Hello everyone and welcome to another ‘Heads Up’ post courtesy of PSN Store Management. Once again I hold the fort while Mike takes a couple of days to enjoy the sunshine (ie; playing Alpha Protocol in a darkened room somewhere).
Exciting times with the launch of our premium service, PlayStation Plus – keep your eyes peeled for some genuinely spanking offers and additions over the coming months, and for those of you who get on board the Plus train right now with a year’s subscription, you can snag yourself a digital copy of LittleBigPlanet for the princely sum of absolutely nothing. No more getting off the sofa to pop in a Blu-ray, you’ll have to get your physical exercise some other way. I suggest powering your PS3 by exercise bike, but when it doesn’t work you can’t blame me, okay?
Some of you observant types might also have noticed another update yesterday to the ‘All Games A-Z’ section of the store. You spoke (at length) and we listened so now you can find Games, Demos and specific Add-ons for each platform listed alphabetically in one handy area. Of course, if you want to see EVERYTHING that’s available for one title, you can still hit up the PS3 Games and PSP Games sections. We’re working on a few more little tweaks for the Store so keep an eye out in the coming weeks.
So on to the update – For you handheld heroes we’ve got Everybody’s Tennis for your PSP – cracking good fun just like its golf-based predecessors. Also for those of you who are lucky enough to already have Toy Story 3 launch in your country, we’ve got the second round of DLC in the form of Woody’s Round up for you to enjoy. Throw in the latest Buzz! Quiz World pack, two new minis (also for PS3, as usual) and a free level kit for LittleBigPlanet and we’re all set.
All you PS3 types have it pretty good this week too – we’ve got the LEGO Harry Potter Years 1-4 demo and if you missed Death Track: Resurrection or the criminally under-rated Aqua Panic HD when they released, you can now try these out for free too. We have enormous amounts of DLC for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 for you budding golfers to browse, the Sacktue of Liberty returns for one week only and if you’re not already a Fat Princess convert, we’ve slashed the price just in time for the launch of the Fat Roles expansion pack. Yes, we’re bringing those old Internet favourites, Pirates and Ninjas (and Giants) to the fray. So now you don’t need to debate which is better, just get stuck in and fight it out!
Avatars, Wallpapers and some really awesome new videos for you too this week – don’t forget to check out the new Brink trailers, that one’s looking pretty special.
That’s all from me this week, Mike will be back as usual next time – I’ll reply to comments throughout the afternoon if you promise to be good. Bye for now!

Do people not read other comments or check the store fully?
-Super stardust HD is NOT on offer
-Super stardust HD complete IS on offer
-Check under the arcade section and go find the game yourself, it’s not on the main updates.

@200
Agree with the PSN+ comment. Everybody I know and speak to about it says the same things.
You should have a choice between several games to download as what they have released so far e.g. Killzone DLC, people probably have by now, same with the free copy of LBP, way to give away a copy of a game that most people already have Sony!
Secondly I can see the PS1 classics being games like “the little mermaid” and “a bugs life” rather than the final fantasies, metal gear, odd world etc… not to mention that I own most of the decent PS1 classics anyway. They really need to think more about this service and offer alternative downloads rather than restricting people.

Ross, if you’re still here (not likely) Fat princess is still showing as £11.99 on the UK PSN store for me :/

Yeah, anyway, nice update and all, but I’m still waiting for that promised Disgaea 2 DLC that’s been “available (to) all locales” on the 5th May 2010 update.
Or should I pester NISA about it? It’s unlikely they didn’t submit it, seeing as it was on the release list, so it most likely should be a screw up.
Seriously, I would spend money on the DLC, I really would, but I can’t. So if you want that money I would spend on Disgaea 2 DLC, please make them available, even if I have to wait yet another week.
Oh, and as a compensation, I’d love to have a Plenair wallpaper. Or at least a cookie. Or at least my 30 minutes of my life back. Then again, I’d settle with a cookie. Preferably a chocolate chip cookie. That’s made of chocolate. A chocolate flavored chocolate chip cookie. Just a picture of one is allowed.

I’m still disappointed about the false promise that was made regarding the PSP’s back-catalogue of games when the PSPgo was announced. I’m seeing very few of the games I used to love on my PSP-1000
On the plus-side. I love Motorstorm: Arctic Edge.
But I’d love to play some SSX: On Tour, especially considering I haven’t had my SSX-fix on PS3!

Dear PSN Team for all the criticism, there is also praise:
Finally, the categories have been reviewed with demo Categories, etc. The Logos look not as good as in the U.S. Store. But it is a start.
Tribute for that!
The Test Full Versions should have a little Discount for + Members when they Buy it. Cause it´s the same Price as for normal Users. Reason is, some Test Versions hat a Demo in PSN.

Thanks for the reply Ross. Much appreciated.
Now something else – Can we get some PSone Classics (emphasis added) on the store please? How about Trap Runner from Konami? Or Apre Escape? Those games freaking rock!!!

Hey! I have a new slogan for $ony;
‘Disappointment. Guaranteed’
Sort out the PSP releases, stop trying to copy Nintendo and [Removed] where is Dissidia? 12 years of awesome, the good old days, defiantly gone now!

As has been noted already I believe, but I’m just being extra cautious, the Super Stardust HD offer is for the COMPLETE version (game and two packs), not the game only.
Was £7.99/€9.99 Now £2.39/€2.99
Thanks

The price reduction for Fat Princess has been pushed live onto the store NOW, apologies for being tardy with this.

just wanted to say great job on the plus service!
subscribed last night and got my free copy of LBP, now thanks to that my programming assignment is 2 hours late
anyway just wanted to ask when is Australia getting firstplay or something like it?
the US, UK and IR are not the only regions that like to watch previews of upcoming games you know?

Thanks for the clarification Mikey.
i’m downloading it now.
Super Stardust HD is not showing on the latest nor special offer area of PSN. I had to drill down through the all games menu, so I’m glad I check the blog.

No tales of Monkey Island and no Monkey Island Special Edition…
Not asking a date but are they still in the pipeline for SA?
Posted on 1 July, 2010 at 11:43 am by Mike Kebby
I’m trying to find out from both publishers, fingers crossed they are coming though. The good news is that Monkey Island 2 is going to all locales though

Posted on 1 July, 2010 at 2:51 pm by Nezhit
I’m ‘loving’ the change on stance over LBP. Right up until launch it was free for “anyone” but at launch we found out it was only for people who had more money than sense and chose to buy a full year of an untested service (Can anyone else remember the ditched services from playstation?). I bought three months as a tester and I was rightly disgusted to find the stance had been changed at the eleventh hour.
It just goes to show that not everyone is valued as was originally stated.

ive been waiting on fat princess to go on sale SINCE RELEASE!
than i finally caved in on tuesday and now yous finally put it on sale!

@Mike , Hi, any chance of the Toro ‘Sony Cat’ dynamic themes coming to the European store? We got to buy him in LittleBigPlanet and Everybody’s Golf, how we want him as our backdrop!
I asked this yesterday but Ross answered all the questions around mine but not mine. It doesn’t matter if the answer is no or you don’t know, I just want some hope that the UK team knows about those dynamic themes.

Hey Mike & Ross, there seems to be a bug with the Playstation Plus full game trial feature, I just finished the hour trial of Savage moon and earned a throphy. but after a few hours the throphy is still there. Will I have to keep that in my throphy list forever?
