Welcome to Obsession Confessions – a community driven feature I have been running over at eu.playstation.com in conjunction with the official PlayStation Forums.
The idea is to give you people a topic and let you run with it, whether that’s the toughest boss you’ve encountered or the most gruesome toilet you’ve discovered in your gaming life.
This time, with the release of PlayStation Move drawing closer, we want to know which classic PlayStation games you think are screaming out for a motion control remake and write a few words on why. It could be the original Crash Bandicoot, with sickness-inducing realistic spin attacks, or even Pandemonium (does anyone even remember that game).
Either drop us your comments below or click on the links below to go to the local forum thread in your country (I know some of you prefer to write stuff like this in your native language). The most popular choices will be put into a top ten list along with our favourite quotes.

Ah, Pandemonium – what a classic. I remember it well – Nikki was the best though not that Jester dude! lol

Oh yes, I forgot her. Was she in the original or just the sequel?

Is it just first party?
If it is I would say the original Ape Escape, CTR and Jak and Daxter.
If third party is included I would love an Okami HD remake with Move.

It can be whatever you like. My choice would probably be Fight Night Round 4, although 12 rounds with Pacquiao would be so tiring.

I would love to see both Crash Bandicoot and Pandemonium with PS Move support. But better make Jak and Daxter Collection with all 4 Jak games, in HD with trophy and PS Move support

So wait – is this something you guys are actually considering, or is it just for fun?
Posted on 28 May, 2010 at 12:43 pm by James Gallagher
It’s just for fun and a way to try and get the community talking around a topic. Sometimes I manage to get hold of little prizes for the best quotes but I didn’t manage to on this occasion. That being said, someone might make a sterling suggestion that WWS just can’t resist!

1) PaRappa the Rapper
Using motion to perform the rap would be awesome
2) Fluid
Control the dolpin to make an epic sound track (with editing maybe)
3) Colony Wars
Use the motion to controls to simultaneously move the craft and target enemies

Vib Ribbon would be cool to see with Move support.
Who said 2D is dead?
Posted on 28 May, 2010 at 1:26 pm by James Gallagher
Not me, and that’s my favourite suggestion so far. It’s going to get so confusing if people start making 2D games in 3D.

Patapon – you could make a really fun game with all the simple drumming patterns and even use the microphone, too.

Thanks… just thanks. I’m going to have that song in my head all afternoon now! Great idea though. I can imagine LocoRoco working well with Move too.

Greetings,
I truthfully am not too interested with Playstation Move, however i could definitely change my mind if few of the games listed below would eventually make an appearance on PlayStation 3:
1- Okami
In short, Okami (ps2) is my favorite videogame of all time. This only title would unhesitatingly make me purchase a Move, just as Zelda Twilight Princess made me purchase a Nintendo Wii.
2- Fatal Frame
My favorite genre in gaming is Horror. I must have tested them all, or nearly, but Fatal Frame is undoubtedly the only horror franchise that truly have frightened me, so much that i often had to switch off the PS2 and stop playing. It has been such a long time since that i have felt those feelings, and i sure long them. I firmly believe that porting the title that was developed on Wii, entitled “Mask of the Lunar Eclipse” to the PS3 would be a wise decision, and i would definitely be one of the very first to own it.
3- Samba de Amigo
How many hours of laugh, fun and dance have i spent on Dreamcast with Samba de Amigo. This title is unquestionably the craziest title i have ever played, and it would be in my honest opinion a huge mistake not to offer it to the PS3 community.
Bring on the maracas!

Warhawk – because there aren’t enough noobs spinning around without a clue what they’re doing already and this gives them a legitimate excuse.

Kurayami! No doubt!
Be able to live an reinterpretation of Kafka by Goichi Suda, with a torch and a lighting-control system associated with the Move (and with the 3-D) would make an absurd sense of immersion, creating a masterpiece of extraordinary dimensions.
I ask too much… True?
Also an remastered version of Okami is very Perfect for Move!
Please Do IT!

I think Okami is going to be a popular choice when I write up your favourites next week. I’m off to talk E3 with my gaffers now. Thanks for all your great comments – I love running these community quizzes and hearing your views. Have top weekends!

I remember Pandemodium but only the case. I was going to buy it but decided on Crash Bandicoot instead.
As for which should get motion controls : ModNation Racers. I WANT TO DRAW on my mods/cars with pinpoint accuracy.
Or are you looking for PS1/PS2 titles only? Can’t really think of any except for Time Crisis.

First party would be FantaVision on the PS2, imagine those fireworks in HD… OOOh, Ahhhh etc.
For third party I would love to see a remake of Deathtrap Dungeon for ps1, based on the Fighting Fantasy books. It could be a great mix of branching story, combat and puzzles in an oppressive setting.

Oh yes, Pandemonium! Loved both games. Would love to see a #3 on PS3. Maybe as PSN game?

Silent Hill (or variant of flashlight type scary game)

You can’t fail to have noticed the apparent lack of point ‘n’ click adventures on PS3, so my suggestions are as follows:
Broken Sword 1, 2, 3 + 4
Discworld 1, 2 + Noir
Myst (realMYST preferably), Riven + Myst III Exile (in fact the entire Myst series could and should be remastered)

I Agree Taurus82
Discworld I – II
and many others point and click adventure
like Machinarium
Move it’s perfect for many genres of games
also like Heavy Rain!

