I’ll start out today by confirming that the Ghostbusters Firehouse personal space, which we previously announced two weeks ago, will be releasing this week. In addition to the Firehouse, we’ll also have some Ghostbusters items in the store to help you get started decorating and movie-making. Here’s the rundown on the space from the 31st March blog post:
This space consists of three floors packed full of furniture and decorations, not least of which is your very own Ecto-1. The Ghostbusters Firehouse comes complete with movie props and portable blue screens that will be perfect for creating your own machinima movies. Just make sure you have your eyes open in case of any supernatural activity
So now onto the content for Thursday’s update that you aren’t aware of yet! Top of the list is the Neptune Suite personal space. Situated deep under water, this space comes complete with the multiplayer Blast Zone mini-game, and the rather puzzling Scramble. You’ll find the Neptune Suite in the new “plus” section of Home Estates, which indicates personal spaces with additional functionality. We’re also releasing a collection of things to wear on your head, such as horns and elfin ears.
Check out the Furniture store this week for our second release of Alien vs Predator content. This week we’ve got three pictures that can be hung in your personal space, along with the amazing face hugger display unit. Remember: the Alien vs Predator content will only be purchasable for a limited time!
This week will also see the release of the SOCOM OPFOR game space. Here you’ll be presented with a mini-game to assemble an assault weapon, with a special reward waiting for the most skilled players. Those who can successfully complete the assembly in under 12 seconds will receive an exclusive fully-playable Golden AK-47 for use in SOCOM: Confrontation. The space also features a highly addictive 5-Finger Fillet mini-game and leaderboards.
Finally, visit the Resident Evil space this week where we’ve got 22 new shirts available, spread evenly between male and female.

Will any of the personal space items be out for Neptune this week Thy? The space as loads designed for it, going up todate the personal space tours with it, but will miss out the items for it if not due.
Posted on 14 April, 2010 at 5:25 pm by Alex Weekes
We have a small amount of Neptune-related items this week, and I believe we have more in the schedule.

Alex you said a when the Namco Essentials hitted the store it brung SCEE closer to publishing it, why isn’t SCEE publishing it?
Posted on 14 April, 2010 at 5:27 pm by Alex Weekes
As I said earlier, I don’t have any information I can share on the space at the moment. The decision to release this space for SCEE needs to be taken by more than just the team here, as the content is owned by Namco.

Posted on 14 April, 2010 at 5:20 pm by Carla_Birch
@11 It was said that Namco was working on a updated space so SCEE was waiting for that to save getting a old space ready when a new one is due.

I’m sorry i’m not really impress with this update, sure new stuff & 1 old as new that got delayed.
it been 2 weeks since NAMCO museum essential was release in our store. & a commet “a big step closer” is SCEE haveing problems with that.

hi Alex,
Home needs more updates with substance not just a deluge of cosmetic additions. I don’t think ayone could argue that the content hasn’t been of a higher quality & certainly more frequent of late, but considering the disparity between the model which was first touted by Phil Harrison and what we have in actuality today, Home isn’t delivering.
Good looking avatars & spaces are all well & good but realistically quite superficial. Is there any substantial updates due which are designed to enhance user’s experience in a major way?
- VOIP in all spaces
- Media streaming functions between users. TV’s, music systems & picture frames in personal spaces.
I understand the complex legal issues surrounding some of these additions but are they actually still being considered, or have they now been abandoned from the future Home model?

Lucasarts is the company that make the monkey island content, their american, so SCEE has to talk to them to get their content onto europe home i.e. monkey island, star wars, indiana jones etc, they also had to talk to SCEA to get the neptune personal space, they will have to do the same for the waterfall terrace as well, so SCEE has to talk to these companies to get this stuff onto europe home

@Seany1
Has Home slept with your girlfriend or something? Because all of your comments on this blog are either bashing Home, or saying that the American Home gets whatever first.
For a kickoff, the NA region consists of 3 countries. Secondly, all the major gaming press is based in the USA. Thirdly, correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the USA the most powerful (and richest) country in the world?.
The EU region is not as badly done by as the rest of the world. So much so, that we have the second highest number of public spaces, and two unique ones in Audi and Game. The second highest number of personal spaces, again with some of our own unique ones.
Also, did I mention you can potentially meet the Iron Man director? Or you could’ve met Dizzee Rascal/Sterophonics. That sort of thing doesn’t happen too often in real life, let alone in a virtual world.
No, you’re right, EU is stitched up by the world at large. Our Home is obviously a waste of time.
I don’t like starting flame wars, so I’ll end right there. And no, I don’t have the Sony TOS stamped on my forehead. I just happen to be a realist. I don’t expect the world to cater to my every whim.

Posted on 14 April, 2010 at 8:45 pm by SpyDudeFX
Europe has a great Home, The Game and Audio are two very good exclusive spaces. I wish we had a car maker and games retailer interested in our region of Home. So I was wondering if FF13 costumes are hitting EU tomorrow?
44
Posted on 14 April, 2010 at 8:57 pm by Sir_Gunnalot
Oh no, we don’t get redeem stations or Listen@Home, or a twitter feed! It’s a travesty! /sarcasm
I hate to break it to you, but neither do Asia or Japan. It should surely be understandable why the USA gets treated the best.
Should I mention that if you don’t want to get your comments deleted, or you don’t want to be banned from the forums, then why doesn’t anybody try speaking in a decent or positive manner? It’s also the easiest and best way of getting a response from Sony. I work in retail, so I get a massive number of customer complaints every day, and about anything it’s possible to even think of.
The majority of people who get banned are the people who flame others for no real reason other than they think said person did them wrong. I know exactly what goes on in the forums. Which is why I no longer visit them, and neither do the large numbers that used to.

gunnalot lets be honest m8 right cards on table , would you not like to be able to boot up ps3 then log right into home knowing you would have redeem stations , live psn news feed and a gd music area all in there coz i tell you i would love that and im sure loads would too as i want home to be a big part of my ps3 but the way it is now it just isnt , i know i may moan and such but u know what dude i say it like i see it unlike most who just accept 3rd best .

Posted on 14 April, 2010 at 9:11 pm by Ego-Shax
@Sir_Gunnalot so what do you do when you get a perm ban? and Sony will NOT say why and refuse to converse with you anymore, sit back and shut up? When you know that some members get away with ANYTHING and in fact are encouraged to stay by being activity helped on a Day to Day basis.
EU Home will NEVER fully take off till this behaviour is stopped
47
Posted on 14 April, 2010 at 9:12 pm by Plambey
seany you do know that a new Home Square is being worked on right? and most likely a new shopping mall amongst other things? why not wait till then before kickin a fuss bout redeem stations etc, i’d say we’ll have quite a few good things comin in our exclusive EU home update
48
Posted on 14 April, 2010 at 9:17 pm by seany1
well plambey if they come with new home square then great but im just voicing that we definetly need them asap as its a pain logging in and out to type codes in all the time

Posted on 14 April, 2010 at 9:20 pm by Sir_Gunnalot
I would love for it all to be in Home. The US even has it’s own TV series in Home! (do want)
But I know how much effort and work has to be put in as far as software publishing is concerned. And it’s much more than changing language and determining the legalities of items. Let’s not forget the NA region deals with three countries, Japan’s region with one country, Asia’s region with over ten countries, and the EU region with over forty! And yet, we’re still second best for content, rather than 4th best.

Home needs alot of interactivity as well as features that people will want to log onto Home for.
