Hey Nathan, I just bought the 90 day subscription, but today’s episode is not showing up in my download list. I don’t know what to do so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Not willing to spit on the guys behind FirstPlay, but this is essentially the European (well, UK) version of Qore, and as such it’s not going to be terribly exciting nor groundbreaking. US criticism is strong on the lightweight content of Qore, and I fail to see how FirstPlay is going to be any better.

Also, is there to be any advertisement in FirstPlay? Qore is choke full of them, which is unacceptable considering it’s already a paid-for service.

I understand why you’re having trouble getting the video store and such to other countries, but this should be available to the rest of europe. What exactly is it that’s stopping you from doing that?, with the video store I know it’s about distributers and release dates and such. (region codes to control content, release date, and price, my god I hate it)

My question, what does “later” really mean in bringing this experience to other countryies?

VidZone was promised to us later and it was almost a year without even a hint to when and if at all we can expect this service. The same with comics.

So what’s the main catch in releasing First Play in other countries?

I just bought the 3 month subscription and I noticed that the PlayStation Store allows me to buy another. I was wondering what happens if you buy another while you’re already subscribed. Does it overlap, effectively wasting the extra time, or does the second subscription start after the first has finished?

Wow! What a surprise. Yet another pay for feature.
Sony this desperate revenue seeking is getting tiresome and annoying and by now is totally transparent for all to see.
Please compensate us properly for the removal of an advertised and major feature.

typical – and off course the UK-users can’t see anything wrong with them getting everything – and the rest of europe is left out. Come on… share… wake up and support your community SCEE!! or it will slowly pass away for Live, or other services, …

“ehm.. nooo.. we’ve got legal stuff to attend to, before we can roll out the video store and FirstPlay”.. ehm.. so did Microsoft.. and loads of other on-demand services.. they however seemed to suffice with the target off getting everybody in the services… and not just sucking up within own borders….

use the .eu or go with a co.uk, and signal that you don’t really care about scandinavia and the rest of europe… at least admit to it… instead of wrapping it in some “then we can reach everybody”… right you are guys and gals… on telling us what you get, and we don’t….. thats really nice of you..

pip pip, hiphooray for yet another letdown of a service that looked to be something good, but ended up being excliusive .. no matter what promises of “future looking into widend the avaiabillity”… cause.. thats also what will happend with the video store right.. in what.. 2015?

This sounds very interesting and I don’t mind having a show on PSN when the price is as low as it is.
But why is UK always getting everything first? Is there a particular reason UK gets a prior on most things regarding PSN?

i’ve subscribed, downloaded and the first episode is good. I have a feeling this will only get better with time too – once the 1st party content gets involved it’ll fly.

I can attest to 122′s post RE: the Facebook group. They ARE a bunch of savages over there. I was posting for about 2 months or so and I had a few disagreements with some of the reviews.

I must have been out of my mind to think I could have an opinion over there as I was dashed all over the wall like a cat in a dustbin bag.

Once you go against the grain there is no way back either. I sent a message to one of the admins on there. Liam, I think his name was. I simply explained my views. I wasn’t derrogatory and I wasn’t abusive. Next day I was banned from the group and roughly a week after that I had my FB account disabled.

When I emailed a buddy at FB I was told someone on the OPSMUK group had made a complaint.

So yeah. Savages. Swear off their group, their magazine and this new chance to peddle cash from us, as far as I’m concerned. I’d rather donate 99p a week to a charity than line their pockets.

any chance of cutting file size down , 1 .2gb is huge for people who want to keep on hdd , put me off buyn

the future.. that could be be in a second or in 30 years, doesn’t make a difference since it isn’t fair anyway.

Im sorry, Im just going to come on in here and say how much I love this. I got the beta, and liked the idea. So only bought the one episode this week and after loving that I can seriously see me paying for the subscription fee. And yes,I do take an evil pleasure in knowing its only for the UK, Which, seriously, i can see as unfair!

I’ve subscribed and watched the first episode. Fantastic stuff. I look forward to more exclusive downloads in the future but the reviews, previews, screenshots with commenting and other videos are all very well done. Reminds me of some of the gaming programs I’d watch on Bravo as a kid. The adverts are well done too. Not long enough to be annoying.

As for ‘FirstPlay’ these guys ( and I’m sure girls ) have taken their time to make some finely crafted reviews that you’d normally either read online by amatuers, or pay £4+ for a magazine once a month!
If it’s not your thing then fine, be shushed and go back to your interweb productions!

I’ll be subscribing as I’m one of those people who pay £4+ a month to read a mag lol so £9 for 3 months to WATCH the review I’d READ a month later ,,, no brained really!

Who’s in charge of getting FirstPlay out to other countries? Is it the OPM team?

First play is good idea. now i am thinking why couldn’t sony do the same thing but with films and music. Foe films how about “Film first” weekly stuff on movie/cartoon/tv series reviews, trailers, seek peeks, behind the scenes the whole shabang.

Bought the subscription and I kind of wish I hadn’t. The video quality is inconsistent, the content is out of date, and I don’t really appreciate having to sit through an advertisment EVERY TIME I CHOOSE A DIFFERENT ITEM.

Just watched first episode, well worth the (hardly bank breaking) 99p IMO. The content is slightly old but as long as future episodes have up to date stuff then I don’t really care.

Always loved OPM so will hopefully like FirstPlay.

I like the magazine and I enjoyed the first episode of FirstPlay. I would prefer to be able to skip the adverts sooner but never mind. The format and interface are very nicely done and the HD videos and screenshots are great. I also like the fact that it’s a rolling three month subscription rather than a yearly one.

bought the 90 90 day subscription last week for this. I think that this is going to be a good addition to the store personally. One other thong that I bought this for is that I no longer buy any of the mags so will be nice to see and hear reports on the new games.
