Hi guys,
We have a massive PlayStation Home update for you tomorrow, including the implementation of the Home 1.35 client, release of the Final Fantasy XIII personal space and a brand-new selection of Ratchet & Clank and SOCOM items.
First up, we have the highly anticipated 1.35 client update. We’ve been listening to your concerns on the EU blog and forums and can confirm that this update will bring with it a much slicker (and indeed faster) Home experience for all users. Not only improving performance, 1.35 will also make it easier to find friends as well as provide a quicker / simpler means to explore Home.
Therefore, the World Map has now been replaced by the brand-new Navigator interface (see the screenshots below). Navigator will help you explore Home quickly and simply – allowing you to hook up with your PSN Friends at the touch of a button as well as check out “Featured Spaces” and new releases.
But that’s not all, as announced on the EU Blog yesterday, the Final Fantasy Eden personal space will be available to all users via Home Estates in the Shopping Centre tomorrow. This new personal space is retailing at £3.99 (4.99 euro) and will release with a selection of Final Fantasy XIII furniture to customize your ideal space.
Next up, we have a brand new selection of Ratchet & Clank figurines and ornaments available via both the commerce point in the Gadgetron HQ and Shopping Centre spaces. Check out the screenshot below of these funky new items:
Grab yourself a Dr. Nefarious, Ratchet, Clank, Clunk, Lawrence, Courtney or Gleeman figurine (there are plenty more to choose from too!) or maybe a RYNO V or Groovitron Glove ornament for your Harbour Studio.
If you’re looking for some more threads, why not check out the selection of SOCOM Snow Camo items launching for both male and female avatars tomorrow. These will be available in the Threads section of the Shopping Centre and retailing at 0.99 euros per section.
Finally, Sodium will receive an update tomorrow which brings with it two new weapons including the Long Range Plasma Emitter – which will help to achieve those much needed high scores – and the Multi Shot Grenade Launcher which has a much higher scatter area (and massive fun potential!).
That’s it for now. Be sure to log into Home tomorrow to check out the slicker, faster new interface and brand new content on offer

Maybe you can put a photo booth machine in the mall, then you can go inside and take, preview and select pictures for your PSN card.

Looks like there’s a lot of work being put into home. That’s nice to see.

Oh My God, I’ve never saw something like that! Whaaaaaho! Good Job!
Also something you (may) haven’t noticed, when i (and many others) press the [Message Box] Button on the Keypad doesn’t redirect you to the Message Box.

This looks like a really nice update but the one complaint I have are the default avatars; right now the ones we have just look plain wierd. We need a larger selection of more realistic default avatars because I feel putting the effort in to customise a better one can be too much like hard work right now.

#59 Public voice chat was awful. Don’t bring it back. Don’t need to be deafened by the childish idiots swearing and shouting like last time and if it’s not them it’s too much foreign languages I can’t understand anyways so I don’t want to hear it.
Anyways the update looks nice. Better organised menu thing anyways and the Ratchet figures look great.

Give us the FFXIII space for free (as it was in Japan) when sales slow down though, eh?

wow.. very impressed with the new loading times. going back and forth through spaces doesn’t feel too much like a chore anymore and the interface really does feel more natural giving it’s a lot like the xmb.

I don’t understand why Home still hasn’t made use of the fact that it’s a virtual space… Defy Reality! Hoverboards, dragons, magnetic boots etc… seriously though, I still don’t quite see the point in Home, especially since so much of it costs money, and it is just too plain and boring (clothing for avatar)
Lots more free stuff and lots more interactive things.

loading spaces is quick,as is seeing clothes content.
I think the queue system broke,I tried pool,it put everyone in a queue yet nobody was playing.lol I couldn’t get on pool before because it was full, now I can’t get on because nobody is playing.
I’ll load another arcade space and see if it’s wide spread issue

This sounds like a really good update. Sadly my PS3 has recently been infected with the Yellow Light of Death so for now I won’t be able to experience the new features until I can afford a new console which will hopefully be next month.
I’d really like to be able to listen to my own music in Home from the XMB menu. I hope this comes in a future update.

Is there any official feedback channel for Home besides this blog or forums?
This core update was pretty decent, but I still see tons of “core” lacks for a social app like Home, and I’m not talking about enhancing features, just basic design. Too many to write a post here.

How about some more nice clothes for the girls in Home. Some nice strappy high heels, and sexy dresses would be good. Let us show our girly avatars off to the best effect. Bye the way. Much better since the last update.
