Hi Everyone, Richie from Konami UK here.
How would you like to meet the creator of Metal Gear Solid Hideo Kojima and lead artist Yoji Shinkawa? Well you can this weekend!
As part of the METAL GEAR SOLID: PEACE WALKER World Tour, Hideo Kojima and Yoji Shinkawa are coming to London for two exclusive signing sessions.
The first is on Friday June 18th at HMV’s Oxford Street store (150 Oxford Street, W1) between 16:00 and 18:00; they’ll be there to meet the fans and sign copies of the new METAL GEAR SOLD: PEACE WALKER on launch day. HMV is also the only place you’ll be able to get your hands on the Exclusive Packaging with the Japanese cover art
The second event is taking place on Saturday June 19th at UNIQLO’s flagship store (311 Oxford Street) between 11:00 – 13:00, Mr Kojima and Mr Shinkawa will be there to meet the fans and sign copies of METAL GEAR SOLID: PEACE WALKER or if you got that signed the day before, how about an exclusive postcard made especially for the event. There may even be some giveaways for the first people in line at the UNIQLO signing.
But wait, there’s more. You can also get your hands on one of the limited edition METAL GEAR SOLID: PEACE WALKER T-Shirts by UNIQLO, each t-shirt has a code which will unlock a T-Shirt for use in the game. The t-shirts don’t go on sale in the UK until the day of the signing and will sell out fast (no pre-orders available, first come first served)
It’s going to be an exciting weekend, hope to see you there!

Yeah until he changes the price of the game on the PSN service he can leave again, he could charge alot less and still make more profit on it that he does at retail and allow us PSP Go owners to actually play the game without feeling like we were mugged.

Question! At the HMV event, do we HAVE to buy a copy of the UMD game to get it signed? I plan to download the digital copy onto my PSP Go. Can we simply queue up to get something else signed? Appreciate any help

At HMV Mr Kojima and Mr Shinkawa will only be signing copies of Peace Walker.

I’m gutted lol. London is a bit out of my way unfortunately. I know a guy in LA who went to the signing at gamestop, tried convincing him to pick me up a copy of PW and get it signed….he didn’t, strangely enough lol.

It is nice that it is scheduled during hours that will exclude anyone who has a job (well, if someone is within 5-10 minutes of Oxford street maybe).
When other people do signings like this (for albums and various things too) it lasts until later in the day, common sense etc.
Between this and the PS Store pricing is a bit of a disaster.

Yes the pricing on PS Store is very bad. Many people won’t buy it for that price including me. If it was 10 pounds less you would get my money.

bought off the US store. Sorry, I dont support unfair practices of pricing. Not Kojima’s fault though. Screw you Konami.

I went to the Oxford HMV around this time two years ago for the official signing of MGS4, man was it awesome. I queued up outside the night before with a mate and passed the time playing my PSP. It was so cool to meet Hideo and shake his hand. As cool as it was, I don’t think I can be bothered to do the same thing again for Peace Walker.

Will we be able to get our hands on the t-shirts on friday at HMV? or will we have to go on the saturday to get them?
Posted on 17 June, 2010 at 3:59 pm by Richie Churchill
Sorry, first time on this blog, this message was meant for you fella.
The T-Shirts don’t go on sale until Saturday. IF you’re at the UNIQLO signing staff will be handing out order forms so you can reserve the T-Shirts you’re after without having to leave the signing queue.

@danielmccue
theirs a little confusing,konami’s site say it’s MGS3 snake eater 3D,
http://www.konami.jp/kojima_pro/e3_2010/mgs3d/en/
but Mr Kojima said,it was a tech demo of sorts.I’d still like a PW update though,as a MGS fan it looks amazing.

someone needs to tell other countries that England is bigger than just London I live miles away (Doncaster) and can’t afford the train ticket, when they do stuff like this they should make it a tour or something

London is the capital, thats where it should be. I may only be saying that however as i only live 10 minutes away

Great, London, where people go to get stabbed, shot and overcharged by shops, restaurants, parking etc;
I can think of 100 places Kojima could visit which are better

Oh, wait, I live 150 miles away.

Can someone ask him what is happening to the promised trophy support in MGS 4? They said we should be patient, but that was almost a year ago.

Thanks

Yheah I agree, I got the coach at 2am from Leeds with my 12 year old nephew to attend the signing at uniqlo to arrive there at 10am to be told by the skin head bouncer that no one would be aloud to enter the store for the rest of the day. Even though a girl who works at the shop said she was happy for us to go in to buy the t-shirts but the moron wouldn’t have it.
Luckily we bumped into the man elsewhere in london later on.
