Hi everyone. Pete may be sunbathing somewhere exotic but there’s no holding up our weekly serving of great comics -– here’s what’s in store for you this week!
It’s the return of Zombies vs Robots Aventure! The war escalates at an alarming rate, the humans are not as strong as they’d like to think, and to make things worse a new breed of zombies appears… Eek. The comic comes with great audio commentary from writer Chris Ryall.
For the Star Trek fans out there we are debuting a new series this week, Star Trek: McCoy. Follow Leonard McCoy, Doctor of Space Medicine, and his dangerous assignments in strange distant worlds…
Popular series Vampire Hunter D, Atomic Robo Vol. 2 and The Lexian Chronicles continue this week. Unholy curses, perilous situations for our robotic friends, ancient writings wielding long-lost secrets… Busy week.
Also, for those in need of more Locke & Key… No new issue this week because IDW is preparing a special treat for Crown of Shadows #6. Sit tight!

When the comics service launched I bought Astonishing X-Men to read that story arc and it is great, but since then there hasn’t really been anything that appealing. Except kick ass, but you can get the trade for £5 and the issues to download are around £9 so that doesn’t make any sense to me.
Most of the rest of the stuff is continuing series and I really want more limited series or story arcs which are known to be great and that’s not really there for me. I hope it gets better soon.

Tell us what you’re looking for (here or in the forum), we can ask publishers nicely and who knows…

It’s nice to see that on a gaming consoles there are more comics than games…

Comics have been around since the 1930s so in term of getting more content it helps.

Will you be releasing more issues of The Amazing Spider-Man? Been enjoying the reboot but it’s been two weeks without updates. Hope it’s not a short term fad as the comic store has been saving me a trip to my local comic store, which isn’t exactly local.

I have good news for you – more issues are coming very soon.
If I were you I’d check next week’s update.

Any news of when there’ll be updates to Cancertown and The Warriors?
Posted on 29 April, 2010 at 4:34 pm by Pauline Martyn
Not just yet, but I will ask the publishers today!

*update*
The publisher is working hard on the next issue, so you may have to wait a few more weeks but it’s coming…

Ooooh, any chance you could tease us some more about Crown of Shadows 6? wink wink, nudge nudge
Also, can we get Comic Update heading on the sidebar along with game/video

No clotted cream or £50 notes, sorry to disappoint.
You should both be pleased though.
@Zoibie: we’ll try!

I too would shell out some serious dosh if a PS3 comic reader was made available.
One other thing. Change the damn browser to either be based on Safari, Firefox or Chrome. The current one is way too buggy!
Sony, you know it makes sense!!

nice, new tf comic.
i’d still like to see the rest of idw’s g1 series on the store, right from the first couple of mini series.
i’m kinda surprised you haven’t got a batch of iron man issues ready for the launch of the sequel in cinemas, anybody who does go to see it, stay till the end of the credits, trust me it’s totally worth it.
i’m going to have to be a bit childish and buy that sonic comic i’m afraid, just don’t tell anybody, ok

you should totally try to get archie meets the punisher for the store.
the punisher comes to riverdale, i’ve got it, it’s mental.
if there’s one crossover that seemed destined to never happen, this was it.
but it did, somehow.

We have quite a lot of Iron Man in the store now (Iron man (2004), Invincible Iron Man…) but more issues are indeed coming – keep an eye out!
Don’t feel childish – it’s retro, and it’s good retro.

I’d like to see The Warriors make a reappearance too.
And of course some DC and PS3 support.
You don’t ask you don’t get right…?
Thank you Pauline

Great update once again. It’s just sad that we won’t be getting Locke & Key every week from now once since we have caught up with the ongoing series now.
Still plenty of other great content to get though
Posted on 30 April, 2010 at 12:48 pm by Pauline Martyn
Glad you like it!
I know, it’s a shame we don’t have any Locke & Key this week – but we’ll be resuming soon.
I’m addicted too!

is the whole sonic run going to be put up on the store? because it’s been going for ten years or so now, around a 150 issues i think, could get expensive
though still probably cheaper and easier than trying to get all the print issues.
Posted on 30 April, 2010 at 12:44 pm by Pauline Martyn
No plans just yet, but I’m sure if the first run does well we’ll be seeing more.
Bad news for our bank accounts eh!

Wasn’t Sonic the Hedgehog #1 on the store last week? or do you mean #2?

Posted on 29 April, 2010 at 7:57 pm by Shadowdragoon
Think last weeks edition was numbered #0 not #1, so think its correct.

That’s right – thanks Shadowdragoon.
