Thursday night saw some seriously creative talent unleashed at SCEE’s head office in London. The ModNation Racers social event kicked off in style, with mod decorating, remote control car racing and even a ModNation mural being painted in the building.
The attendees created their own mods, which were on display at the event. Classic cartoon characters, TV stars and superheroes were created ModNation style, along with some really original works of art.
The mods were judged in three categories; most original, most realistic and least effort. Winner of the most realistic category was SCEE’s own Lewis Nguyen, who created Darth Mod.
“It’s been a great night, a real success. I’m impressed by the amount of effort that has gone into some of the mods, my favourites are Modhatma Gandhi and Neytiri from Avatar. I’m so pleased Darth Mod won!”
Money was being raised for the charity IT4CH, who provide children and young people who are sick, disabled or underprivileged with access to ICT. Liam Quigley, product manager for ModNation Racers, organised the event to promote the new racing title.
“The event went really well, I am seriously impressed by the amount of effort people have put into creating their mods, and we raised money for a great charity, too.”
We’re going to be giving away some mods early next week, so be sure to check back to get your hands on one!
ModNation Racers is released today on PS3 and PSP, so you can get creative too!

Will we be able to win those awesome mods in Denmark and other European countries too, or is it UK-only?

Please do something about the European servers. I haven’t even been able to get the Trophy for racing one online race…
