‘Heads-Up’ PlayStation Store Update (25th February 2010)

EnglishSelect a Language:

Countries: , , , ,

Hello all and welcome to another ‘Heads Up’ store update.

I’m afraid Mike can’t be with you this week as he’s having some much needed time off, but normal service will be resumed at the start of March.

In the meantime, if you loved last week’s update we’re continuing strong this week with the launch of the highly anticipated FIFA Ultimate Team 10, which sees you trading players and managing your chosen squad to victory on the pitch.

We’ve got W!Games‘ quirky, turn-based strategy, Greed Corp for you to enjoy and for all you demon slayers out there, a demo featuring one whole dungeon from Vigil Games‘ apocalyptic hack & slash, Darksiders.

Relentless bring us the latest episode of Blue Toad Murder Files, The Mystery of the Concealing Flame and better yet, it’s absolutely free (but you will need to own at least the first episode to play). If you’re still playing catch up in Little Riddle, there’s never been a better time to get involved.

As if that weren’t enough we’ve got new content for all our favourites, including a new styling pack for the BAFTA nominated EyePet and some old favourites return to Uncharted 2 via the new Drake’s Fortune Multiplayer pack, with skins and locations from Nathan Drake’s first adventure. White Knight Chronicles invades LittleBigPlanet in the form of a new costume kit and Borderlands turns things up to 11 with its third add-on, The Secret Armoury of General Knoxx, which brings new challenges and a newly raised level cap.

On the PSP front we’ve got a whole host of titles for you, including the launch of echoshift - the sequel to last year’s mind (and perspective) bending puzzle game, echochrome, and from tomorrow you’ll be able to go to hell without leaving the house, as we make the brand new PSP version of Dante’s Inferno available for download from the 26th.

That’s all for this week – I’ll do my best to field some of your comments but apologies if they’re not up to the high standard set by Mr. Kebby. I know he’ll be reading them with interest so please do make yourself heard.

Until next time guys, enjoy the update!

Coming To PSN This Week: Echoshift

EnglishSelect a Language:

Countries: , , , ,

Hello, PlayStation Bloggers!!! we’re back to talk about the downloadable PSP game echoshift which is being released on the PlayStationNetwork store this Thursday 25th February and will also be available in stores this week. This innovative puzzle game will bring a fun and refreshing style of game play to PlayStationPortable fans of all ages.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the title already, echoshift is a spin-off of the PSN hit echochrome for PS3 and PSP, and shares a similar artistic design. It features a new challenge for gamers to learn how to interact with your past actions. The soundtrack to the original echochrome, which was sort of a modern take on classical music, was one of its strong points, and echoshift is no different with an all-new soundtrack composed by a new group of musicians that elegantly sets the pace for the unique game play.

The game is based on solving the puzzles and obstacles in each level to reach the exit, but within a short or limited amount of time. Luckily the game records an “echo” of your actions, which replays itself when time runs out so you can then try again from the beginning alongside all of your previous echoes. So basically you are cooperating with all of the echoes and actions you just did to complete challenges you couldn’t in a single run-through! Check out this trailer to see echoshift in action:

This creative approach to solving puzzles is easy to learn, but harder to master, with over 30 different kinds of puzzles to wrap your brain around. You’ll have to quickly plan your actions and echoes in order to beat all 56 levels. The game also comes with three different game modes for each level, which will challenge you to find new ways to solve puzzles faster than you have before. Buyers can take all of this content on the go with them for just €16.99 (PSN) or €19.99 UMD starting this Thursday!

Whether you’re looking for a quick portable puzzle fix, or hours of mind-bending puzzle madness, I hope everyone enjoys echoshift. Stay tuned for future updates!
