‘Heads-Up’ PlayStation Store Update (25th February 2010)

Hello all and welcome to another ‘Heads Up’ store update.

I’m afraid Mike can’t be with you this week as he’s having some much needed time off, but normal service will be resumed at the start of March.

In the meantime, if you loved last week’s update we’re continuing strong this week with the launch of the highly anticipated FIFA Ultimate Team 10, which sees you trading players and managing your chosen squad to victory on the pitch.

We’ve got W!Games‘ quirky, turn-based strategy, Greed Corp for you to enjoy and for all you demon slayers out there, a demo featuring one whole dungeon from Vigil Games‘ apocalyptic hack & slash, Darksiders.

Relentless bring us the latest episode of Blue Toad Murder Files, The Mystery of the Concealing Flame and better yet, it’s absolutely free (but you will need to own at least the first episode to play). If you’re still playing catch up in Little Riddle, there’s never been a better time to get involved.

As if that weren’t enough we’ve got new content for all our favourites, including a new styling pack for the BAFTA nominated EyePet and some old favourites return to Uncharted 2 via the new Drake’s Fortune Multiplayer pack, with skins and locations from Nathan Drake’s first adventure. White Knight Chronicles invades LittleBigPlanet in the form of a new costume kit and Borderlands turns things up to 11 with its third add-on, The Secret Armoury of General Knoxx, which brings new challenges and a newly raised level cap.

On the PSP front we’ve got a whole host of titles for you, including the launch of echoshift - the sequel to last year’s mind (and perspective) bending puzzle game, echochrome, and from tomorrow you’ll be able to go to hell without leaving the house, as we make the brand new PSP version of Dante’s Inferno available for download from the 26th.

That’s all for this week – I’ll do my best to field some of your comments but apologies if they’re not up to the high standard set by Mr. Kebby. I know he’ll be reading them with interest so please do make yourself heard.

Until next time guys, enjoy the update!

Darksiders demo!!!

YES:D

Wooo more Ferrari Challenge DLC :o

Any idea on Darksiders file size please?

    Ross McGrath 25 February, 2010 @ 12:43 pm

I’m afraid it’s fairly weighty because of the sheer size of the demo. Think Yakuza 3 demo size…

addyjones1234 25 February, 2010 @ 12:33 pm   3

Decent update there, gonna get uncharted dlc and maybe ultimate team after i play the demo

World’s End theme. Is that from Pirates of Caribbean?
And a free “casefile”.
And hope everythings ok with Mike.

are the blue toad murder files going to made available for Australia this week?

    Ross McGrath 25 February, 2010 @ 12:52 pm

    Hi shaunali,

My apologies, I’ve had a word with the guys and it seems like Episode 3 will not make it to Australia and New Zealand this week. Good news though, I’ve been told they’re working on it and you should see Blue Toad coming your way in the near future, so keep an eye out.

Ooh ooh, is it an early update today? I like the past couple of early updates. Since I’m out early at thursdays it’s nice to NOT have to wait ’till evening.

Pretty please :o O_O?

Valkyria Chronicles and Borderlands DLC \o/

When will we be getting Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions?

Nothing for me this week but HEAVY RAIN TOMORROW! As you can see I’m very exited! :)

    Ross McGrath 25 February, 2010 @ 12:41 pm

And you should be! It may not be for everyone but as far as story-telling goes it’s really a fantastic game. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

designheadache 25 February, 2010 @ 12:35 pm   10

I am curious how the Little Riddle EP3 content will work, is it marked as FREE on the store, but only activated if you already own the original? Or do we need to do something else other than download it?

Loads to play this week :-)

    Ross McGrath 25 February, 2010 @ 12:48 pm

It works as an add-on, just like Episode 2, so you’ll need Episode 1 or the Episodes 1 & 2 bundle if you want to play.

And Silent Hill shatered memories?

PrivateJoker360 25 February, 2010 @ 12:36 pm   12

Oustanding update this week. Greed Corp, Echoshift, Uncharted Map pack and Blue Toad for me. Just wish every week, there was this much content for me to spend my money on.

Please tell me the store will update early today, please, please pretty please.

Williams Pinball is a definate, and so is Dantes Inferno for the PSP I think

RadioactiveMouse 25 February, 2010 @ 12:36 pm   14

A nice full week’s update again. :)

Nice one guys and girls ;)

yay my U2 dlc is finally here \o/
and darksiders demo is nice too, been thinking about it for while.

Eye of Judgment PSP demo? Whoa!

xchris2008x 25 February, 2010 @ 12:37 pm   17

Dont we get the white knight chronicles Dynamic theme today? :(

AcidCrashX 25 February, 2010 @ 12:38 pm   18

Thanks for the update Ross, pass my regards on to Mike. I hope he gets back on his feet alright :)

Sweet update! When will it go live?

So looking forward to try the new maps for Uncharted 2!

Hello Mike,

I have the White Knight Chronicles USA version and playing with my europe account i cant see any items to buy in the Shop Online. Could you tell us (we are a ton of people with usa version thought, matter of time delay with the release date) if there is any solution to this? maybe you guys could put the content in the shop online some way?

thanks. please, answer.

electroshockwave 25 February, 2010 @ 12:39 pm   21

Hi Mike. I need to know if there’s any possibility of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Soul Reaver, Grandia, Dino Crisis, Resident Evil 2 & 3, R-Type Delta, or Suikoden coming to the PAL PSN anytime soon. I’ve bought a US PSN card and would hate to use it on any games that come out here anytime soon.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

So when’s the update due? I’m ready;-)

Oh, Williams Pinball Classics for PSP! Best update of this year!

quick easy question to answer – are any of the resident evils in the pipeline for release on psn. Dont want specifics, just a simple “they are on their way” will do.

