Howdy…let’s get it on.
To celebrate the one year anniversary of the calming, beautiful and enthralling game that we know and love as Flower, for one week only you can now get this at the reduced price of £2.39/€2.99, so if you haven’t got hold of this game already, now is the perfect time.
Also available for one week only, is the Map Pack Bundle for Call of Duty: World at War at the reduced price of £15.99/€19/99. We also have last week’s special offers, and minis month offers, still available for one more week.
Focusing on the new stuff now, our old friend Frogger is back, with a brand new adventure (try reading that without thinking of Vanilla Ice), and you can also get your hands on the demo for the hugely anticipated Heavy Rain.
We have two new minis available too…minis month madness continues it seems! This is Football Management and The Terminator bring bite sized gaming to your PSP and PS3 this week.
Also for your PSP, Blood Bowl is now available, and we have three demos for you to try, ranging from SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 3, Echoshift to Undead Knights
There’s also a bunch of add-ons, videos and a few other bits and bobs for you to download, so I’m going to take a deep breath, and let you peruse the full list below.
Take it easy all!

Why don’t you answer when people are asking about Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising DLC.. Codemasters, or should I say one of the moderators on their forum, said that the DLC would be out today. We have waited a long time for this. Xbox Live published it last year. So what your problem? Xbox seems to be first with everything.. Its insane.. So please, at least give us a heads up with that DLC.. Come on

@ Mike
Is there any danger of getting some kind of previews up on the store? Looking through this week’s PSP releases I don’t recognise any names, and it seems a bit silly that we have to research things you’re trying to sell us, no?
On a positive note, well done to Sony Cambridge for finally communicating with their customers regarding the LBP PSP issues. It actually feels like progress is being made now

The person responsible for Buzz on the Swedish part of the store needs a wake up or something.
Buzz: Brainbender for PSP is the Finnish version and a lot of the DLC for the PS3 games are not for the Swedish version but for other regions and it’s impossible to get a straight answer from Nordisk Film about it…
Mike can you pull some strings on this?

Nice update. A fair few demos (looking forward to echoshift – love a good time-travelling puzzle – and very interested to see Heavy Rain in action) and that price for Flower is so good I’m seriously thinking about, in future, waiting for twelve months before buying games! A decent little game at an exceptional price.

Sweet, Flower finally dropped. Will be buying that, thanks Sony! Oh, but I don’t appreciate you lowering the price of Pinball Dreams/Fantasies just after I bought them… thanks Sony :[

Another weak offering for PSP Go owners. Are there actually any plans to bring the bulk of the UMD catalogue to the PSN or have Sony just given up on it entirely? Not to mention all those PS1 games that are available outside Europe, which I do frequently.
Posted on 12 February, 2010 at 8:28 am by Mike Kebby
As I said last week, we currently have a back catalogue of over 200 PSP games available via the store, and we are working on getting many more.

Mr Kebby……. how ive tried so many different ways to resolve my issue now this is my last resort before i take other measures…… hopefully i wont have too……… 1:i cant write ant comments via my playstion which is a bit ironic but most importantly is the psp version to “cystle defenders” now i have the ps3 version but also want it on the go… i dont see why i should pay for the same product twice just because its on a different console but made by the same company…. does this make sense or are you really a business 1st custormers 2nd company?? i dont think it is justified to be honest…. please reply and dont disreagard me like the rest off SCEE!! thank you for your time……
Posted on 12 February, 2010 at 8:27 am by Mike Kebby
Hi there,
There are two very separate versions of Crystal Defenders, there is not one version that is compatible to both PS3 and PSP formats, so I’m afraid there is nothing that can be done.
The only content we release that IS compatible for both formats, are minis and PSone games. Sorry.

Please SONY read this and get this done ASAP!
Get a contract whit Quantic Dream or even buy them ASAP! This is a golden opportunity to get an fantastic AAA team. Like an European version of Team Ico! Please! I need more games from them and I would love them to be exclusive to PS3. Because PS3 needs more unique games like Heavy Rain!

Hi Mike.
Why do the US get more dynamic theme’s than we in Uk/EU do?
They have Star trek and South park theme’s!!
They also got a Flower D-theme today as well, why didn’t we get this?
I’m happy to pay for good dynamic themes AND avatars.
GIVE ME THE CONTENT!
Posted on 12 February, 2010 at 8:24 am by Mike Kebby
The Flower one was due here this week also, but was pulled at the last minute. It was meant to be a global release date for this theme, but the US still launched it yesterday. It is coming to SCEE though.
As for other themes, we are looking at other publishers that currently release in the US, so we can have a more diverse range of dynamic themes coming to our stores at some point, though I can’t give specifics just yet.

