‘Heads-Up’ PlayStation Store Update (16th June 2010)

I know most of you are more interested in E3 this week then anything I can offer, but at least spare a quick thought for your favourite digital store please :-)

You can enjoy some of the E3 fun direct from the store as we have a list of various trailers available for download, as well as the usual selection of goodies that are be available. What goodies you ask? Well goodies such as Tales of Monkey Island, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and more SingStar song packs than you can shake a stick at.

I’m not even going to try and compete with all the E3 news that’s flying around, so I’m going to keep it short this week. One final thing though; we do have some additional trailers released onto the store tomorrow too.

I’ll be around in the comments as usual.

Good afternoon all, I just want to do a bit of ‘housekeeping’ before I start jumping into all your comments.

I just want to point out that whilst I am always happy to respond to your comments, I will not be sharing release date information for titles, unless this information is already in the public domain (or the publisher has given me the okay to do so). This is because it is not my place to be making announcements over release dates for our publishers.

As much as I can see release date information, this is always subject to change, and as publishers often have specific marketing plans around release dates, the last thing I want to is cause them headaches by laying waste to well laid plans. I’m sure you can all understand and appreciate this.

Thanks ;)

XxDARKxxMIDASxX 16 June, 2010 @ 1:15 pm   17

It’s funny that there are no comments from all the people that were moaning about Monkey Island not being available.

Eararaldor 16 June, 2010 @ 1:15 pm   18

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
17th of June to all locales except Ireland and UK where title is released on the 18th of June) Rating: PEGI 18

God dammit! I was looking forward to playing that today!

Raider197 16 June, 2010 @ 1:15 pm   19

Why isn’t the Sony conference being put up :-( I watched a live stream of it but I’d like to see the Gabe Surprise and Kevin Butler in glorious high-definition :-D

Colin McRae DiRT 2
Access All Areas Pack (£3.19/€3.99)
Trust Fund Pack (£3.19/€3.99)

Oooh, now that smells of Codemasters being a bit embarrased about Dirt 2 DLC and doing a “Release it during E3 and no one will notice” :D

Where is the E3 SONY Conference?

vicheous 16 June, 2010 @ 1:16 pm   22

Nice one mike!
Monkey island for me! One thing i did not expect was the Dirt 2 pack!!

Peace Walker is so expensive! I am not getting that anymore :(

snkkpnkk 16 June, 2010 @ 1:16 pm   24

moriarty1975 16 June, 2010 @ 1:16 pm   25

Neo-Renzokuken 16 June, 2010 @ 1:17 pm   26

Will the Sony E3 conference be available to download on the EU stores this year?

WOW £31.99 peacewalker lol its £21.99 out shops lmfaoo

Roxas598 16 June, 2010 @ 1:17 pm   28

mike

not happy

peace walker for 32 quid =\ come on!

1 more thing any news about ToE for me or the FMA game?

    Mike Kebby 16 June, 2010 @ 1:21 pm

I’m afraid I can only advise other publishers on pricing, it is their decision.

You can see however, from recent pricing as per ModNation Racers, that we are trying to do something about the discrepancy on prices between physical and digital products.

Sambuque 16 June, 2010 @ 1:18 pm   29

No Gundemonium ?

djax-djax-djax 16 June, 2010 @ 1:18 pm   30

No Pinball Heroes :-(. And only ONE minis, US store has yesterday TEN minis :-(

sharpenedpixel 16 June, 2010 @ 1:19 pm   31

I already completed Tales of Monkey Island 6 months ago :( You’d think on E3 week they’d announce a cool game or demo and have it up on the store as a suprise ‘and it’s on the store tomorrow at 3PM!’ but no, it’s as much a disappointment as Playstation Plus.

cheers mike for ignoring a very valid and important question about psn plus and ps1 games . typical

    Mike Kebby 16 June, 2010 @ 1:24 pm

I’ve said all I can say about PSone Classics coming to the store in previous weeks. We’ll get what is possible for publishers to release here in Europe, and we are working on making more 1st party titles available in the future.

Mike,

A question you must be able to answer:

The Fat Princess trailer said “the DLC is now available”, can’t see it here though. Can you comment?

Focalpoint 16 June, 2010 @ 1:19 pm   34

some interesting stuff but i cant really buy anything now until i get an annual subscription to plus, just incase whatever i buy suddenly becomes free with the sub.

MarvinUyleman 16 June, 2010 @ 1:19 pm   35

Mr. Kebby, the prices for BFBC2 seperate kits are not right :D *SPOTTED*

    Mike Kebby 16 June, 2010 @ 1:29 pm

They are indeed right, the bundle has vehicle unlocks too that aren’t available separately ;)

“PLEASE be StarHawk… PLEASE!

probably would have been show at Sony conference if it was coming soon

takedownkd 16 June, 2010 @ 1:20 pm   37

ANy news on the next heavy rain dlc?

AcidCrashX 16 June, 2010 @ 1:20 pm   38

O_O 31.99 for peace walker? ….. hmm Konami must of been drunk.

Kurushi Final :O THAT GAME IS AWESOME! nice one Mikeface, have a good day :)

MGS: Peace Walker price is a total joke. £32 for a PSP game, what the hell are Konami smokin’?

TheSabreman 16 June, 2010 @ 1:21 pm   40

Feel sorry for PSP Go owners as they have no choice.

Metal Gear Solid – Peace Walker is £17.91 @ Amazon !

@Roxas, ToE = Namco as the developer & publisher = EU no chance! I had to import it, but if you’ve only got a PSP Go then your not gonna get it. Watch Namco prove me wrong now lol

RadioactiveMouse 16 June, 2010 @ 1:21 pm   42

Seconded all those who ask for the Conference on the store ;)

Would be nice to see it all again :)

AoNekoAmaru 16 June, 2010 @ 1:21 pm   43

Nice E3 update and I am so getting Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker tomorrow as soon as it’s up! =D

Is a solution in the works for those like me who bought the MotorStorm Hessian – Level Kit last Thursday but only got a download link for the free The Easter Theme – Costume. The MotorStorm Hessian – Level Kit doesn’t show as bought on the PlayStation Store any longer while the free The Easter Theme – Costume does and I still don’t see any refund in the wallet.

And will the Racers Tag Costume for LittleBigPlanet on PS3 reappear on the PlayStation Store?

Good continued E3 days to you all. ;3

crusher915 16 June, 2010 @ 1:21 pm   44

are you guys going to speak to the call of duty world at war guys?, it is cheaper to buy the game on steam and getting the map packs for free, rather than buying the map packs here.(bundle)

cybertaylor4 16 June, 2010 @ 1:22 pm   45

whens spyro 2 re-released?

xchris2008x 16 June, 2010 @ 1:23 pm   46

Workshed 16 June, 2010 @ 1:23 pm   47

Hey Mike,
It’s great that Tales of Monkey Island has made an appearance (And i’ll definitely be getting it tonight) but is there any news on Monkey Island SE? It’s getting a bit ridiculous now :(
Cheers

still no street fighter avatars for europe let me guess those will be held back for psn plus users .

Oooh, some new trailers…

Starhawk? Resistance 3? Kevin Butler: The Game? 0.0

xchris2008x 16 June, 2010 @ 1:24 pm   50
