‘Heads-Up’ PlayStation Store Update (18th March 2010)

Hello, hello.

It feels like it’s been ages since I was last on here. How you all doing? I’m back, my feet are under the table again, and I’m dug in for the long haul. It feels good to be here again :)

We have a new batch of special offers available this week, with the mini title Yummy Yummy Cooking Jam joining the fun. This is the first mini title joining the special offers section, and marks the first of many that will be making an appearance over the coming weeks and months.

As mentioned earlier in the week on the blog, Wakeboarding HD is released and will provide some awesome fun for you. Also released this week is the massive expansion pack for Dragon Age: Origins, Awakening. This pack adds about 25 hours of story related missions, as well as new characters and skills.

Finally, as also mentioned on the blog earlier this week, Patchwork Heroes is released for the PSP, and again looks like it’s going to provide hours of fun.

As usual, I’ll be around all day checking out your comments, so I’ll probably catch you around.

Cheers all, have a good week!

First, yay! :P

Yeah!

Littlebigplanet extra content for PSP! YEAH!

aw, well thats kinda annoying. I was expecting the pre-order for Sam and Max: The Devil’s Playhouse to be up today. Any news for this salivating adventure game player? pretty please?

Wow! What a massive update for psp!!
Thanks, but now I have more games that I can play.

sephiroth180 18 March, 2010 @ 12:03 pm   6

Dragon AGe: Awakening is the winner here ;)

Any idea when we can expect Heavy Rain DLC to arrive? Not all of us managed to get the special edition :(

Suzzopher 18 March, 2010 @ 12:04 pm   8

Going to download Patchwork Heroes and Crush for my PSP Go.

Nice price for Patchwork Heroes! Sold.

Suzzopher 18 March, 2010 @ 12:04 pm   10

Oh and Mike are we getting the White Knight Chronicles quests and Dynamic theme that the Americans have?

    Mike Kebby 18 March, 2010 @ 12:06 pm

I’m trying to find out about this, if I can find anything out, and say so, I will do ;)

pawelgr5 18 March, 2010 @ 12:05 pm   11

To be honest I am too busy playing GoW3 to download anything but update seems to be ok. Dragon Age Awakening is finally here so I will check it once GoW3 is finished :P

Great update this week. Nothing much that tickles my fancy though ;)

Have you any idea when Monkey Island 1 will appear on the store? I can’t wait to play it.

slickjones 18 March, 2010 @ 12:05 pm   14

Word on the streets is, Shatter actually has a demo. I can’t find it anywhere though, is there anyone that can help?

Miiiiike – glad you’re alright!

Any chance of getting some God of War III premium avatars anytime soon? :(

My UTE is coming through tomorrow!

    Mike Kebby 18 March, 2010 @ 12:08 pm

I’m fine thanks. I was away last week because I was trying to do some good work for the store, hopefully things will come to fruition in the future ;)

Shadowdragoon 18 March, 2010 @ 12:06 pm   16

Hmm, any news on some kind of gifting option? crossregion able one? please say one is in the works.

AcidCrashX 18 March, 2010 @ 12:06 pm   17

woot lady gaga tracks XD I’m totally buying that.

Woah.. 31 for the Dragon Age expansion….? Mike are they releasing that on disc or is it download only for EU?

Have a good day mate :)

CodeMonkey_UK 18 March, 2010 @ 12:07 pm   18

Little dissapointing this week, but plenty of other games to catch up on myself.

Both questions i need answers to have already been asked, but i’ll ask them again.

1. What’s happening with Sam and Max preorder? Been waiting for so long for Telltale to release stuff on PSN!

2. When can i get my hands on more Heavy Rain via DLC? Just finished second play through and need more!

    Mike Kebby 18 March, 2010 @ 12:12 pm

    Hey CodeMonkey_UK,

We don’t do pre-orders via the PSN Store I’m afraid.

As for your second question, information will come on the blog at some point.

FallingStickman 18 March, 2010 @ 12:08 pm   19

Nice update and I’ll be picking up the Dragon Age expansion even though it’s really, really expensive.

the dragon age expansion is download only for ps3 in EU AcidCrashX

Devilater 18 March, 2010 @ 12:09 pm   21

Why can’t i buy Dragon Age Awakening on disc?

I’m not downloang a big expansion.

MistakenBeauty 18 March, 2010 @ 12:09 pm   22

Why is Awakening uber expensive compared to the other platforms?

Darkscorpius 18 March, 2010 @ 12:09 pm   23

welcome back Mike, think I’ll be picking up DA:O – Awakening today. Judging by it’s price I’m assuming it has almost the same amount of content as the DA or at least I hope so. Have you any idea how big it is Mike?

wauw this update sucks can’t say i am fully suprised with the stuff we kept getting over the last 3 years you kinda start 2 expect these kinda lame updates

SlapnutzUK 18 March, 2010 @ 12:10 pm   25

Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening Expansion (£31.99/€39.99)

Pricing Error?

If it’s an expansion surely it can’t cost the same as the full game?

    Mike Kebby 18 March, 2010 @ 12:13 pm

Believe me, I checked, and double checked the pricing, and it was confirmed to me this was correct.

nice update! any more news on Castle Crashers PSN?

