That’s right. At the Sony E3 press conference today at the Shrine Auditorium, SCEA President & CEO Jack Tretton unveiled a jaw-dropping showpiece trailer of Gran Turismo 5 that disclosed the big news – GT5 is officially coming November, 2010.
As you can expect from any Gran Turismo game, GT5 will be bigger and better than ever, including everything from 950+ cars to a new and improved online component with expansive community features and custom race lobbies. Before you head off to pre-order the game that every racing fan is going to be playing, you’ll need to decide which version you’re going to get: the standard edition or the limited Collector’s Edition. And if you’re a true Gran Turismo fan, of course you’ll want to pick up the Collector’s Edition.

Community bloke and all round good fella (apparently) Musterbuster has posted in the “Its Smegging here” thread on the GT section of the forum that GT5 in the EU will have a November 2010 release date. Other than that not sure what else will happen.

Finally… let’s hope NZ pricing is comparative to Europe and online play has better penalty logic.

Hi James, would you be able to give me some 3D details please.
1) What’s the resolution in 3D mode? (please 1080)
2) What’s the refresh rate, 120fps or 60fps (total)?
Thank you

Duke Nukem forever……….
since every promis of sony has a 5 year timespan.
does this mean in 2012 the EU can also view movies on the PSN
or do we have to wait until hell freezes

@James Gallagher
Can you ask if he can explain if standard models have a dashboard view or not,just be straight about it.
If only 200 have the dashboard,despite my love for GT I’d probably pass.I don’t drive in any other view,so limiting myself at 200 cars isn’t something I’d enjoy.

I agree vonhammer, seems that most reporters don’t seem to make the difference clear, is it cockpit view we are talking about here or not?

Maybe you hadn’t noticed, but E3 takes place in the US.

@vonhammer
I’m not sure about this but my bet would be on all cars having cockpit view, just not completly modeled interiors.

from the lack of response to the eu date question i would say there is zero chance we’ll be seeing this in europe anywhere near the us date.
if it doesn’t make it for at least christmas they’re going to have a lot of very annoyed ps3 owners on their hands.

I am properly excited about this game…
I notice that some people are never satisfied though. Moaing for months on end about not getting a release date and then when they do get one, moaning some more about whether it’ll get delayed again.
My only hope for the game is that they’ve sorted the rubber-banding issues that have plagued other incarnations (especially the PSP version). Other than that I can see this making my wife more of a Playstation widow than she already is !!!!

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I do believe that we here in GT’s biggest but as usually least prioritized market were promised some kind of news on exactly how much worse and more expensive the Limited Edition will be in Europe.
Actually, I re-read your post, and you wrote that we’ll just get some kind of post about GT5 in Europe today, so I guess it might also be about how long it will take us to get GT5 after it’s been released in America.
What happened?

@whoismilan We, the EU, are usually the last for everything. First release Japan, then US then EU. And the biggest market is?? EU of course!
Needs info now!!!

I wanted to watch this on my tv but the link for the video on the Playstation Store for this vid is broken. Instead of the GT5 video you get a Modnation Racers thumbnail picture. I watched it in the E3 space in Home and it looks awesome, but I’d like to download and see it in better quality on my tv. I’m posting on here coz I don’t know how to report such things in the hope it will be spotted, Thanks

@Pablo2008jedi
It’s been comfirmed by Kaz himself that 2nd November is a worldwide release.
@ Xx_UntouchablexX
Most likely it’s by Daiki Kasho, but no one knows exactly what the name is so all we can do is wait until the game is released.

Yes I had noticed, maybe you hadn’t noticed the press conference being streamed live, world wide? Modern technology, it’s amazing, you should try it sometime.
Video games are a global market, Sony is a global company, but as usuall the world stops at America’s coast as far as most, not all, Americans are concerned.

Well I did trust, but…

I’m on it! I’ve been pestering the GT manager all day and he is going to write a new post tomorrow specifically for Europe. Trust me, it hasn’t stopped moving!
I haven’t seen anything yet. Only “A Chat With Kazunori Yamauchi, Creator Of Gran Turismo” but that didn’t revel much.
So I’ll say it again James, move that ass of yours!
Cheers!
