‘Heads-Up’ PlayStation Store Update (15th April 2010)

Good day to you there, how are you this week? Well I hope.

I just want to remind you all that our PSP Favourites promotion will be ending today, so you don’t have that much longer to take advantage of those crazy prices, just a mere matter of hours in fact. Speaking of which, if you have an eye on bargains, then please step over to the stall and check out the latest batch of Special Offers with Gravity Crash, Prince of Persia Classic and James Cameron’s Avatar:The Game amongst the shiny wares I have for you :).

I’m sure most of you are aware that this week we finally get the much anticipated episodes for Grand Theft Auto IV, The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony onto the store…exciting, I’m sure you’ll agree (they will be available on Friday morning not the usual Thursday publish).

Also, the first episode for the new Sam and Max game The Devil’s Playground is available for those who pre-ordered. If you didn’t pre-order don’t worry though, as you can download the trial, and then buy the full season entitlement if you’d like to continue their adventures (the full season entitlement will also still be available on the store separately from the trial too).

Finally, because I am such a massive fan of System of a Down, and their brilliant frontman Serj Tankian, I have to mention that there are Two Rock Band tracks available from Mr. Tankian’s incredible solo album. I urge you Rock Banders out there to get downloading these awesome tracks, and if you don’t like them, then there’s no accounting for taste is there? I jest, I jest.

To finish, some housekeeping: please be advised the store management team is not actually in the office today or tomorrow, so I won’t be around to respond to your comments. Therefore please don’t be offended by my silence, this is just because I am not here, not because I am ignoring you.

Enjoy your week, and have a great weekend!

“so I won’t be around to respond to your comments. Therefore please don’t be offended by my silence, this is just because I am not here, not because I am ignoring you.”

moriarty1975 15 April, 2010 @ 12:35 pm   13

@11 8mb card?!

Carnivius_Prime 15 April, 2010 @ 12:35 pm   14

Hm, I’ll take Hustle Kings & Zen Pinball stuff. An Eyepet avatar. Maybe the Final Fight pack cos I do like Final Fight. Glad to see the GTA games gonna be on the store. I’d rather have them downloaded onto my hard drive than on disc just for convenience sake.

What happen to that ‘Pac-man:CE’ mini? Is it coming out soon?
[hopefully i can play it on my PS3 to] :P

lulufeena 15 April, 2010 @ 12:35 pm   16

finally a real classic, now for ff9 mike!!

any mike is naruto ultimate ninja heroes 3 going to be released on the store same day as retail in may?

KC-alpha-14 15 April, 2010 @ 12:35 pm   17

Hey mike great update forgive me if I’m wrong but the post on the mini Hysteria Project says £1.24 and it says £1.19 on this post. Which is the right one?

    Yan Marchal 15 April, 2010 @ 4:53 pm

    The right price is £1.19.
I had mistakenly announced £1.24 in the other post: my apologies.
(not that it makes a huge difference anyway^^)

LockIeys 15 April, 2010 @ 12:35 pm   18

Well played, guys.
A great update! :D
Can’t wait to get the nostalgia glands exploding with Double Strike.

hindahouse 15 April, 2010 @ 12:36 pm   19

I was hoping the DLC for GTA would be cheaper on the store because of there being no need for packaging etc.

I was clearly wrong. Why the high price?

AaronSOLDIER 15 April, 2010 @ 12:36 pm   20

Pretty good update this week. Whats the monopoly mini like?

Any word from Lucasarts regarding The Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition?

Roxas598 15 April, 2010 @ 12:36 pm   21

Nice update tbh

vicheous 15 April, 2010 @ 12:36 pm   22

Great update! Some minis and dlc’s for me!
Oh why could we not have gotten the GTA DLC today??

Mike you know what time it will be up tomorow? GMT time…

[DELETED]

Going to try some demo’s today. Other than that I’ll play some Operation Flashpoint wish I bought for only €19,99 :)

Have a Great early weekend!

ODDWORLD!! Oh Mike, you da bomb

Hey Mike

Looks like a nice update, Shatter Dynamic theme will likely be on my list of things to get when I have a few quid left after a purchase.

I’m disappointed the Kick-Ass The Game isn’t out =’[ USA are getting it today. Can you give me any update on it? I know your out of the office atm.

I watched the movie again yesterday and got the ‘Making of’ book which was interesting. I need my Kick-Ass fix and the game will be a huge dose of Kick-Ass!

Thanks

designheadache 15 April, 2010 @ 12:37 pm   26

Hi Mike,

Am i correct in thinking that the GTA episodes are “add on” only and require the original game? I only ask this because there is a disc based version of the game available too that doesnt require the original game, so i need to know which one to buy.

Many thanks, great update :-)

budmuhnquai 15 April, 2010 @ 12:38 pm   27

Skate 3 demo YAAAAAASS!

Shame I’m not going to get to play it until tomorrow afternoon, but still, YAAAAASSS!

Yeah and what about the Flower soundtrack ?

hamildan 15 April, 2010 @ 12:43 pm   37

Can you please comment on the availability of PSN card in shops…..

most places in the high st and online have been sold out for weeks…

Why is there a stock problem with a piece of card with numbers on it?

xJordanatorx 15 April, 2010 @ 12:44 pm   38

When is the store being updated?

leedsunited92 15 April, 2010 @ 12:44 pm   39

I would also like to reinforce hindahouse’s point, why does the GTA DLC cost more for downloading than it does for buying the disc? I mean whats the real difference?

nickjd331 15 April, 2010 @ 12:45 pm   40

Great update. A nice variety of good quality content.

Not bad :) Any chance of Tony Hawks Pro Skater for UK? Or Resident Evil?

Chaosprower 15 April, 2010 @ 12:45 pm   42

Great update, but wasn’t Hamsterball coming this week?

xchris2008x 15 April, 2010 @ 12:47 pm   43

hi mike, great update!

i still have my oddworld disc, but it’s good to see such a game in the classics ;)

question: i read that the new GTA episodes can be played without the original GTA4. that they’re standalone. can you confirm that please, i got confused since it’s in the add-on category :/

z1e9r904 15 April, 2010 @ 12:48 pm   45