Thanks to SCEE’s stupid no-DLC-disc policy, we HAVE to pay €40 for the Awakening expansion. Other (disc-based) versions of the expansion can be found as low as €25.

Thanks SCEE!

vicheous 18 March, 2010 @ 12:11 pm   28

Not much for me this week! Maybe Shift DLC and some Movies…

Oh and Dragon Age DLC ;-)

Amherst_Wind_4 18 March, 2010 @ 12:11 pm   29

Whos this? Wheres that Russ fella that always does our store update?

Also, when I noticed you got first Mike, I burst out laughing! XD

    Mike Kebby 18 March, 2010 @ 12:19 pm

Hey now, Ross has only done two updates, I’m the original and don’t forget it ;) I’ll have to get him scrubbing my desk clean to ensure he doesn’t get too big for his boots :P

wiiman07 18 March, 2010 @ 12:12 pm   30

What a joke Mike that some PSP games are not available in Australia now why would I go out and buy one if I don’t get games for it? The Heavy Rain Premium Theme is that the same one that came out with the game?

    Mike Kebby 18 March, 2010 @ 12:19 pm

I’m afraid we cannot mandate publishers to release in ALL locales, I wish we could, but it doesn’t work that way : It frustrates me too, believe me.

StefNighthawk 18 March, 2010 @ 12:12 pm   31

Good for seeing a lot of “availability: all locales” in the PS3 section. Shame same can’t be said about the PSP section.

Any news about Half Minute Hero being released outside UK, preferably Belgium?

DBarciela 18 March, 2010 @ 12:12 pm   32

Thanks for the great work Mike keeping us updated, but… What happened??? No downloadable games for Portugal???? Very disappointing news =\

vicheous 18 March, 2010 @ 12:14 pm   33

I could not care less about the Dragon Age DLC not being on disc..
If it was up to me, i would have EVERYTHING on HDD. Even download full Blu-ray games..

Why can’t we have a “Install game” Option in all Blu-Ray games??

BrutalGreenEnvy 18 March, 2010 @ 12:14 pm   34

The joys of wanting to play DA on this console rather than another I guess, even got screwed over with having to wait longer than everyone else for the 1st DLC >.<

Lot’s of no love for the PSP outside the UK.

Makes me sad…

Orangeno 18 March, 2010 @ 12:14 pm   36

If i had the games, i would buy the DLC. Sorry nothing for me this week.

Next week a heavy rain update (dlc)?

Nowt’ on the store for me this week. :(
Roll on May when they’ll delay the release of Williams Pinball again.

Are you and Ross playing “good cop, bad cop” with us now? ;)

Retro_1973 18 March, 2010 @ 12:14 pm   38

Heavy Rain™ Mars Dynamic Theme? Does that mean we will be seeing a Madison Paige Dynamic Theme soon? :)

halljames 18 March, 2010 @ 12:15 pm   39

I shall be getting Patchwork Heroes, but oh my god, Lego Batman, I think I have just wet my pants.

Oh yes, hot dang!!!!

Mr. Kebby, welcome back. We’ve missed you.
(dodges bullet)

no explanation for why scee chose to limit the expansion pack for dragon age to download or disc but not both, while everybody else, including scea, let bioware provide a choice?
you can tell ea and bioware scee have lost them a number of sales.

does the dynamic theme have a preview?

Mike Kebby 18 March, 2010 @ 12:16 pm   42

Just an update regarding Half-Minute Hero:

This game will be released today to the following locales;
Australia
Czech Republic
Denmark
Finland
Greece
Ireland
New Zealand
Norway
Poland
Saudi Arabia
South Africa
Sweden
UAE

Cheers!

If a demo of Wakeboarding HD comes along I might give it a go, unless anyone else is going to get it and cares to share their opinions?

when is sony planning on announcing psp2 with UMD support cause the psp-go is utter crap haven’t played one game on it cause no good psp games are getting released we got games that were date at the release at the first psp in other words crap

FallingStickman 18 March, 2010 @ 12:17 pm   45

A question. I’m going to buy the DA expansion from the Polish store, but I have the original game in English. Will the expansion also be in English like the previous DLC or will I get a Polish version?

ShogunDarius 18 March, 2010 @ 12:17 pm   46

holy moly the price on the expansion pack is stupid. No expansion pack it worth £32, i was interested you can count me out now.

jmw_boyz 18 March, 2010 @ 12:18 pm   47

Can you give an exact date for FirstPlay?

Patchwork heroes for under £7? SOLD! Slowly the PSP back library grow, but grow it does!

SlapnutzUK 18 March, 2010 @ 12:18 pm   49

The Dragon Age DLC is £27.20 on XBOX LIVE.

If it isn’t your decision why is the price different?

Can you confirm who did so I can complain to them?

    Mike Kebby 18 March, 2010 @ 12:23 pm

The pricing comes from EA, I did query this with them to ensure it was correct.

Devilater 18 March, 2010 @ 12:19 pm   50

No, i’m not buying the downloadable, if GTA IV Episodes from Liberty City is on disc so should Dragon Age: Awakening, i’m not spening that much on it either and if i didn’t like it i can’t sell it.

If it was rent then i would rent it from PSN but PSN doesn’t let you rent games on PSN.