Awesome. Echoshift, Dungeon Explorer, Valhalla Knights 2, as if I don’t have enough games to work through already!!

Keep up the good work on the PSP front guys.

Ross McGrath have you got a update on when thrillville: off the rails is comeing back?

No EyePet Avatars yet?!
And what about that God of War III trailer that was unveiled 2 weeks ago?

Seriously, I don’t see the reason why not upload it into the Store.

Spartan-spur 25 February, 2010 @ 12:41 pm   28

Very pleased with the eye of judgment demo, hopefully this means it’ll be on PSN for release day! It’s on most websites for £19.99 so I’m hoping to see a similar price on PSN. What were EA thinking with the Dantes Inferno price tag!

FIFA 10 UT is a must download for me too, loved last years version. Price looks a bit lower than last time too so I’m very happy. Good update guys :)

Williams Pinball Classics – WAHEY!!!! :D :D

That Kebby bloke has been holding this hostage for months. The new chap/ess comes along and its released straight away :)

Down with Kebby!! ;)
Give the new chap/ess a pay rise.

    Ross McGrath 25 February, 2010 @ 1:02 pm

Oh, you better hope Mike doesn’t see this. And now I’ve highlighted it. Looks like you’re in trouble!

moriarty1975 25 February, 2010 @ 12:42 pm   30

Maybe you can answer this for me mike – Will europe EVER get the v1.02 patch for echochrome???

Carnivius_Prime 25 February, 2010 @ 12:42 pm   31

Ah nice. Been tempted to get Darksiders as it’s quite cheap lately so this demo is perfect to help me decide.

I’m buying the Uncharted 2 DLC straight away. Skins and maps great plus but I want to get started on getting my trophy set back to 100 percent :P

Awesome!

Good update Ross, it’s nice of Mike not to leave you in the with a rubbish update while he’s not here to field the complaints!

Did he write that post or did you? If it was you then I see Mike has been training his colleagues well in the art of Heads Up blog updates!!! ;)

@ designheadache it will probably work as DLC content to the first episode – same way DLC works for retail games…

Top update yet again ;-) but why has darksiders come out so late? as i have completed the game (top game by the way) and i would of thought it would of been better to put the demo into the psn store before it was released, unless it’s not selling as well as they thought and want more sales which would make sense,i would tell anyone who likes hack and slash games to go get this as it’s well worth your money ;-) and thanks for the heads up on the store update.

Are you that dros1337(or something) guy from twitter?
Do you know how much GB that demo is?
When do you think the store will go live?

I’m really gonna play that Darksiders demo!

Wish Mr. Mike Kebby the best, oké?

I might get UC2 DLC.

I will get Borderlands DLC and maybe VC DLC.

I’ll try Darksider demo too lol.

Ragnarok-NZ 25 February, 2010 @ 12:44 pm   37

Mr.Mcgrath please pass my regards to Mr.Kebby.
Now is there any info regardiny Dissidia Final Fantasy, or Silent Hill Shattered Memories?
And when can we expect the store to update today?

    Ross McGrath 25 February, 2010 @ 1:09 pm

Mike will be reading your comments so I’m sure he’ll get the message. The update should be at a reasonable time today, it won’t be super early because of the amount of stuff to organise! As far as Dissidia goes, I know a lot of people are waiting on this – myself included – but sit tight and good things will come to you.

Ah, posted under your own name now.

Almost definitely a chap with a name like Ross. :)

Splutterbug 25 February, 2010 @ 12:45 pm   39

Darksiders demo looks interesting, word of mouth has really been growing for it calling it a cross between God of War and Legend of Zelda, and as a huge Zelda fan I’d love to give it a go :-)

cool avatar pic,. nothing for me this week but america gets grandia, any news if we will? cant wait for ff13 so im not too fussed if its gonna be awhile

RickyVeiga 25 February, 2010 @ 12:47 pm   41

Ferrari is not available in Italy!?

One word: LoL

Hey Kebby/McGrath, I just saw that the AU PlayStation site mentioning the Heavy Rain voucher problem. People aren’t getting the Soundtrack with the code:

http://au.playstation.com/games-media/news/articles/detail/item265939/Heavy-Rain™-Special-Edition/

Will something similar be done for European countries? (I’m interested in Sweden)

    Ross McGrath 25 February, 2010 @ 1:13 pm

This issue is being looked at by the boffins.

    Ross McGrath 25 February, 2010 @ 2:26 pm

Update on the Heavy Rain Soundtrack issue – keep your eye on the PlayStation blog and there’ll be an update about this soon.

I hope FF13 is epic, really want dissidia on psn though, i keep checking every week and getting let down /cry

steven_dutch 25 February, 2010 @ 12:49 pm   44

Hi Ross.
It might be a good idea to inform everyone via the blog about the Heavy Rain SE DLC issues.
http://community.eu.playstation.com/t5/Heavy-Rain/Heavy-Rain-Official-Soundtrack-DLC-Issues-UPDATED/m-p/10271241;jsessionid=8439CAFF5E0E75D398246247E9300F57

Lots of stuff and I just got Heavy Rain. One awesome week!

Ferrari Challenge DLC is a nice surprise considering the NFS Shift Ferrari pack doesn’t seem to be coming to PS3 :(.

U2 DLC all day long!!

kakadujoko 25 February, 2010 @ 12:50 pm   48

Wow so much tease, the wait until it’s live will probably exhaust me. xD
