So I’m pretty confident that this week, there’s got to be something available for everyone…I’ll be surprised if there isn’t. Oh, hello by the way, hope you are well ![]()
So, let’s get cracking. The first of the new games I want to highlight this week is Fret Nice, which takes the world of guitar based rock and platforming gameplay mechanics and combines them into a side-scrolling game…intriguing no? Moving on, we have the sequel to Soldner-X: Himmelssturmer, this time with an easier to pronounce title too; Soldner-X 2: Final Prototype. This game features masses of enemies, an arsenal of explosive weaponry, and looks pretty gorgeous too, it’s also a great reminder of the old-school side-scrolling shooters of yesteryear too (what is it with side-scrolling games this week?).
For those of you who have bought the Sam and Max bundle, then Episode 2: The Tomb of Sammun-Mak (catchy title huh, did you see what they did there?) is available this week too. I’m sure there will be many of you who have not had enough Final Fantasy in your life recently, so we’re pleased to say that the PSone release of Final Fantasy IX also hits the store today!
As mentioned on the blog earlier this week, we have the madcap mini Feel For Two available this week, and what’s there not to love about a game that features mini-games with names such as Pile Up! Bakery and Sheep Defense.
I also want to mention quickly that we have MAG dynamic themes available and new avatars from the worlds of Uncharted 2 and Soldner-X 2
As always though I don’t have enough room to write about everything that’s released this week, there are other games, demos and additional content that I have not been able to talk about. So I suggest you take a look below for the full rundown.
As usual, comments fun shall be had, so let me know your thoughts. Cheerio ![]()

Is this UPDATE available in AU? It is not labeled on the BLOG Post.
Posted on 26 May, 2010 at 12:37 pm by Mike Kebby
Of course it is
The blog label is not about store locales, that’s where my availability section under the titles comes into play.

Hi Mike
Glad to see Soldner up today! Just a quick question while I’m here then, any idea of Ridge Racer (any version, although preferably the PSOne original or RR2 for PSP) hitting the store soon? I can’t believe it was all those years ago we saw Kaz doing the infamous demo and yet us EU folk still can’t download it to our PSPs!
Any news is much appreciated and keep up the good work!
Posted on 26 May, 2010 at 12:41 pm by Mike Kebby
It’s one of the titles I keep asking about, but there are things that have to be hurdled first. My fingers are crossed though.

Any chance of a price reduction on Cuboid or Afterburner, please?
Definitely going to get FirstPlay this week, Blast Off is meant to be great. Really considering SoldnerX 2, shame they didn’t do a trial and unlock. Voodoo Dice looks intriguing, glad it has a demo because there’s no reviews!

Also, a few questions about avatars.
1) Are we getting any of the other avatars that SCEA released yesterday? 4 from SSF4 and 10 from Pain.
2) Why don’t we get avatar bundles? SCEA released bundles for LBP and U2 where you get 4 or 5 avatars in the pack for $1.49, basically getting 2 free. We still have to buy them all individually.

Final Fantast 9 + New avatars?!?!?!
SCEE actually did something right and on time?!
Are we all gonna get YLOD, because something like this always needs a balance right Lol
Nah but seriously Mike this is actually how smoothly things should run.
Well done.
PS: any news on Team Ico Collections mate? Theres rumours all over the net right now of it coming soon. Make my day with a reply mike…

Mike on a more serious note, I hope I don’t give the impression of a stuck in the mud gamer wanting everything now. I merely want equality between the stores, not only on release dates but pricing too.
If I have portrayed myself in a poor light I am sorry, I merely ‘fight’ for the equality of all regions not just the EU. It is sad to know america didn’t get FF9 this week (but I can’t help feel its abit justified after FF8
)
