God of War III Ultimate Trilogy Edition – Box Unveiled!

How much is the weight of this UE? GAME said in an email that they will not ship items over 1kg.

Hi there i have one question, its about the documentary with peter weller, i was wondering if we are in europe are not going to get it as part of the boxset will we be able to get it on the the PSN as part of the video store?

It was going to be a day one purchase but with such release limitations (ie can’t find a preorder that’s not sold out and which still gives me access to DLC from the Belgian PlayStation Store) I am not even going to buy the stand alone GoW3 on day one. Maybe when it’s platinum

someone already asked about the lack of making of/behind the scenes documentary in the PAL version, and i just wondered if those of us from the UK would be able to get a hold of it some time in the future? or is it just a case of waiting untill someone uploads it to youtube?

also, is there any specific reason WHY it was removed from the UK edition? it was a key reason as to why i pre-ordered the ultimate trilogy edition, and it’s absence is kinda dissapointing. art cards dont really make up for it.

Am I right in thinking that the EU get GoW 1 and 2 remastered whatever edition in place of the documentary? If so, good. I’d rather have two awesome games that will last me a good 10 hours each than a 3 hour documentary that I might sit through once, maybe twice.

A bit sad , but this is the 3rd time that Thach has made a post and then abandoned answering any comments after a few hours of the post being made. There are many questions here by potential customers – If you’re too busy to reply , either get someone else to do it for you or lock out comments when you’re not going to read/reply any more.

Had this on preorder from game the day it was available tht box is fantastic makes up for the poor box art on the game itself lol i don’t mind paying 110 quid as its my fav game franchise so seems fitting to send it out in style :p am very psyched about the new trailer too could someone confirm the eu release date though please thanks

I’d prefer to just buy GoW3 and GoW Collection as separate items… but GoW Collection isn’t coming out stand-alone? Why not?

What’s up with Sony giving different packages/games to different regions these days? It’s madness – it only does harm to your brand.

I just went to Game.co.uk to have a final look at the Trilogy Edition and make up my mund about it, but it appears to have been removed from Games listings all I get is a redirect their front page. There is no sign og the Trilogy Edition at all.

If it was sold out, they would have stated that on the page, instead of removing the whole listing for it. Has game lost exclusive rights to it or something, because that would hopfully bring the price down.

Can anybody official on the blog actually reply to myself and the other posters about where the big documentary has gone too.

Just had a little panic as I see God of War Trilogy has been taken off the Game website. Is this due to its popularity. I really must get this game in this boxset (I have already got the collection imported… talk about dedication) and I dont wanna miss out!!!

PlayStation must’ve advised Game/Gamestation how many they are initially going to provide to them and they all must’ve been sold out!! Maybe PlayStation will be able to provide more to them, who knows?

I have preordered it with Game so quite relieved if they have sold out that I got my foot in there first (I preordered it 4th Jan… as soon as it popped up on the site). There will certainly be hell to pay if they mess up my preorder and I miss out

Is it still possible to pre-order an ultimate collection edition? I’d really like one so, lemme know if I should keep looking on sites like I did about 2-3 hours yesterday, or just live with it I’m getting myself a normal one… Sadface :’( ^^

I was initially upset with you people for not letting us diehard Playstation gamers in india get the Steel book edition of Uncharted2,but hey i am right now jumping up and down cos we in india are getting the Ultimate Trilogy Edition and i am getting one on day ONE

I can’t wait to get my own as I’m a huge fan of the series and the game looks spectacular! I’ve preordered so each week I’ve put some money on it so I can afford other ‘important’ things like rent, food etc but this is something I’m really looking forward to this year.

Hey mate you’re a little too late to preorder the Ultimate look for it on ebay, maybe JBHIFI will have it. I think we get it a few days after everybody else so March 19th because we always get new games on a Thursday or Friday for some f’ing reason.

yeah im still wondering if GAME uk will advertise the trilogy edition again as i really wanted to get this and now i have the spare money its gone, i sent them an email asking why they have taken it off and if it will return, havent got a reply yet doubt i will.

