Hello I’m Chris, the Senior Online Producer on SingStar and I’m just bringing you a short update on more great features we are releasing in the June SingStar update, alongside Online Battle.
First though, thanks to everyone who has taken part in our Beta so far, and those who have signed up for the next Beta events, there has been a great response. We have received loads of valuable feedback from you all and been working hard to get fixes and improvements into the game.
Onto the features though…
First up is SingStar Remote, which enables you to connect to SingStar with a PSP during a game session and create a playlist of up to 20 songs. The playlist can be edited whilst someone else is singing, allowing you to queue up loads of songs to play from a carousel on the PSP and move swiftly form one song to the next, ensuring no break in your SingStar party. Ever.
For truly professional SingStar players we have upgraded our gameplay to give the player feedback when you are singing with extra style using your natural vibrato. We suggest honing your vibrato skill on Gold by Spandau Ballet, Street Spirit by Radiohead or one of the tracks from the Il Divo SongPack. Good luck!
SingStar Clubs are expanding, a single club can now have up to 1000 members, and you will be able to join up to five clubs.
We have also made a couple of minor changes to the SingStore - you will be able to view users’ videos in the community galleries directly from a song in the SingStore, and move directly from a song to a corresponding SongPack in which it features.
We hope that you will enjoy all the features coming in the June update and look forward to getting more feedback from those of you that are taking part in the Beta trials. For those of you that aren’t taking part in the Beta, it’d be great to hear your comments on these new features below.

Thank you Chris!
Will the playlist include choosing which Users are up next? I usually have 4-5 people trading off. Would love to be able to skip having to go back to the main page each time.
Also, even if we can’t store the dvd data on the HD, maybe in the future the PSP carousel could include our whole catalog and take you right to the disc swap before the next song? I’m using a spreadsheet right now!

I have a suggestion:
Can say what games you have in disc to mark the respective songs in SingStore and not buy songs you already have by error.
And if all the songs come on the carousel sorted by disc and asking you to change the disc when going to sing would be perfect.

Hello Chris,
Whom can I ask to have more Finnish songs?
I think you have invented a endless moneymaking machine. Just add more Finnish songs and I bet that effort for it is payed back in no time. It has been so long since last update. Last weekend we sang again the same songs as usual. Soon it will be quite booring. It can’t be that hard to add songs into to the system. Right?

If the PSP functionality is essentially remote play, does this mean it will also work on the Aino?

Any ideas on when we can expect a fix to the lack of backwards compatibility to for Bollywood Signstar ? It was one of the reasons I brought the PS3 version of the game, and was disappointed when BW disc didn’t work.
If not backwards compatibility, any chance of Bollywood DLC ?

PLEASE improve the player switching! When y ou’re having a party it’s REALLY irritating having to back all the way out just to change players. This is something that should have been considered in the initial design… I cannot fathom why it has been overlooked for so long. Unless I am the only person who plays with friends? SURELY NOT?
PLEASE fix this. That, and let us adjust the out-of-game volume which is SO MUCH LOUDER than the in-game volume!
Honestly I cannot, for the life of me, work out why these two things have been an issue for so long. They’ve been driving me crazy since I bought SingStar volume 1 when it came out!

I think all singstar needs is:
1- Online Leaderboards
2- A choice of view when selecting song.
(this is where i think lips is better) as i nearly have a 100 songs to scroll through its tedious.
Must be a pain for people with more.
maybe have a layout similar to the store when buying songs or just copy lips, after all they pretty much stole everything from here.
3- when playing 2 player loose the 2 sets of lyrics just have one at the bottom of the screen and have 2 colours on the grid.(not going to work when dueting of course) i hope this makes sense?
its nice having gimmicks like this psp thing but the majority of people probably never even thought “god this game needs remote play for stacking songs”
why not focus on the things that would make this game great (more customisation) ,its good you have finally got round to adding onlineplay.
i just feel time could be better spent on things people want, once thats done then add bells and whistles.
Sorry if this sounds like im having a go, im not.
these are just simple things that i can’t believe have not been added.
Thanks
i look forward to the reply.

#60 Razor-Rat2k
I’ve a feeling that you can remove the lyrics from the top of the screen by adjusting the settings somewhere in the options menu.

Thanks trussell71
Your right never noticed it before
i forgot to put this one in
4-the storing of songs from the other singstar disks to hard drive.
even if it’s just for 24 hours, then on reboot of singstar just ask for the disks once to reauthorise/unlock before playing.

So this will be available in the US too? I’m glad you decided to finally make a playlist thing but I don’t have psp anymore! Actually I got rid of my psp probably more than a year ago now
maybe there will be some other kind of playlist thing

Thanks for the info Chris,
I just wanted to add my 2 cents and ask about something. Would it be possible for you to add a volume level for the score board and the menu. Whenever we play we crank up the song and turn down the volume of the mics and when the scoreboard comes up it is extremely loud and the mics return to the “normal setting” causing a lot of feed back!
This means we have to dive over and grab the controller after every song.
Even just having the mics muted when there is no singing would help.
Thanks!
