of new contents for me.

Boereraat 21 January, 2010 @ 12:38 pm   39

I don’t deserve one of your codes because I am going pop a vein waiting for FFVIII!

I don’t deserve one of your codes because I am in fact a hamster. A very clever hamster that can type.

    Mike Kebby 21 January, 2010 @ 1:09 pm

But I know for a fact Hamsters can’t use a PS3, so a code would be wasted on you ;)

beardyweirdy 21 January, 2010 @ 12:38 pm   41

i dont deserve a code because i am stuck on Demons Souls like you mike and its taking up to much time of my life

“I don’t deserve one of your codes because I’m happy with the update” :-)

Yes, LocoRoco is reduced. Thanks

I don’t deserve one of your codes because I’m to lazy to participate in contests…

PirateThom 21 January, 2010 @ 12:39 pm   50

I don’t deserve one of your codes because while it may be a splendid code, I feel I will just squander it and use it to buy drugs or booze after selling it on eBay with a high reserve, at which point my life will go into a downward spiral of drugs, gambling and women until, finally, I have to resort to crime to feed my vices and pay off debts. One day, I’ll be arrested by the police while in a small backwater town in Ohio and resist arrest and be gunned down, while ‘Here Comes the Sun’ plays on a car radio.

Scene.

    Mike Kebby 21 January, 2010 @ 1:11 pm

I’m sending you a code, and whilst at first you’ll fight the temptation to use it, eventually you will, and then the spiral will start. Please let me know how it all goes though ;) I’m happy to be your sponsor.
