…sorry, did I need to say anymore than that this week?
Ahem. We’ve got a real mixed bag of content this week, starting with a new batch of special offers, including our first ever promotion for some of our minis titles. These feature some of our best-selling minis, and help us to kick off minis month with a little bit of style. We’ll also be celebrating with another batch of reduced minis titles in a couple of weeks, so keep your eyes peeled for those too.
We have two demos for the highly anticipated titles Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Aliens vs. Predator; I feel we’re servicing our shooter fans especially well this week.
Throw in a couple of new minis titles, lots of game add-ons and a sprinkling of videos and you get this week’s helping of PSN goodness. Om nom nom, how do you like them ap…titles.
As usual, I’ll be lurking in the comments section so leave me a comment.
Have a good week.

I find it difficult to be excited about FF8 coming to the store since 2 copies I own of the game don’t work on the ps3 properly, seems a bit of a cheek to be honest.
However there are a few things in the update that have caught my eye.

Wait, what, Final Fantasy 8…
Let me just say that two more times, final fantasy 8, final fantasy VIII…!
Someone pinch me, are my eyes deceiving me, final fantasy 8 – the best game of all time, I think my left side is going numb…

I can not understand, how someone should write “Great update!” for this week update… :-/, its very bad update… no new interesting games…

That’s the good thing about being individuals…we all have very different tastes.
Your opinion is perfectly valid, but then the same is true for everyone else

Having Final Fantasy VIII here is brilliant.
I dont suppose you have any news on Vandal Hearts: Flames of Judgment Mike?
I love SRPG’s above all else so any info you could share would be swell.
Solid demos out today too. Bandwidth is going to take a hit when I get home from work.

I can’t wait for FF VIII.
My physical copy won’t play past the opening part.
Hey Mike,
Thanks for putting up with us the last 4 months asking about FF VIII.
I hope you will get some peace before you get bombarded with other requests.
I still want Suikoden, Grandia and Legend of Dragoon but I won’t pester you with those…yet.

I’m sorry to people who want to play the demo but for me:
THANK GOD the rumoured Heavy Rain demo didn’t appear this week…..I would have had to chop off my hands to stop myself from downloading it! (i’m staying 100% spoiler free, got CE on preorder).
Up by 1? Sounds good, thanks a lot man.
Looking forward to both demos.

Woo hoo! FFVIII completes everything that I’ve been waiting for (although I’d imagine I’ll pick up the Heavy Rain Demo next week).
I now have nothing left to look forward to, the only thing left to say is “So long…and thanks for all the codes!”

“I also remember sony saying about us having to pay to use the ps store”
This was never said by Sony at any point. There was a rumour that there would be a premium subscription version of PS3 online gaming in addition to the service we currently have, but paying to access the store? I’m sorry but that is just a dumb thing to think will happen.

Can’t wait to get my hands on Aliens vs. Pred, Sega have really been outdoing themselves recently.

No Heavy Rain demo? Oh well, i guess 3 demos in one go (as rumoured) was asking for to much.
I like the new time this’ll be going live at, it would be good if you guys could always get the updates this early.
Also seeing as Square seen pretty onboard with the whole PSOne Classics thing, see if we cant get Front Mission 4 up.

Mike,
Could you pass this on to your colleagues? It seems they don’t read things ( I already posted it in last weeks blog 28 January, 2010 at 5:18 pm, but is seems you missed it. )
I used the “Contact PlayStation.Europe by Email” (5 weeks ago) link in the right panel of this blog but never got any reply or an automessage saying they got my message.
One time when I used a form (global site) that did send my message to SCEA I got almost instant replies.
If you could pass to your mail support colleagues that they should atleast send a message they get back at you in X days I would know that they received it. And reply to me within those days. Now it looks more like i’m being ignored and it makes me currently not wanting to buy SCEE products.
And after all those attempts (2x SCEA (unclear answers 9 and 5 weeks ago), 1x SCEE (no answer 5 weeks ago) 1 PM to a SCEE forum mod (no answer, 11 days ago)) I got no clearance on my issue (the WipEoutHD ingame ads (yes I hear from some people that they are gone, others still have them, but again, NO answer from SCEE to anything, so it is also unclear if they come back)).
Looking forward for your reply

Hi Mike
Made my first post last week but it was quite late in the day so it was way back at the end. Without going over the same ground again, I must say that as a PSPgo owner, the store updates are very poor.
The store is our only means of getting games. The lack of older PSP coming to the store is quite shocking. I know the game companies have to submit the games to you but it is a worry.
I have had many problems since buying the PSPgo and I’m even fed up with myself for moaning about it. The PSPgo needs all the good PR it can get: The rumored relaunch can’t come quick enough to give this flagging system a boast.
Heres hoping for a brighter future and more much need store content, in this new digital world.

FF8!
Now when’s FF9 eh Mike?
hahaha just kidding not that soon
BTW, I heard you got Demon’s Souls. How far are you in the game? I finished World 4, and defeated 3 bosses in world 1, one in world 2 and one in world 5
Posted on 4 February, 2010 at 1:05 pm by Mike Kebby
My progress in Demon’s Souls…well…um…I’ve only done 1-1 and that’s it. It’s on the pile of games I WILL play (because I did enjoy what I played) but it was so frustrating in parts, I needed a break from it

Kebby you big beautiful son of a gun. I could kiss you for getting Final Fantasy VIII up before I have to go home to Dublin. Now I actually have something to do over there . Also the missus sends her thanks for giving her new powers on Infamous now if only she can kill people without feeling guilty and immediately reviving them.
