Meanwhile back at the Digital Comics lair… This week we have 53 new comics for your reading pleasure. I’ll break down some of the highlights:
Go and get your Christmas tree back from the where you dumped it behind Tescos because 2000AD release their PROG 2010 Christmas Mega Special – all 100 pages of it!
“And there came a day, a day unlike any other, when Earth’s mightiest heroes and heroines found themselves united against a common threat. On that day, the Avengers were born — to fight the foes no single super hero could withstand!”
Pretend it’s the 60s and download the first ever 10 issues of Marvel’s The Avengers (1963)
IDW continue their awesome support for the service by releasing We Will Bury You a day after it was available in meat space. Not only that, but the comic features audio commentary from the creators Brea & Zane Grant. The 4 part series deals with a zombie infestation set in 1920s New York. You can read an interview with the creators here. Also from IDW we see a lot of new Transformers content including Transformers #1, and the last of the currently available Wormwoods L.

And where is the comic store for Norway? Can’t you just give us the same one as UK? we are not picky and don’t need any stinking translations.
or at least some way for my dummy UK account to gift buyings to my account?

Hi Shadowdragoon, I’m afraid we’ve no update to give as yet for any further countries. We are pushing our hardest to get the comics to you. (The gift buying hack sounds crafty – now we just need to get gifting supported by the store)

2000AD weekend confirmed!
Will be sitting down this weekend and reading through the 2010 special Prog followed by Prog #1666-1668 which I’ve been saving. Can’t wait to check it out.
Shall be grabbing Locke & Key and Wormwood as usual, though its sad to think that we won’t be seeing anymore Wormwood next week or for awhile until Ben Templesmith gets more written
Hopefully we get to see some more of his work on the store soon?
Normally not a zombie fan but I’ll have to check We Will Bury You #1 out as that seems a bit more interesting than the normal zombie stuff.
Oh and Burke & Hare chapter 3? Now that is a nice surprise! Wasn’t expecting the next chapters from Insomnia for a few more weeks at least.

Sounds like you’ve got a busy weekend ahead of you! Templesmith did the cover to We Will Bury You as well. Hopefully we’ll get some more of his content as it becomes available.

Hi Pete,
.
I’m would also like to be able to read these comics on my PS3.
Why not suggest they port the viewer/reader to the PS3 and add Motion Controller support for turning the pages
In all seriousness, my company would be more than happy to take the lead in porting the viewer to PS3. Who should I speak to about this possibility as there certainly seems to be a lot of interest for it.
Keep the comics coming!

Hi CartBlanche, thanks for your kind offer! However we do have the ability to do this in house
We are looking in to it, but there are a few business and technical hurdles. The more people that request a PS3 version, the better our case for supporting it! Keep the requests coming

CartBlanche, do you not think this not being on the PS3 is a delibrate way of selling more PSP’s? It is a popular service and is sure to increase sales as a very good feature on a great little system.
Another good update this week.
Sorry to be a pain but I was asked last week to try again this week… Ready? … Any news on the next episode of “The Warriors”?
Posted on 25 February, 2010 at 3:47 pm by Pete Stott
sorry mate, no news yet.

Bought first two comics from this service last week (Wallace and Gromit…2 of them!) and it’s awesome
Might have to try some more. Thanks for the update

great to see the new TF ongoing series made available, you really need to speak to idw about making the previous mini series, like infiltration and devastation available too as they lead into the all hail megatron and ongoing series storylines from what i understand.

if it will help, i’ll add my voice to the “please bring the comic viewer to ps3″ campaign
the comic store never dissapoints.
you’re gonna get an ego as big as starscream’s with all this praise.
ok, you got the 2000ad and transformers pics mixed up, there, that should keep you down to earth, and hopefully dissuade you from trying to take over the world
especially as that’s my job.

Not on the PS3? Thats a bad business model!
Won´t buy until you make that possible.

I’d love to be able to buy comics if there were a ps3 viewer, absolutely!

I’d be downloading comics every week if i could view them on my tv through my ps3 – this definately should be a priority for the next firmware update – after all, microtransactions like this is where it’s at