Yep TheGeneral, I’m in the exact same situation. Had no money when I first saw this and was very disappointed. VERY luckily I was given, completely by chance, 100 great British pounds which I was not expecting. Returned to Games site only to find it completely missing. I am clinging in vain to the tiniest shred of hope that there is some reason other than it being sold out for why its no longer even listed on the site as normally they simply mark it as “sold out”. Its a small hope I know but you have to hope for something.

It would be nothing less then great if we would get a clue why The Box is not on Pre-order chart at Game.co.uk any more?!
Please answer, is it going to be over there again, any time soon?

Guys, I just got a phone call from Gamestop (Dublin, Ireland, St.Stephen Green) that ulitmate trilogy won’t be available in Europe. They cancelled my pre-order! Can someone confirm it? It must be a nightmare!!!

But I thought, the Ultimate Trilogy Edition is Europe exclusive. Maybe they meant the “normal” Ultimate Edition.

My pre-order in Ireland has also been cancelled for the Ultimate Edition as the game has apparently been pulled from most European territories. Well Sony is this true or what? If it is I am bitterly disappointed as this was the one game that I actually really wanted the s.e of and theres no explanation to what is actually going on. Some clarity on this situation would be much appreciated.

I am so sick of being treated like second class citizens by Sony ! they have pulled the special collection from Europe to fulfill the US market requirements. I had perordered the set and paid the full€150 and was really looking forward to getting it next month. it is so wrong to offer something and then withdraw it like this. why are we treated like we don’t matter, its always the same- last on the list- mabey its time to trade in the PS3 for an Xbox!!

I rang GAME yesterday, they told me that they’re not taking preorderes for the GOW3: UT, the only way to preorder it on GAME is via their website, but I can’t find Trilogy Edition there…:/

I’m thinking to buy this game in Germany. Do u know what’s the story with language versions of the game? will GOW support multi languages? (something like Killzone 2)

I just got an email back from Game. Here’s the important bit:

Unfortunately we are currently out of stock of this product.

So I am really confused now. Is it coming to Europe or what?? I wish we could get some kind of indication from Sony.

To valtiel117 and santhedan, Gamestop Ireland were claiming to be doing the GOW3 Trilogy Edition. Then about 2 weeks ago they weren’t sure if they were getting it anymore.
Then they strategically waited last Monday until Game sold out of it. Then started to let people know that they couldn’t secure it but said it was because of it not coming to Europe, which is bogus information. To make up for it you can put your deposit on the standard edition, that everybody else will be getting, instead and get a Kratos t-shirt. Or don’t and never buy from them ever again because they wouldn’t pay Sony the money up front for the stock.

awesome deal! instead of geting sculptured box, GOW 1 and 2, artbooks and all other cool stuff, Gamestop customers will get a …t-shirt (1 size only: XXS)

Thanks for all the info. And at least you had the choice of xxs. It was only large or xxl available in my Gamestop. And to add insult to injury its a GOW2 design. Amateurs!

To andrewsqual, is that true? GAME has sold out? I managed to preorder on the GAME website (and now wreck with worry because it occured to me they might not post it to Ireland) and in my account it says the UT edition has been withdrawn from sale. That doesn’t sound like they’re sold out but rather like ‘we are not selling it’. I don’t know how these things work, but isn’t preorder suppose to let you know how many people want to buy it and so adjust your stock accordingly? Plus the listing for the UT edition has been completely yanked from the site as well. Wouldn’t a ‘this item is sold out’ page be more appropriate?
Would someone from GAME or Sony just come out and confirm it already. Is the UT edition coming to europe or not? Which retailer is selling it? And if they are, is it sold out already?

If it’s anything like Mass Effect 2 then theres a good chance it will come back into stock on or around release day. People will probably cancel nearer launch or Game will realise they have enough stock allocated to relist it.