When are we getting FF:Dissidia and FF: Crisis Core to the store?
I could’ve bought Dissidia as UMD (and I do have Crisis Core on UMD), but I’d rather have it (them) digitally as it’s easier when travelling to just keep it there rather than bring a ton of UMD’s.
Is there no date at all for the release of these two games?

Read a lot of good reviews about Flower, but was unsure. But, at £2.39 (for 1 week only), may as well give it ago. Am also downloading Heavy Rain demo, pretty good update.
Will we ever get any of the classic Resident Evil (PSone) games in the UK??
182
Posted on 12 February, 2010 at 10:17 am by DsupremeR
If you guys want to improve make the EU store then please just remove the silly region coding on the (at least the European!!!) store. What good is it to have region free games, but you can’t download the dlc of the game.
I mean I bought the UK version of Uncharted 2 and Ratchet and Clank 2, because I hated the fact that there was only dutch support in that game. Luckily there has not been any major DLC released yet, but what if I want to buy some DLC for U2 down the road. I can’t do that with my current main account, since it’s a dutch account! Break down the barrier in the European store, or just release the DLC for every product in the store (just like Prince of persia I beleive, with different dvd codes!). Every DLC should give you access to every region version of that game (at least in Europe). I seriously don’t understand why publishers still discriminate between European countries…
This is really holding the PSN store back man. I did not want to bring this up, but please look at your competitor XBOX Live Marketplace. There are no secrets there… Everything is available for every country. And that’s the way it should be done man! Stop with the silly region coding man…
Posted on 12 February, 2010 at 10:19 am by Mike Kebby
I understand the frustration certainly, but I do also know that not all content released on Marketplace is available in all regions.
183
Posted on 12 February, 2010 at 10:44 am by DsupremeR
I’m glad that you understand the frustration. Of course there are minor differences, and I understand the fact that publishers want to keep Japan, USA and Europe separate regions since the game are rarely released on the same day word wide. However, Why isn’t Europe seen as one region?
i want to use the PS3 to the fullest, and I think that many people at PSN now understand that many of their European customers want English support and couldn’t care less for support in their own native language. (insert evidence: inFamous)
So I’m asking why is this not also reflected in PSN? While the region bariers between Europe may be interesting for the publisher, since they are able to market consumers per region, it is also an extra anoyance for the customers. I thought the you guys understood that from the PS2 and that it was the reason you guys made the PS3 region free! But then you guys enforce a region lock on the PSN store! Please tell me where the logic is in that? Because statistics 101 shows me that there is a clear correlation between the two!
Posted on 12 February, 2010 at 11:27 am by Mike Kebby
I can’t go into specifics I’m afraid. It would be great to ensure publishers released content onto every single storefront in the SCEE region, but that cannot be enforced.
184
Posted on 12 February, 2010 at 10:44 am by DsupremeR
I’m just saying that the first step in improving the PSN service is to erase the bariers between the European countries. At least make the UK version of DLC widely available. Worst vase scenario: Introduce an import button in the PSN section, so that people will not accidentally buy the wrong region dlc, but at the same time people that are making use of their ps3 to the fullest and are importing various games, are still able to get DLC!
Now please tell me, this is not such a silly idea right?
185
Posted on 12 February, 2010 at 12:23 pm by DsupremeR
Understandable. Well I’m glad and thankfull you took your time to reply to my questions regarding this issue. I was just trying to get my voice heard, which I’m sure is shared with many others. Hey you know what they say “Never say never” right!

Hey Mike.
Will Vagrant Story be returning to the NZ store or is it gone for good? Do the ratings from the physical copies of games not translate to the digital copy?
I don’t know how hard this would be but it would be great if a public notices board could be set up for items that will be or have been removed from the stores, just so SCEE can keep consumers are in the know.
Also i have noticed that the Disney classics “A bugs Life” and “Hercules” do not have a rating advertised. Will they be coming down as well??
Good price on flower – Purchased straight away.

Hey Mike,
I don’t suppose there’s any news on the PSP remakes of Final Fantasy I and II coming to PSN? With the iPhone versions (hopefully) being released soon, I’m wondering if it’s worth holding out for the PSP versions instead, as I’d rather play them on my PSP Go than my iPhone!
Thanks for any info – it’s always much appreciated.