^^
I for one am happy to continue playing point ‘n’ click adventures with the DualShock3, but for the rest adding Move support to these should ease their pain.

Resident Evil Dead Aim.
I know you said PS Classics but I would love to see a House Of The Dead game come to PS3 using the PS Move.

Crash Bandicoot remake only if it’s made by ND.
I think Road Rash (or Rage?) would be perfect. Swinging that chain with the controller …oh man

Folklore:
Oh… yes, please. By the people that made the game – they where the first and select few to actually impress me with the sixxas. And the whole game is of such high quality (bare the coding) that I could actually see them work this out impressively.
Not that it’s ever going to happen… ah, it still hurts my heart to think there won’t ever be a sequel to this magical game.
Flower:
This game is just made for motion controls, the sixxas works great in this, but I’m curious to see or the same magic feel can be translated to the move or even be enhanced by the move.

Hmmm, I think Flow would be nice to play with the Move – or something like Blast Factor?
How about Shadow of the Colossus?

None, motion control remakes are pathetic, make something original instead of a lazy re-hash.

G Police and Colony Wars have some awesome scope for really interesting control schemes using both move controllers one as a joystick the other as a targeting control.
Medievil
Sword and shield, walking by using the trigger like heavy rain loads of scope for minigames.
Treasures of the Deep
Again great scope for giving a sense of being underwater, not being as combat heavy as it was but mapping the arms on the minisub to the move controllers or RV’s like they actually do it in real life, multiplayer someone drives the sub.
Bushido blade
Accurate samurai battles could be interesting.
Krazy Ivan
even though it sucked quite a bit try and capture the scale of being in a giant robot and it replicating your movements you could use headtracking, bodytracking as well, wouldn’t matter if it was a bit slower as ure a big robot. You could also make it war of the monsters 2
This is pre playstation but pretty sure sony own the IP psygnosis’s “ECSTATICA”
old skool survival horror set in the dark ages lots of puzzles requiring 1:1 motion with ps3 visuals real adventure game.
off the top of my head for ps1

@jase619 – No surprise there, we aren’t very high on the priority list for anything really.
Back to games that’d suit motion control, how about Brian Lara/Shane Warne Cricket? That’s an old classic that motion controls would be awesome with.
Also on the sport subject, how about any decent Tennis game using motion controls?

The Minna no Golf/Everybodys Golf Series would be nice with motion controls.

There are many games I can think of, but for me personally games of the Descent genre, G-Police, or even the old Mouse driven classic ‘Virus’, but also Zone of the Enders 1 and 2 of course, and of course the whole pack of space-sims (there are lots of obvious ones, though personally I have fond memories of the classic Warhead)
I remember when I played Descent on the PC that I thought the concept was incredible, but the free movement in space required too many controls and that’s what kept the genre back. I even connected my racing wheel pedals to the PC and mapped them to forwards and backwards movement.
A move controller could be perfect for controlling a ship in 3D space – it would probably even be possible with a single move controller if you make clever use of the two analog buttons, but using one controller for steering and the other for controlling the various on-board weapons would do even better. I think this also allows for some great co-op, both off-line and online, where one player can control the ship in full 3D and the other the weapons. Even eye/head-tracking could be implemented to assist in gaining a wider field of view independent of your weapon/ship orientation, for both players.

uncharted 1/2
Every game in playstaion home that can take advantage of the controller with spectator support!
Any game involving shooting like RED DEAD REDEMPTION!!! (my pc’s mouse spoiled me lol) Lost planet 2..ect
Astriod HD (another shooter example)
Dead space 1/2 with 1:1 control over the buzz saw weapons (aside from fast/accurate pointer control)

Posted on 30 May, 2010 at 1:47 am by Jvolel
Capcoms Maximo(ghouls and ghost) with 1:1 control over his sword/shield. We need an improved sub controller for this! We need our analog stick movement + full motion(ball and everything) like the main move controller!
An hd version of “The world ends with you” from squareenix for psn (the most unique game I can think of) http://www.theworldendswithyou.com/
Noitu Love 2: Devolution HD for psn – or something similar in hd with improved gameplay – http://www.konjak.org/section.php?section=noitu2
A new dragon quest swords game from square enix as well with 1:1 control for weapon/shield (semi-on rails slasher)
Update or replace the ps3 browser (should probably act like a game in a way to use more memory, then use the old browser for in game related stuff) so we can have better support for online browser based games that utilize “point n’ click” style interfaces!

Ico and Shadow of the Colossus Collection – An HD remake of both games (like the God of War Collection) with MOVE functionality would be one of the greatest adventure experiences of all time. Using the move controller to fend off enemies in Ico and then when used with the sub controller would make the bow in Shadow of the Colossus more authentic than ever!
Okami would be a natural fit for this with the brush movements being done with the Move controller and movement on the sub-controller.
From the PS1? MediEvil. This game would be brilliant, wielding Sir Dan’s sword with the motion controls and holding up his shield. A lot of the other weapons would be perfect for Move too especially the bow and arrows and the lightning magic, i can see the Move’s orb colour changing depending on which one you select!
