UPDATE: I’ve received news this morning that the Ghostbusters Firehouse personal space will not be released this week as previously announced. We will now be releasing this space in the April 15th update. We apologise for the delay.
This week’s PlayStationHome update is full of content that we know has been eagerly awaited by you all. We’ll start with the first batch of content from LucasArts, follow with an invasion of Knights from Monty Python, then visit the Ghostbusters Firehouse personal space. Last – but not least – we tour the SIREN: Blood Curse space.
I’m sure you’re all excited to know the full details of the Star Wars content we’ll have this week, so I’ll start there. In addition to a selection of t-shirts and caps, you’ll be treated to full costumes for the Stormtrooper, Clone Trooper and Imperial Officer. For your personal space there’s three impressive statues. Finally, for those of you who feel the Force there’s the Black Lightsaber. This is the first batch of many, so keep your eyes on the blog over the coming months for more fantastic content from LucasArts!
Next in this week’s line up are some iconic costumes from Monty Python. I have to mention what is probably my favourite costume in Home first: The Black Knight, complete with missing arms! You can also purchase Sir Bedevere, Sir Galahad, Sir Lancelot and Sir Robin either individually or all four in a bundle pack. The final item in our Monty Python haul is an unusual item of furniture: the iconic Foot. Even better, it’s a chair!
We know you’ve been waiting for the Ghostbusters Firehouse personal ever since it released for North America, and we’re pleased to announce it’s here! This space consists of three floors packed full of furniture and decorations, not least of which is your very own Ecto-1. The Ghostbusters Firehouse comes complete with movie props and portable blue screens that will be perfect for creating your own machinima movies. Just make sure you have your eyes open in case of any supernatural activity!
I’m very pleased to announce that SIREN: Blood Curse will be launching in Europe! Now you can all stop asking me when it will come out
. When you first step into this space you’ll find yourself in a rundown forest outside the entrance to the Ward of Despair. Step through the entrance to the Ward and you’ll enter the mini-game lobby. Here you’ll find video screens and places to sit while preparing to take on the Ward of Despair mini-game. When ready, talk to the receptionist and you’ll be taken into the Ward (Note: if you’re on a slow connection you may need to wait for the background download, which starts on entry to the lobby, to complete).
The Ward of Despair is playable by up to 5 players and is a recreation of the Saiga Hospital stage. Each player will be given a set of objectives that must be completed within a 5 minute time limit. Beware of the Shibito; get caught by one, and it will be game over! Complete all objectives within the time limit to earn yourself costume rewards.
Finally for this week, we’ve got good news on the Alien vs Predator costumes: we’ve been given permission to extend the time they’ll be available for. So if you haven’t got yours yet, rest easy – there’s still plenty of time to get over to Threads.

“Like GeoHot said…What security issue? The supposed hack that has been mentioned was only possible by OPENING the system, now I don’t know about you guys, but my PS3 is already secure”
Ah, so your going to actually believe anything this Geohot says, seriously? The guy is partly responsible for the hack of the iPhone which has led to piracy. He is a shameless hypocrite who is only in it for the fame and you’re defending him; since when did he earn a free pass? I could not care less about how talented he is, he’s damaging legitimate businesses. He’s been threatening to hack the PS3 AND posting his progress on the internet for quite some time now. You think Sony were going to sit by and do nothing?
You know, I have sympathy towards people affected by this Firmware, it sucks big time, but my sympathy is quickly ebbing away with all the ranting, moaning and spamming of non-firmware related articles.
If you have an issue with Sony, take it to the relevant authorities. Impotently ranting on an Official Sony advertising blog will not change ANYTHING.

I know this isn’t really related to the topic, but I have previously installed Linux on my PS3, it was horribly slow, so i’m not fussed over losing it. I would rather stop any potential piracy before it occurs, as others have said.
The way I personally look at this, if a developer sees 2 systems which suffer from software piracy and a system that doesn’t…surely any software company is more encouraged to design software for the non pirated system…it benefits the software developers and it benefits the end user with better games. (possibly designing only on PS3 and porting to others…surely the way we want it).
Every new game seems to be getting better and better anyway. Bring on the games!. Rant over.

what about the killzone helgast helmet, boots issue? we are tired of the excuses. we were told it was sorted a couple months ago on here let alone the home forum. THIS IS A PAID FOR ITEM EITHER FIX IT OR REFUND US, this issue has been going on since july 2009. quite frankly its pathetic. you even has the cheek to release a radec costume recently before fixing the other issue.

Hey, Alex – I enjoyed reading your entertaining post, and you seem like a chatty blogger. Tell me, have your colleagues over at PR forgotten how to type? They don’t seem to be quite so chatty!
This thread has 53 Posts and 8 replies, but Charlotte Panther can’t seem to manage one solitary reply over at the 3.21 Firmware update thread. Has she been unwell? Have you seen her around the office? If you do happen to bump into her, perhaps you could mention that there are one or two people with a couple of issues they would like her to clear up! The current lack of clarity is somewhat forcing them to post on threads that have more of a “two-way” feel about them, like this one. This doesn’t really help anyone.
Anyway, thanks – the update to Home looks like fun! Pity I can’t use it without Sony stealing my functionality!
