Hello martial arts fans
How would you like to win lots of cool stuff, the best of which is tickets to the brand new Karate Kid film premiere? Of course you would…
The Karate Kid, starring Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan, is set to launch with a series of glittering premieres across Europe ahead of its theatrical release on 28 July 2010. You can win the chance to walk the red carpet at the London premiere on 15 July 2010 and be a PlayStation Reporter for the PlayStation.Blog.
But that’s not all; to make sure you’ll be a proper PlayStation.Blog reporter, the lucky winner will also win a Sony Vaio P Series laptop and a Sony Bloggie camera. Two runners up will win the classic The Karate Kid and The Karate Kid II on Blu-ray Disc.
All you have to do is visit the competition site and send us a review you have written about your favourite martial arts movie. Simple, just tell us why you like it in the most interesting and unique way. Perhaps you’ve counted the amount of punches to the brain there are in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (46?!), or perhaps you feel you’ve unlocked the deep emotional metaphor of the bonsai tree in Karate Kid 2. Some guys at SCEE reckon they could write a 60,000 word thesis on how Jean Claude Van Damme pioneered a new form of dance during the bar scene in Kickboxer.
Once you’ve checked the terms and conditions, send your personal reviews to the email address provided on the competition page. Reviews need to be 150-300 words long and you need to be over 18 to enter and be eligible for the prizes. Please be aware that this competition is only open to residents of UK/Ireland, France, Germany and Spain. Oh, and I forgot to mention, we’ll organize your accommodation in the premiere city for the night and we’ll get you to the premiere city if you don’t live there.
So surprise us, entertain us and let the profound spiritual energy of martial arts sail from your pen tip. You have until Sunday, 27th June to enter.
And remember – don’t think, feel.
Good luck – ‘Miyagi have hope for you’

Man, us Europeans always have to work for our competitions :p
I got excited about the competition and thought I had a good chance until it said it had to be a review of a martial arts movie. I saw a couple, but nothing to write passionately about by any means. Darn.
Cool competition and prizes though, good luck to all those who enter!

Hi Somethingatt
You never know! You don’t have to write anything too hardcore..just tell us why you like it. Yours could be the best one ; )

Although it disgusts me the new KARATE Kid film is about KUNG FU, I do really want to see it
Sent in my review of the original Karate Kid film, would make me all kinds of happy to win
Tell ya what, you let me win and I’ll have a “BAANZZAAIIII” competition with someone :p

Haha well, I’m going to university in September (hopefully Warwick!) where I’ll study in hopes of becoming a film journalist when I’m older. So I was quite happy this competition let me get a head start so to speak
Thought it’d be a good omen if I came runner-up in this or something

Why did the runi my childhood memories with this remake? Will Smith just decided to cast his son even though it is miscast. Also, why is it called the karate kid when he learns kung fu?

What about eligibility of people from other SCEE countries ? I checked for Italia, Switzerland, Portugal, South Africa, UAE, India, Bulgaria, Norway and none of them have access to this competition. Why do you like to always DISCRIMINATE ?!?
