Hi everyone,
I’m Matt Roche and work as part of the International PR team.
Big Daddy is on his way! We are all really excited about the upcoming release of Bioshock 2 on February 9th and hope you are too. To stir your interest some more we have two pieces of news to share.
Firstly, the guys over on the US PlayStation Blog recently held a Q&A session with our development studio 2K Marin to discuss everything Bioshock 2.
We FINALLY got the invite up to 2KGames Marin to talk to the BioShock 2 team, and what better timing than a week away from the game’s release. We certainly gathered by your abundance of Tweets that excitement for BioShock 2 is crazy high. So on Monday, I sat down with Senior Producer Melissa Miller and Lead Environment Artist Hogarth de la Plante (with a chillingly lifelike Little Sister standing eerily behind us) who answered a heap of your questions — so many in fact that we had to split the video into two parts.
So today, you’ll see part one that focuses primarily on BioShock 2’s single-player campaign, including details on story development, philosophical influence, plasmids and much more. And head on back tomorrow for part two, which delves deep into the much-anticipated multiplayer mode.
Secondly, the Bioshock 2 launch trailer is now live. You can see it in all it’s glory below. Thoughts are welcome.
Stay tuned in the coming weeks as I hope to provide more updates.
Cheers,
Matt

BioShock 2 should be great. I loved the first one, and this one looks to share the same eerie atmosphere that made the original so good.

Loved Bioshock and am looking forward to the sequel. As an added bonus Zavvi were kind enough to reduce the price of the Rapture Edition (Game + Art Book from the CE version) to a bargain £29.95, less a £2 discount and it cost me a mere £28 – definitely my biggest bargain of the year so far!
Regarding Bioshock 2 is there the good/evil element to the gameplay like there was in the first game? I know there are still two options for what you do with the Little Sisters but how does it effect gameplay – is there multiple endings again?
I hope the story twist is as good (and surprising) as it was in the original!
(P.S. Sorry if that has been covered in the Q&A already – but I can’t access the videos from work!)

YAY BIOSHOCK 2!
But where is my Final Fantasy VIII this sad, lonely Feb 4th evening? ;_;
Please tell me it’ll be here in a couple hours or something…

I want FF8 too. Even added a tenner to my wallet ready for the purchase! It must be coming today, surely.

I can’t wait to return to Rapture. I’ve also got next week off, where’s better than Rapture for a vacation? I’ve even put Bayonetta and AC2 on hold for now and hope to have Dante’s Inferno completed by Tuesday.

Not seen a single bit of footage from the PS3 version and this was a PS3 Q&A???
Seriously, if you’re going to do an interview, at least get the video for the PS3 version. This is one reason I’m holding off on buying B2, because until I see footage, I can see it looking like the first one, which was poor compared to the 360 version.
Just not good signs if they aren’t willing to show any PS3 footage.

So looking forward to this and I still haven’t finished the first one hopefully the whole atmosphere of Rapture is the same.
I alos picked this up from Zavvi what a bargain and they have already sent it out so with some luck I may have it within the next few days.

That was an amazing trailer! Great job – I really want the game now but I’m not getting it until that 5GB install is optional even if it means insane loading times. I just don’t have the room…
