‘Heads-Up’ PlayStation Store Update (4th February 2010)

Final Fantasy VIII

…sorry, did I need to say anymore than that this week? :D

Ahem. We’ve got a real mixed bag of content this week, starting with a new batch of special offers, including our first ever promotion for some of our minis titles. These feature some of our best-selling minis, and help us to kick off minis month with a little bit of style. We’ll also be celebrating with another batch of reduced minis titles in a couple of weeks, so keep your eyes peeled for those too.

We have two demos for the highly anticipated titles Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Aliens vs. Predator; I feel we’re servicing our shooter fans especially well this week.

Throw in a couple of new minis titles, lots of game add-ons and a sprinkling of videos and you get this week’s helping of PSN goodness. Om nom nom, how do you like them ap…titles.

As usual, I’ll be lurking in the comments section so leave me a comment.

Have a good week.

ModNation beta runs until the 14th of Feb.

tutchmedia 4 February, 2010 @ 12:37 pm   24

Hi Mike,

When will the Heavy Rain demo be available?

Barzano12 4 February, 2010 @ 12:38 pm   25

Hey cool.
Free LBP Costumes and FF8. Nice one this week :D

So much toys.

Nightjester 4 February, 2010 @ 12:38 pm   27

Nice update will be trying both demos and may even dabble with a mini!

ljforlozz 4 February, 2010 @ 12:38 pm   28

Q: As scee ever thought of holding a list of every ps1 game and go down the list contacting the publishers for example Neversoft ring them up and ask if the tony hawk games can be put on the ps store, Don’t be scared it’s a yes or no answer i’m sure. then carry on with the rest,,,

    Mike Kebby 4 February, 2010 @ 12:44 pm

We are working on getting all the PSone games that we can from the publishers, but there are many barriers to work through. We’ll release what we can.

djax-djax 4 February, 2010 @ 12:38 pm   29

Worst update from the begining of this year, only one game (very boring game) for PSP and only two new minis (looks boring too) :-/… Better for me is to buy new games on UMD (lucky that I have PSP 3000 with support of UMD, PSPGo users must be crying for the updates with no interesting games).

Where is for example Williams Pinball or Pinball Heroes?

ljforlozz 4 February, 2010 @ 12:39 pm   30

I also remember sony saying about us having to pay to use the ps store well with the lack of games i 100% will sell my ps3 if so ,, oh and i traded my psp go to GAME for £150 which i spent on pc games for my new alienware M15x which i enjoy as i can have anything on it now ps1 roms too :-D

BFBC2 Demo for me. Thanks! ^__^

Whens final fantasy IX coming (just kidding) nice to see the updates are getting a bit better

Animation-Imp 4 February, 2010 @ 12:39 pm   33

Half minute hero demo uk-only,

I hope this doesn’t reflect the availability of the full game when it’s released.

My Belgian Go needs food…

Gautier82 4 February, 2010 @ 12:40 pm   34

I think it’s simply the best update I’ve ever seen!!!

AcidCrashX 4 February, 2010 @ 12:40 pm   35

MIKEFACE!! :D

great update today, not because of FF8 but due to the awesome demo of AVP and HMH :)

see you the MAG field ;)

OMG FF8 finally! *explodes with excitement*

Boereraat 4 February, 2010 @ 12:40 pm   37

Sweet! Back to 1999 for me!

i see we finally got braid after half a year can we expect the other games we are missing, pretty mediocre update still no new psp games sony should advise ppl not 2 buy psp go cause it’s pretty much useless in europe.

Decent update.

Bad special offers, though. 3 weeks until next ones? :(

Any news on Castle Crashers? Is it even coming Q1?

DaisukeAndo 4 February, 2010 @ 12:41 pm   40

Wooooo! FINAL FANTASY VIII !!! Now I can take a break from playing FINAL FANTASY XIII and play imo the BEST FF ever!
Just one question… will it actually work? Seeing as the dics dont =____=

Arlanthir 4 February, 2010 @ 12:41 pm   41

What a great update, with a perfect PSX Classic, a perfect Demo (BFBC2), Special Offers, PSP Content, everything!

From now on, I’m keeping my feedback page here:
http://psnfeedback.pt.vu

I’ll update regularly, and I urge everyone who agrees to make yourselves heard. We have the opportunity to give feedback that Mike considers heavily and he’s our best shot at Sony CE Europe :)

imajinetion 4 February, 2010 @ 12:41 pm   42

Fuuuuu, I read that Heavy Rain demo would be out this week.

Dagnamnit!

bigmoorer 4 February, 2010 @ 12:42 pm   43

Hey mike,

Please can you find out when the WWE Smackdown vs Raw DLC pack will be on the eu stores as the US have had it for 2 weeks now.

cheers.

AbsolutionLukeh 4 February, 2010 @ 12:42 pm   44

*waits patiently*

Great update!
but any news about ps1 tomb raider 4?

lonek_rwl 4 February, 2010 @ 12:42 pm   46

Hahaha… why there will be no BC2 and AvP demos for Germany?

I’m liking the updates being earlier. And I shall be getting FF8 and downloading the demos. A good week all round, well shame about the rock band update since I don’t like country but you can’t have it all.

Glad to see the release of FFVIII, we’re slowly but surely starting to build up a catalogue of PSone classics that can match up with the US PS store.

Good work team!

Just as an aside, are we likely to see any more major PSone classic titles released in the next month?

ljforlozz 4 February, 2010 @ 12:43 pm   49

P.S wasn’t getting at you mike , but the ps3 has been out years now :-/

HiddenAway 4 February, 2010 @ 12:43 pm   50

Hey Mike!

Are you not adding FF8 to the PSP/Media Go release list as well?

Minor observation…
