Hey PlayStation faithful! I’m returning to my favorite spot on the internets. With all these new announcements, I just can’t help myself.
This time, I’m very proud to announce our latest PlayStation Mini, Freekscape: Escape From Hell. The game will be available this Thursday, April 8 in Europe for €4.99 (and in North America for $4.99)
Developed by our good friends Kidguru Studios in Brazil, Freekscape: Escape From Hell introduces Freek, a cute little demon who has discovered a magic trident. Inspired by the trident’s powers, Freek becomes determined to ascend out of the Netherworld and into Heaven. But, of course, he needs your help.
Freek encounters a variety of unusual creatures in his fire-laden underground world. His new-found trident allows him to capture those crazy crawlers and turn them into different tools, depending on their abilities. For example, while an elastic-bed-like monster transforms the trident into a pogo stick, a sharp toothed goblin turns it into a cutting machine.
Freekscape: Escape From Hell is a full 3D, side-scrolling platformer created for the PlayStation Mini platform. So, why is this cool? Because you can play it on your PlayStation 3 *and* you can play it on your PSP! One game, two machines… get it? Play on the couch at home, and then take it in the car. You never have to be without your trusted demon buddy, Freek!
We’re very excited about launching another PlayStation Mini, and we couldn’t keep doing what we love without you. From everyone at Creat Studios and Kidguru Studios, thank you for your support and please keep the comments coming.

Hi Scott, I think there must have been a typo in the pricing info as €4.99 is actually $6.74, or maybe the Europe edition has 35% extra content?
The game looks ace but if it wasn’t a typo then – PRICING FAIL ALERT!

@DANNY3194 based on the formula €4.99 = $4.99, then I would say £4.99

they need the 30% price increase to cover their marketing share..
since promisses are mostlikely to become Pro_misses

This game looks great. Generally for small games like these a difference in price between EU and US is pretty silly to notice when the price for the game itself is so low. Especially if a game has quality (which it looks like this one does) then whatever the price, it is a definite buy for these mini titles.

if i buy it using the US-price, i still could be able to buy freaking 2 set of Mcbitterballen.
thank god still entropay works…
btw when does the EU get the videostore/comicstore?
Q4 of the financial year 2009 is ended for sony
and 3.21 didn’t bring any upgrades.
or do we have to wait till the E3 to get another Pro-miss
btw can Phil harrison please come back,he liked the EU-region more

@ #3, unfortunately it’s just the typical way Creat price their games these days (i.e. ridiculously unfair). It’s a shame but its the reason I don’t buy from them any more. The Wakeboarding game looks good fun, but again $15=/=€15.
Creat, please be more considerate with your pricing for your next game please!

Well I think for a low priced mini, this looks like it could be one of the best mini’s so far. Looks very good, and a definitate purchase for me on Thursday.

OK, I have just one question, and it might seem like a bit of an odd one, but based on Creat’s last 2 PSP mini games I have to ask.
Will you be able to save your game this time?

I was really looking forward to playing Freekscape but now that seems I will not be buying it. I am sorry to say, but because of this incredibly unfair pricing system I refuse to purchase this title or any other Creat title. Sorry guys, but that’s just not fair to us in the UK. And Mushroom Wars? 8 pounds in the UK and on sale for $5 in the US? How do you expect people to actually pay for that?
I’m sorry, but I just cannot sponsor unfair treatment, even though I love your games. I know that we vote with our wallets, so I choose to vote by not buying it until you sort out your pricing system.
It’s almost as unfair as Activision setting a RRP of 54.99 for MW2 in the UK, when all the other games retail for 39.99-44.99. Yeah, nobody sold it at that price anyway — because you just don’t do that.
