FirstPlay Episode 3

Greetings, PlayStation travellers,

FirstPlay Episode 3

Big thanks again to everyone who’s tried FirstPlay episodes 001 and 002 so far. They’re both still available on the Store for the princely sum of 99p, and include good things like a Super Street Fighter IV review, a free minis game, and as many jokes as we could write in a week without going mad.

FirstPlay Episode 3

Episode 003 will be up on the Store from this Thursday, featuring an HD review of EA Sports’ 2010 FIFA World Cup, and previews of bad-tempered arcade racer Blur and 2K’s elegantly hatted gangster epic Mafia II. There’s also another round of Network Highlights – including a look at PS3’s best online shooters and the latest downloadable movies – and the latest screenshots of UFC Undisputed 2010 andDead Rising 2.

FirstPlay Episode 3

As ever, this is all yours for just 99p, or even less if you sign up for a 90-day subscription.

We’re also looking for ways to get FirstPlay more involved with the PS3 community. If you’ve got any PS3 videos you’d like to share – maybe you’ve captured some awesome Modern Warfare 2 kills, or a flawless WipEout lap, or anything at all – we want to hear about it. You can get in touch with us through our new YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/FirstPlayUK, email us at FirstPlay@futurenet.com or hit us up on on Twitter at @firstplay_uk.

This Week On The SingStore (22 April 2010)

Countries: , , , ,

Hi all!

The time has come… the Lady Gaga SongPack hits the store on Thursday including ‘Bad Romance’ and ‘LoveGame’. These are also available for download as singles in case you already bought ‘Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say)’, ‘Just Dance’ and ‘Poker Face’.

Lady Gaga - Bad Romance

I know a lot of you have been waiting for this so I fully expect to see some amazing Gaga-style performances in the coming weeks. I’ll be watching!

Island Records is our SongPack number two this week and it contains five crackin’ tracks from the likes of The Christians, Pulp, The Fratellis and Mika plus ‘With Or Without You’ by the mighty U2.

If none of the above is getting you in the mood for some serious singing and dancing then you might want to throw on your leathers and rock out to a little Alice Cooper or get into the swing of things with some Peggy Sue or Lionel Richie. As usual, see below for the full tracklist. Enjoy!

Also keep your eyes peeled for a great new competition (UK only) in game this week.

PlayStation Move Developer Diary – The Fight

EnglishSelect a Language:

Countries: , , , ,

Hi everyone. I’m John McLaughlin, and I’m a producer on the new PlayStation Move brawler, The Fight: Lights Out.

We had a really positive response from everyone who played the game at the Game Developers Conference under the working title, “Motion Fighter,” and since then we’ve been working hard on getting the game together. We’re currently in an alpha state and things are starting to look sweet.

We’ve conducted a ton of motion capture to ensure that every punch, every hit reaction, every dirty move and every hard-hitting knockout makes the player feel right in the thick of the action. So get ready to go blow-for-blow in the fight of your life because now, only with PS3 and the PlayStation Move motion controller, you’ll be able to throw punches with total precision. Throw jabs, hooks and uppercuts any way you like, just as you would in real life. Duck, bob and weave in real-time with the PlayStation Eye tracking your head movements.

Don’t think you’re much of a fighter? Well, it doesn’t matter — just fight dirty instead! Launch a two-handed ear drum burst to stun your opponent and follow up with a sly elbow to the face. Grab hold of his ears, head-butt him and then finish him off with a backhander. This is The Fight, and you can fight any way you want to – just make sure you win! All of this is only possible with the freedom of movement available with PlayStation Move.

That’s all from me for now. Be on the lookout for more on The Fight at E3. In the meantime, check out this new video to the get the low down on how PlayStation Move helps deliver the ultra-realistic brawling experience of The Fight.