Fantastic. However, if this is the kind of cruel trick played on customers outside of the US when you have falsified the fact that it will be released here then, like Kratos himself, ripping it from the Hands of Hades and hiding it is some pit of poseidon then what do you expect us to do!

I would be very keep to get this and i have to confess you would make so much money in the Uk for this item if it was re-repeased here and in the other places promised as you may have already learned.. PEOPLE WANT THIS! so my advice clearly on an independant level is, make more money = Release it and Release it = More Money

WOW! I think I’m going to have to purchase this delectable collectible now! I have two questions: (i) Will the Ultimate Trilogy Edition be available in Ireland and if so from which retailers and (ii) How much will it cost in euros approx.?

I prebooked mine in Gamestop before Christmas,they didn’t even have the decency to ring me, I found out here about this,www.GAME.co.uk and GAME Ireland are seperate companies in as far as the website will stock items the stores will not,very amature from Gamestop though,a simple post on their poorly run website would have been appreciated.

when I rang game and gamestation they told me that it would only be up for pre-order online. if its not on the site they told me its possible they have sold out.

My guess is that they are trying to stop the amount of games that would be traded in so that Game gets the full £110 for it.

Another guess of mine is that they could quite possibly have a few trilogy editions in major Game and gamestation stores across the UK on launch day.

Rather naffed off now. Still zero response from Game… they will not get my custom again if I do not recieve my GOW3 Ulitmate Edition… but also now whats naffed me off is that they are advertising a demo of GOW3; which is sent to customers whom have preordered the original game. Well excuse me, but I have ordered the £110 edition; so I would expect the decent thing of being allowed a copy of the demo… but oh no, because Game arent responding to my emails. Useless ******* (Insert whatever swearword you feel suitable here).

I don’t think its just GAME that shouldn’t get our custom. Sony shouldn’t get our custom either. Whats the point of announcing this awesome edition and not being able to purchase it? Whats even worse is nobody is saying anything. A simple confirmation would be enough. But nooo…….honestly, I’m beginning to be turned off from buying GOW 3 altogether.

Looks like it’s IRE/UK problem (or Game/Gamestop problem) – you can easily order it from amazon.de :/ that’s why I asked for a language versions of the game. Will it be the same as a Killzone 2 or Heavy Rain, where all EU countries got the same copy with multilanguage option.

I’ve been trying to pre-order this ultimate edition for ages but i cant find it the ultimate edition is only onsale on american websites. When will it be availabe for pre-order on european websites?

I’ve checked it on amazon.de, but those prices are crazy. €233? really? I am not paying that much for the UT edition. I nearly could buy another ps3 at that price. And what exactly is the problem Sony/Game? It’s always europe that gets the short end of the stick, isn’t it? The US even had a god of war psp edition. Good to know you’re taking good care of us.

Do you all honestly think that the retailers are to blame?I have been doing a hell of a lot of digging about this (even though there is very little info regarding the availability of this from Sony) and I think that Sony have screwed up here. I wasnt sure before but look at the facts. Why would any retailer NOT want to get this exclusive. It has nothing to do with forking up the money. Its the simple fact that Sony have not produced enough and now they have buried their heads in the sand and are letting the retailers deal with the aftermath.

KaiserSoza13: Id suggest getting onto the Gamestop you pre-ordered it in and find out where your t-shirt is. They were allocated t-shirts for all people that pre-ordered the game and ask them why they didnt bother calling you.

God Of War Collection is coming out in Europe in June btw.

I wont and cant be turnt off buying GOW3… but its totally disgraceful to think Game have really ran the market, and its buy it from them, or nothing. To be honest I was pretty impressed with Capcom’s approach when they released Resident Evil 5… they really opened up the market for everyone! If Sony did the same for GOW3; then they’d have a great buzz. How this Ultimate Edition has been handled is nothing short of stupid. There should never be exclusivity for any game on any console either (cue GTA4).
