Hi everyone – it’s time for the first ‘Four Days’ challenge to begin… If you’ve already registered, then you’re ready to embark on a unique series of three four-day challenges that will draw you into the universe of Heavy Rain. If you haven’t registered yet, then head over to www.HeavyRainPS3.com to sign-up (you’ll also get an exclusive PlayStation Home t-shirt when you do).
This week, you’ll find yourself looking into a dark and mysterious mind – follow, and see just how far their influence has already spread. The rain is already falling – start looking there for answers…
Four Days: The Heavy Rain Online Experience is a live online mystery which plays out in real time across three weeks. Between Tuesday and Friday every week there will be daily tasks for you to complete (leaving you the weekend to catch up if you fall behind). Each task will lead you onto the next part of the journey. At key stages you will be prompted, whilst on other occasions you will need to deduce the right thing to do. You will receive an instructional email at the beginning of each of the three weekly events, and you can always turn to the Facebook Fan Page Community for help and discussion.
Along the way, you may well discover some cool exclusive content – but just as importantly, it’ll be a fun experience, and you won’t find any spoilers that will ruin your experience of playing Heavy Rain itself!

Quantic Dreams promised us in 2009 to include more than 10 languages on one Blu-Ray with Heavy Rain. It sounded too good to be true. And so it is.
http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/20/heavy-rain-features-13-voiced -languages-subtitles-in-5-more/
Now, it is only one language on a single Blu-Ray depending on a country where you buy it.
That’s what made me sad.

Alex, could you provide more info on the languages included in Heavy Rain? How is it going to work? Many gamers are arguing about it now. Will the UK version have only English language and will the Dutch version have only Dutch language? For most of us, it is of a great significance.

You are right! That only adds to my disappointment. The least Sony and Quantic Dream could do is release a language patch after the release of the game, like inFAMOUS did.

Exactly, some guys have noticed that Uncharted2 came from the UK with only one language included (English). Before that, all games came perfectly with the whole package of languages.
We can assume that Sony decided to sell their games this way in order to prevent gamers from buying cheaper games in the UK and importing them.
What can I say? This will certainly prevent me from importing games from the UK. I might just buy them here a couple of months/years after release.

You don’t know anything abut this game, right? I’m shocked to see comments like this, because they show that you don’t know ANYTHING about this game… You just post that commentary like if you never saw a trailer of the game, which makes your opinion almost invalid.

@34 The t-shirt for home is unrelated to the 4 days challenge, you don’t need it as this is all internet based.

re: cost of games
I moved to Italy 14 months ago and couldn’t believe the cost of games out here (eg, I saw far cry 2 still at €60 the other day). Glad I can just keep importing from the uk with no problems.

The worst part here… i’m sure UK SKU have all European languages, but they are blocked (by a mouse click, so easy) and you only can use English.
I don’t understand how a french developer can do that, what’s wrong with you guys of Quantic Dream? French people are in the same place as spanish, german or italian and many more.
Of course Sony is your publisher and i guess they have much to say about that, but you should don’t allow this bad movements.

It is a very bad move on the part of Quantic Dreams.
Now, I cancelled my pre-order at HMV.com, but do not want to pay almost €90 euros for the Special Edition here in the Netherlands.
I am so disappointed…

There seem to be no logic why the prices of the games are so much cheaper in the UK and US/Canada. Every single Sony exclusive game since infamous, released on the UK territory only has one language. They tend to do that for Blu-ray videos too. It sucks. Why should the rest of europe be ripped off each time they buy a new game?
What’s the point of having a region free console, if sony is tricking us into buying the SKU they want us to play. It’s total nonsense and hypocrisy. Make the games cheaper on the PAL territory, and we’ll stop hurting the sales in our own country by importing from somewhere else.

Yes.
Sony try to discourage gamers that want to import their games from the UK. But also British gamers could find it quite annoying: if they wanted to replay the game in Franch (which I would love to do), it would not be possible.
I could not believe my eyes when I saw the statement of Mr. Pavey about missing translations in the UK version of the game, especially considering the fact that Sony promised us in 2009 to include more than 10 languages on the Blu-Ray with Heavy Rain. It seemed to me a great idea, especially because I learn various languages and would like to play the game in English, Dutch, French, German… But it is not possible.

********Spoiler Alert*******
Ok, so figured out that the random combination of letters was in fact a Twitter account (the @ symbol kinda gave that away). I am now following @perfectfolds and they have begun tweeting.
They seem to be referring to pages (specifically p4 and p11) with some fairly grisly stories. Maybe referring to newspaper articles? which tho?
