That’s right. At the Sony E3 press conference today at the Shrine Auditorium, SCEA President & CEO Jack Tretton unveiled a jaw-dropping showpiece trailer of Gran Turismo 5 that disclosed the big news – GT5 is officially coming November, 2010.
As you can expect from any Gran Turismo game, GT5 will be bigger and better than ever, including everything from 950+ cars to a new and improved online component with expansive community features and custom race lobbies. Before you head off to pre-order the game that every racing fan is going to be playing, you’ll need to decide which version you’re going to get: the standard edition or the limited Collector’s Edition. And if you’re a true Gran Turismo fan, of course you’ll want to pick up the Collector’s Edition.

At current this is showing details for America. I’m currently chasing concrete details for Europe and will update the post accordingly. I’m also changing the release date to November and will update that when I have full confirmation. Apologies for any confusion.

Once again, apologies for any confusion on this – the US post went live and I’d like to confirm that all information posted on here is correct so I am chasing firm details on if these Collector’s Editions apply to Europe or not. Its taken directly from the US blog.
It works out for GBP @ £67.55 or E euros. Thats if the collectors edition is availble for EU.
I would really like to know when its released for the EU.
There is really no excuse for a delay.

Please let us know how much and when we’ll get this special edition. Europe is GT’s biggest market and we deserve to get as much infos as the US side of things.

Considering that the GT5 trailer (which includes the release date) is available to watch on Home for everybody shouldn’t this meen a worldwide release date?

I want to know the song name too, sounds class!
Judging by the sound of it, and history with past GT titles, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a Daiki Kasho track, sounds like his style.
On the release date: it wouldn’t surprise me if they made up for the Johnny-Come-Lately attitude and went Day 1 Global, releasing here on a Tuesday instead of Friday. A game of this magnitude would more than warrant it IMO.

They shoulda either done the damage completely realistic or had no damage. Like if i hit a wall at thirty i shouldnt be driving anymore unless im lucky. The damage we have seen just looks crap “oh my bumper and door”. I want fully destructiable cars or no damage, half damage or tiny damage as we have seen just ruins the game and it isnt a simulator anymore. Like if i smash my car at 90mph the car shouldnt be recognizable.
Also im taking bets the release will be delayed in about a month or two. November 2nd? NOPE January 2011? MAYBE. MAY 2011? YES…..No wait we need to change somthing give us a year.GRAN TURSIMO 5 2012!!!. Just a joke at this point give up SONY and Polphony

Red Bull involvement. Seb Vettel being the voice of the game. Adrian Newey giving technical expertise. Top Gear track complete with Stig. Day/Night cycle with glorious looking twilight and night racing. Car roll overs. Maserati. Beefy car noises. Better tyre screeching. Excellent dust graphics. November 2nd. Now all we need is weather…Maybe it wasn’t perfected for the trailer.
